Child of Destiny

Chapter 335: Setting up a Stage

...…

All-Gamersʼ Gym, fourth floor.

”Alright. Listen, if you really want to be promoted to the higher floors in a faster way, then you need to follow my instructions. Understood,” whispered Arthur to Molton.

And the moment he saw that the latter nodded his head, Arthur immediately added. ”So, just follow my lead, alright?”

After that, Arthur immediately hopped away from Molton while saying. ”What~!? Are you for real, man? Do you know how strong the Regulars from the higher floors?”

With how loud his voice was, the attention of everyone present inside the room was immediately attracted to him once again. They were looking at him full of confusion; Molton included.

This innocent newcomer kept on blinking his eyes as he couldnʼt keep up at what was happening. But he chose to remain silent when he saw Arthur winking at him.

On the other hand, the regular who was addressed by Arthur as Mr. Super Ordinary, was currently frowning his brows when he was looking at the two. A moment later, Arthur turned his head at him while saying. ”Hey! Do you know what this guy says when I said that you are a regular?”

And before the said regular could even ask what it was, Arthur immediately added. ”He said that if all Regulars are like you, then becoming a regular himself is just an easy feat.”

Mr. Super Ordinary raised his eyebrows even higher the moment he heard those words. But he didnʼt believe it fully since he already had enough of this guyʼs underhanded tricks; he would do everything just to cause some troubles for the others.

Unfortunately, the expression that he had on his face suddenly turned solemn the moment he saw Molton was looking at him with a blank face; it was as if this guy was admitting what Arthur had said.

At the same time, Molton became more confused the moment he saw Mr. Super Ordinary glaring at him. He actually didnʼt want to react to Arthurʼs words so that this guy would not misunderstand him. But based on the reaction that he got, not reacting at all seemed to have the opposite effect instead.

”Kid, do you know who I am?” asked Mr. Super Ordinary with a fierce tone.

The moment those words left his mouth, Arthur immediately chimed in. ”Right, right. You should know who he is,” while nodding his head.

And before Mr. Super Ordinary can react, Arthur immediately added. ”He is an old-timer in this place. Donʼt get fooled even if I have overtaken him by much. It is just Iʼm too strong if you compared our strengths,” while pointing on himself with his right-hand thumb.

As if he was rubbing some salts on the wounds, Arthur didnʼt forget to add a few more. ”Even if he is still stacked on the 25th floor and left behind by the others, it doesnʼt mean that he is a weak person. After all, he is the famous ʼGorillaʼ on that floor.”

The corner of the said manʼs mouth couldnʼt help but twitch uncontrollably the moment he heard all of that. He wanted to cut in the middle of those words, but he couldnʼt find the right timing since Arthur was talking a little too fast.

On the other hand, Molton suddenly turned his head at Arthur and asked. ”Hey, I thought he was called Mr. Super Ordinary? How come you are calling him a gorilla now?”

Arthur looked at him after hearing that. Then he quickly put his hand at the corner of his mouth to cover it from the other guy and whispered. ”Oh~! About that? Donʼt put much thought about it; he is just an extra after all.”

Even if he couldnʼt hear what they were talking about, the Gorilla guy could tell that they were ridiculing him once again. And due to that, he failed to control his temper any longer and yelled. ”Moth*rfuck*rs! You guys will not stop underestimating me, huh?”

”So what? Do you have a problem with that?” asked Arthur while squinting his eyes.

”Y-you!... Y-you!...” the Gorilla guy wanted to refute but he couldnʼt bring himself to do so. After all, he was completely aware that he couldnʼt beat Arthur.

Arthur started smirking the moment he saw the expression that he had. And since everything was going according to the plan, he immediately moved to the next phase of the plan. ”You canʼt blame us for looking down at you, since you are not putting much effort on your training.”

He paused for a moment to take a look at the gorilla guyʼs expression. And the moment he saw that the latter was gritting his teeth, Arthur immediately put more oil on the fire. ”Think about it. You are already training at his place before I even got here. Yet, you didnʼt even make any progress since that time.”

”Instead, you seem to be getting weaker and weaker as the time goes by. Look! There are a lot of newcomers who are overtaking you in the Regularsʼ Ranking list.”

Those words were seemingly a bunch of knives stabbing at the gorilla guyʼs heart. Given that, he finally failed to contain his anger and immediately launched himself at Arthur.

Then he suddenly arrived in front of Arthur in just a blink of an eye. And right after appearing, he immediately threw his fist forward in a very powerful manner. That fist was glowing with purple color, signifying that it was imbued with a bunch of Internal Qi.

”I have grown stronger since that time! It is just you; Chosen ones, and your f*cking talents are suppressing all of our hard work!” shouted ʼGorillaʼ as he was throwing that punch straight to Arthurʼs face.

Everything happened a little too fast for the onlookers to clearly see his movements. All they could see was ʼGorillaʼ disappearing from his previous spot before instantly reappearing in front of Arthur.

But despite that being the case, there were still two people responding to his movements right after he made his move.

One of them was Molton who was in the middle of controlling his Mental Energy to create a barrier in front of Arthur. But he immediately rejected the idea of doing it the moment he noticed that the latter was already making his move.

Gorillaʼs movements might be fast in the eyes of the others. But from Arthurʼs perspective, he was moving like a snail. With his trained eyes, he was still able to capture every movement of his opponent despite not using his ʼForesightʼ talent.

Due to this, he was already making his move before Gorilla could even launch himself forward. And right before the latterʼs fist reached his face, his right-hand middle and index fingers were already blocking its path.

Bang!

After throwing his fist, Gorilla was now looking at Arthur with a pair of eyes that were full of disbelief. He felt that all of the strength that he put on his punch was completely nullified the moment his fist met Arthurʼs fingers. And what was even shocking was that Arthur didnʼt even enfold his fingers with his own Internal Qi when blocking from his attack.

And since he was too stunned to say something, Arthur beat him into it. ”Do you think that we are stronger than you because of our talents? Then I am asking you to think about it once again.”

Then he immediately added after a slight pause. ”Do you honestly believe that we are not putting any efforts on our training and just relaying on our talents?”

”Let me share with you what my master has told me regarding it. Talents canʼt guarantee that you are going to become stronger than the others; the amount of effort that you put on your training also plays an important factor on your strength.”

After that, he put more force on his right before pushing Gorillaʼs fist forward. And due the unexpected strength that Arthur had put on that push, the latter was forced to take a couple of steps backwards before he could regain his balance.

The moment he regained his footing, Gorilla immediately raised his head and looked at Arthur with an astounded gaze. ʼThis guy really became much stronger since the last time he appeared in this place.ʼ

On the other hand, Arthur just calmly retracted his arm and crossed it in front of his chest together with his other arm. ”You should be thankful that I am now at the higher floors, or else I already challenge you on an ʼElimination Duelʼ.”

After that, he immediately uncrossed his arms and put one of them around Moltonʼs shoulder while saying. ”But since you are too eager to prove yourself. How about I send this guy in my place instead?”

Gorilla suddenly raised one of his eyebrows the moment he heard that and asked. ”What do you mean?”

Hearing that, Arthur suddenly started grinning one again and said. ”If this guy manages to beat you in an official duel, then you are going to give your floor rank to him. But if you are the one that becomes victorious, then I am going to give you my ranking. What you think?”

Gorilla didnʼt immediately give his reply as he suddenly became suspicious when he heard that. And when Arthur saw his hesitation, he immediately added. ”We can make it a best-of-three matchup. And along with it, we can also use the Gymʼs betting system to make sure that no one is going to go back on their words.”

Gorilla was still hesitating but whenever he looked at the thin body structure that Molton had, he couldnʼt see himself losing on someone with such a frail body.

But he was still cautious, so he immediately set his own condition. ”I have no problem with that, but I will be the one to decide which room we are going to use.”

This time, Arthur didnʼt reply immediately and asked for Moltonʼs opinion first. ”Aright, Junior Brother. I have already done my job. Now, it is your turn to do your part; are you going to accept his terms or not.”

”But let me remind you first, each sparring room in this place has different environments. So, I am pretty sure that he is going to choose the room which is more favorable to him.”

Molton immediately nodded his head after hearing that. Then he suddenly said with a fully determined tone. ”It is fine by me. I donʼt feel like losing against him; no matter where I look.”

Then he added inside his mind. ʼAfter all, he is much weaker compared to my sis and the others from my Clan. Who I want to spar with was someone as strong as you.ʼ

Arthur smiled then the moment he felt the overflowing confidence when Molton was saying those words. So, he immediately added. ”Good! Remember, you will be able to challenge much stronger guys after beating him.”

Molton nodded his head once again and said. ”Since Senior Brother trusts me so much to put his title on the line, then I am going to do my best to beat this guy.”

Arthur gave him another thumbs up after hearing that. Then he turned his head back to Gorilla and said. ”Alright, we are accepting your terms. Just make sure to choose a room really quick and donʼt make us wait.”
