My Youth Began With Him

Zeng Rou woke up from a nightmare in which she was browsing Weibo on her cellphone in the back garden of the South Side Recuperation Center; then a man walked over to ask for directions, but before she could reply, she lost consciousness.

When she woke up and saw her surroundings, she understood instantly that it wasn’t a dream.

It was true that she had been kidnapped from right under the nose of her bodyguards at South Side.

“Miss Zeng.”

The man’s voice sounded evil.

Zeng Rou looked up and was astonished when she saw his face.

“Huo… Huo Siqian.”

Zeng Rou hadn’t imagined that she’d meet this man. What identity did the man have now? Outlaw? Huo Mian’s deadly enemy?

“You take me as him, too. Unfortunately, I’m not…”

“Jack?”

Zeng Rou remembered what she had read about Huo Siqian from the documents that her senior gave to her. Huo Siqian had severe schizophrenia and certain conditions could trigger his alternate personality Jack.

It was said most of the evil stuff and murders that Huo Siqian committed were through the hand of his alternate personality.

“It seems…you know a lot about me.”

Jack wasn’t surprised that Zeng Rou knew his name; instead, he was pleased.

“Why did you catch me? Isn’t your enemy Huo Mian?”

Zeng Rou sold out Huo Mian in her first sentence, not wanting to bring harm to herself.

“What a pity. In fact… I truly had no interest in you. But our master said we could catch you to force Lu Yan out.”

“Your master? Who is he?”

Zeng Rou’s curiosity was instantly roused. If she could find out the people behind Huo Siqian, she’d get credit when she reports it to the commander.

“Don’t be naïve. How can people like you know about our master?”

“Huo… No, Mr. Jack, the problem is you must catch Huo Mian to force Lu Yan out. They are sisters. I’ve fallen out with those people. You got the wrong person.”

“Got the wrong person? No, how can it be? You even know the relationship between Lu Yan and Huo Mian. Zeng Rou… you’re quite a figure.”

Jack stared at her with a faint smile.

Zeng Rou realized that she had spoken too much.

Only a few people knew about the relationship between Huo Mian and Lu Yan.

Even Su Yu and Gao Ran knew little about it, but she blurted it out, making these guys suspicious.

“I… I’m friends with Huo Mian. She told me,” Zeng Rou argued.

“Do you take me for a fool? I know Huo Mian better than you do. She’d never tell anyone about Lu Yan, except for Qin Chu. Miss Zeng, you’re a daughter of a rich family and haven’t been through hardships. I don’t want to torture you. So let’s get to the point. If you answer my questions willingly, you’ll be fine; but if you refuse, our master might get angry and you might be tossed into the sea to feed the sharks…”

Pointing at the sea around them, Jack gave her a sinister smile.

Zeng Rou realized that they might be in the high seas and she could be tossed into the water at any moment…

“My father won’t let you get away with it. You must know whom my father is, right?”

Zeng Rou hoped she could scare them with her father’s title.

But she was mistaken…

Jack laughed; the laugh was full of irony.
