My Youth Began With Him

Huo Mian’s second sentence exploded in Su Yu’s heart like a huge bomb.

If he understood it right, she was asking him if he wanted her if she divorced.

Did she mean that?

Su Yu froze in astonishment when he heard this bold sentence; he didn’t know what to say.

After all, this wasn’t Huo Mian’s style; with her personality, she’d never say something like this.

But the person standing before him was indeed Mian. Su Yu was confused, totally confused.

“Su Yu, why didn’t you say something? You dislike me, too?”

“No, no, no. I’ll never, ever, dislike you,” Su Yu said hurriedly.

“I’m fed up with Qin Chu’s coldness to me. I know he’s sad about the baby, but I’m sad, too… I truly don’t know what to do. Next week when I’m better, I’ll have a good talk with him. If he doesn’t change his ways, I’ll have no choice but to divorce him…”

“Mian, don’t be rash… Divorce is not a game.”

“I’m serious.”

“How about Pudding and Little Bean?”

“I’ll give them to him. I want nothing, not a penny from him.”

“Mian…”

“What? Do you think I’d starve with my medical skills?” Huo Mian raised her eyebrows.

“It’s not that. I don’t think the things between you are as bad as you say. If you divorce, the elderly people in both your families will be devastated… I hope you can talk to him. In fact, the problem is not a big deal.”

Su Yu wasn’t a person who’d take advantage of another person’s misfortune, so he tried to dissuade her from divorcing Qin Chu despite his love for her.

“Forget it. It’s my family business anyway. I feel better after talking to you. I’ve got to go.”

“Where are you going?”

“I don’t know. I’ll just walk around. Anyway, I don’t want to go home.”

“Mian, don’t be so childish.”

“I’m not. I just don’t want to go home.”

“I’ll keep your company. I can’t let you walk around in this state.”

Su Yu didn’t want her to wander around on such a cold winter day, so he grabbed his coat and walked out with her.

Beside Imperial Star was a big shopping mall of luxurious brands.

Su Yu took her into the mall for a walk, but to his surprise, Huo Mian bought lots of luxurious stuff happily, including bags, silk scarves, high heels, perfume, and even underwear.

Since she didn’t bring a bag when she came out, Su Yu paid for the purchases with his credit card.

It cost him more than 600,000 yuan…

Huo Mian thanked him with a smile and said she’d go to Sky Blessing Court to see her mother.

They parted ways at the exit of the mall. Su Yu offered to drive her, but she refused and left in a taxi.

Watching Huo Mian’s departing back, Su Yu felt something wasn’t right but couldn’t put it to words. Maybe he was just imagining things.

Returning to his office, Su Yu couldn’t go back to his work. He considered Huo Mian’s behavior carefully and thought he should talk to Qin Chu; after all, he had caused the problem between the couple.

He pulled out Qin Chu’s number and called him.

“Qin Chu, it’s me.”

“I know.”

“Mian came to see me today,” Su Yu said calmly.

“Oh? What did she say?” Qin Chu indeed sounded indifferent.

“She said you two fought. Is it true?”

“You can say so.”

“Qin Chu, I think… Mian isn’t easy…”

“No one is easy. None of us are easy,” Qin Chu said mysteriously.

“Do you have time tonight to see me? Can we talk?” Su Yu thought he needed to talk to Qin Chu in person and told him that if he continued questioning Huo Mian, Huo Mian might want to divorce him.
