My Youth Began With Him

Huo Yanyan’s laugh made her plastic face look even scarier.

“Then… tell me, what’s your plan?”

In the end, Ye Chaoyang wasn’t able to fend off Huo Yanyan’s silver tongue.

– The Shen Corporation –

With Su Yu’s funding, Shen Mingxi was able to quickly turn around his fate and pull his company out of the slump.

Afterward, he placed heavy focus on the business and always worked straight into the night.

The last time he saw Wei Ying was during the birthday party.

In the blink of an eye, a long time had passed…

– 8 PM in the evening –

After he finished his work for the day, Shen Mingxi looked at his watch; it was still early.

He wanted to ask Su Yu out for a drink, but for whatever reason, he messaged Wei Ying instead when he picked up his phone.

“Ying-Ying…”

“Here,” Wei Ying replied instantaneously.

“Have you gone to bed?”

“It’s still early. Who sleeps this early?”

“Then… want to come outside and eat something? I recently discovered a Guangxi river snail rice noodle place on Tongda Street. It’s really popular… Apparently the boss is from Liu Zhou. The taste is very authentic. Remember when you used to talk nonstop about it back when you visited Guilin?”

Once you care about someone, everything they say becomes important.

Thinking back to the beginning of their marriage, Shen Mingxi would always be too busy to spend time with Wei Ying. She’d always wanted to travel but he would always say that he had no time.

Eventually, Wei Ying traveled to Guangxi and Guilin with her friends for some 15 days, returning with a craving for river snail rice noodles.

Although it smelled a little bit odorous, it tasted delicious; it was a spicy treat for the taste buds.

Back then, Shen Mingxi didn’t pay any mind to it. Now, hearing his assistants mention river snail rice noodles, he was suddenly reminded of Wei Ying’s love for the food.

“Okay! I love river snail rice noodles! I’ve always ordered it online but… of course, the taste is not as authentic as the ones in Liu Zhou. Let’s see how good this place is.”

Not making things awkward, Wei Ying immediately accepted his suggestion.

“I’ll send my driver to pick you up.”

Shen Mingxi wanted to pick Wei Ying up himself but knew that his appearance near her condo would cause people to talk.

If the paparazzi snapped a picture of them Wei Ying would certainly get scolded by Wei Liao.

That was why he proposed to send his driver.

“No, I’ll drive there myself. My dad heard something about me wanting a car… so he immediately got me one.”

“Uncle Wei always dotes on you. It makes sense.”

“Then give me the address. I’ll drive over there later.”

“Alright, I’ll see you later then.”

Wei Ying was much more independent now. After she messaged Shen Mingxi, she immediately began to doll up.

Other than the Mingyang Mountain mansion she shared with her parents, she also owned a 1700 square feet house in the city.

The house belonged to the Wei Family and was renovated to be very artistic; Wei Ying would often spend her time there.

After getting ready, Wei Ying went downstairs. At the sight of her brand new orange Lamborghini, she felt amazed.

River snail rice noodle and seeing Shen Mingxi? It was the kind of excitement only she could understand.

To Wei Ying, it was ineffable happiness…

“President Shen, what are you so happy about?”

Seeing his boss giggle, Shen Mingxi’s assistant was more than curious.

“When you care about someone… you’ll care about everything that’s related to them, right?” Shen Mingxi asked his assistant.

His assistant looked more than confused. “Um… yes? I guess so…”

“Everyone’s been working so hard, doing overtime all the time. I’m giving you double the bonus this month.”

“Wow, thanks, Boss!”

Everyone was excited at the announcement.

Shen Mingxi drove straight to the restaurant, excited to meet Wei Ying.

Suddenly, his phone rang; it was a number from abroad.

After he picked up the call, his expression heavied…
