My Youth Began With Him

As a girl from an ordinary family, of course she’d love to marry into a wealthy family.

It was said even Huo Mian had married Qin Chu as a girl from an ordinary family and become the Qin Family’s young madam.

Han Yueyao was tempted by this beautiful prospect, but…

“Auntie, to be honest, your promise is truly a great temptation for me. Not only me, I think many women in C City are dreaming to marry Su Yu and marry into the wealthy and powerful Su Family. So, I’m pleased to hear your proposal since it means you approve of my character.”

Mrs. Su looked at her but didn’t speak.

“But I think… to make a marriage successful, the two parties must either have matching family backgrounds or love each other… But I have neither. So, Auntie, I’m sorry that I have to disappoint you. Like I said before, I come from an ordinary family, but I know my limitations. The big gap between our family backgrounds is one reason, but the most important reason is that Su Yu doesn’t like me. If he loves me, I might have the courage to have a try, but now… I don’t want to do it because I won’t be happy and Su Yu won’t be happy, either.”

Mrs. Su wasn’t angry at Han Yueyao’s refusal. Obviously, the girl was quite eloquent despite her young age and ordinary academic background; her words showed that she had given much thought to this problem.

She had shown her courage and self-esteem by refusing Mrs. Su’s proposal.

The people who claimed the girl was a money lover didn’t know her well.

“So you’ll become an actress no matter what.”

“I just want to make money. In fact, I don’t care if I can become a star or not. I’d be satisfied so long as I can make a good income with my abilities and make my parents’ lives easier… I truly don’t want to be helpless if they need money in an emergency, such as if they need a big surgery; I truly don’t want them to work themselves into an early grave. That’s enough for me.”

Then Han Yueyao stood up and bowed deeply at Mrs. Su.

“Auntie, thank you for bringing me into Imperial Star.”

Then, she left…

Mrs. Su’s eyes turned unreadable. Han Yueyao had a good character but was also stubborn due to her young age.

She left Imperial Star and went to South Side, intending to ask Huo Mian to help her dissuade Han Yueyao from going to the reality show.

When she got to the hospital, she didn’t see Huo Mian.

“Hello, Director.”

Some young nurses greeted Mrs. Su politely.

At Huo Mian’s recommendation, Mrs. Su had been working here as the director of the charity fund.

“Where’s Vice Director Huo? She’s not in her office.”

“She… went out.”

“Where did she go?”

“I don’t know. A black Audi A8 took her,” one young nurse said.

“Did she say when she’d come back?”

“No.” The young nurse shook her head.

Curious, Mrs. Su dialed Huo Mian’s number on her cellphone.

But the call couldn’t get through.

“I hope she’s not in trouble.” Mrs. Su was worried.
