My Youth Began With Him

“Boss, please stop yanking my chain… I really can’t handle Miss Han…”

“Funny, as if you can handle Lu Yan…”

Su Yu didn’t mean anything by his response but An’s eyes flashed with a complex emotion.

He liked Lu Yan… he really liked Lu Yan… the kind of like that grew over time.

Especially after he found out her real identity, he put her on a pedestal and worshipped her like a goddess.

He no longer dared to wish for a chance to confess to her, or even have any contact with her.

All he wanted was to see her as much as possible.

During Huo Mian’s birthday party on the boat, when the three of them were beaten up by the maniacal Huo Siqian, it was Lu Yan who descended onto them, saving their lives like some heavenly being.

What a spectacular fight… that kind of skill, that kind of presence… An would never measure up to her in this lifetime.

He thought about the amount of hardship she must’ve endured to be that skilled at such a young age. She must’ve gone through hell.

Because of this, his heart would hurt whenever he imagined her childhood.

Who was he to worry about Lu Yan, though?

Lu Yan’s world was untouchable. It was a realm beyond even Su Yu.

It was a warring world at the international level. Terrorists, South African drug lords, the Golden Triangle, Syrian oppositions… the Triads, the Taiwanese Zhulian gang, the Malaysian Dato internal war… all of them… it was like an endless movie…

“Ugh…um…I didn’t mean to bring it up…”

Su Yu regretted joking about someone that meant as much to An as Lu Yan. He knew he went overboard so he apologized.

“Relax, Boss, I’m not that sensitive.”

The image of Lu Yan’s beautiful face flashed across An’s mind. He really missed her.

“Han Yueyao’s pretty hard working… Mian is a pretty good judge of character.”

Although Huo Mian never said it out loud, Su Yu knew how much she liked Han Yueyao.

She would always show the latter respect in any situation.

“Not only does Doctor Huo think so, I think so too. Miss Han is great…she’s very dignified… she could totally live off of her face but she wants to live off of her talents.”

“I agree with that.” Su Yu nodded.

Han Yueyao’s looks were considered outstanding even for the capital city, not to mention their city.

She could probably get her hands on a rich man and receive anything and everything luxurious.

Back when Su Yu investigated her, he’d discovered something interesting about her.

When she was in her second year of university, there was a businessman from Hong Kong that was about 40.

He was young, incredibly rich, even owning a part of Macau’s casinos.

The rich man always had a liking for female celebrities, having almost 10 as his sugar babies…

He somehow met Han Yueyao by chance and began his crazy courtship ever since…

However, he never did succeed.

Apparently…one time, when Han Yueyao was getting off school, the rich guy blocked her school entrance with his multi-million race car.

Feeling superior, he asked, “Yaoyao, want me to buy you a watch?”

Han Yueyao stared at him for three seconds and questioned, “Bro, are you this kind to your mother?”

Her question embarrassed the rich man to his core. He was so mortified he stopped the courtship.

Many of her classmates thought that she was an idiot for doing what she did. She could’ve instantly found fame and fortune… but she opted for the difficult, step-by-step path to success.

“President Su, since you already know everything, that Miss Han’s not Doctor Huo’s cousin, that this was all Madame’s plan, why didn’t you ask them about it?”

Su Yu had already found out the truth but he kept his knowledge hidden. He wasn’t even mad! An thought that his boss wasn’t acting himself.

Usually, with Su Yu’s hotheaded temperament, he would’ve told everyone what he knew and gave Han Yueyao a piece of his mind already.
