Child of Destiny

Chapter 326: The Bird of Death and the Wolf of the Beginning

...

The next day (In-game time), the whole gaming world focused their attention on the Shadow Ranking Cup. It was because the current round was one of the most exciting periods of the tournament.

Every matchup for this current round was all worthy to be highlighted. Of course, it was only for the winnersʼ bracket, since there were a lot of less important fights in the losersʼ bracket.

At the same time, one of the most featured fights here was the upcoming battle between the Nameless Swordsman and the Wolf of the Beginning. And since these two players were the rising stars of their respective kingdoms, the hype for this matchup was all time high. In fact, the players of each kingdom were already having their own battles in the forums and the other online platforms.

Naturally, the True Sight Industries would take advantage of this heat to further increase their viewership of this battle. They even took some trouble to hire a respectable artist to create an online poster just for this fight.

The moment this online poster was released in the public, the hype of the battle skyrocket to an even higher degree. And the players based on each kingdom started waging wars with each other on different online platforms.

Well, the poster released by the True Sight Industries was actually a badass cover. The Nameless Swordsman was positioned on the upper-right side of the poster while having his signature pose on his previous battle.

He was hovering in the air while holding the sheath of his sword on his left hand. At the same time, he was holding the sword itself with his right hand while resting its blade on his right shoulder.

Of course, the identity of the Nameless Swordsman was going to be incomplete if he was not wearing his signature black and white mask which had the smiling and crying on each of its half. And despite wearing the mask, anyone who would look at it was still able to see the prideful aura that he was giving.

At the same time, the wings on his back were spreading outwards as he hovered in the air while looking at his opponent on the lower-left side of the poster.

On the other hand, the said opponent looked quite savage too. He fully clad with a set of leather armor which seemed to be made from the furs of monster wolves since they had the mixed shades of gray and black colors. At the same time, his head was covered by a barbarianʼs helm that was made from a wolfʼs head.

He was standing straight with crossed arms in front of his chest and arrogantly looking back at his opponent hovering in the air. He had a sheathed saber hanging on his back that had a broad blade.

This poster further hyped the players because of the eye-catching title that it had. The ʼBird of Deathʼ and the ʼWolf the Beginningʼ.

Even if the True Sight Industries gave Shin a title on their own, the players who saw the poster didnʼt actually mind it since it perfectly fit the theme of the poster.

And due to all of the hype that this matchup had, all of the tickets for the live audience of this fight had immediately been sold-out the moment it was released to the public.

Even the viewership that the True Sight Industries got on their official website was also all time high; they already got millions of viewers on the official broadcast despite the real battle hadnʼt started yet. Whatʼs more, that viewership was still counting.

Due to this, the True Sight Industries decided to start the broadcast early. And the commentators that had been assigned to cover this matchup also had a name of their own in the gaming industry; Miss Bunny and Miss Marry.

The looks of these beauties alone were more than enough for the majority of the viewers to watch the coverage of this battle. And if add the fact that they were both good at explaining the battles that they were watching, then there was no reason for these viewers not to watch this battle.

Though, the girls watching this coverage were slightly in disadvantaged since Mr. Cool Guy was not covering this battle anymore.

”Hello ladies and gentlemen! This is Miss Marry,” said by Marry as an opening greeting for their broadcast.

And the moment she took a slight, Miss Bunny who was sitting on her side also introduced herself. ”And this is Miss Bunny.”

Then they simultaneously said. ”Welcome for another Shadow Ranking Cup Battle Coverage!”

After that, Miss Marry turned her head at Miss Bunny and immediately said. ”I am quite excited for this upcoming fight. How about you, partner?”

Hearing that, Miss Bunny immediately smiled and replied. ”Of course, I am excited, senior. Who will not be excited for this fight if the pair we have here is a perfect matchup?”

”Yeah, you are right. Whatʼs more, both of them are rising stars of their respective kingdoms,” said Miss Marry while also wearing her charming smile. Then she added after a slight pause. ”And I can see that the players in each kingdom are already at war of words with each other.”

”Of course, they are. Who will get hyped when you see this amazing poster that we have?” said Miss Bunny while showing the online poster behind them, acting as their background.

”Oh~! Yeah, this cover is indeed beautiful,” second by Miss Marry.

Then Miss Bunny immediately added. ”Well, we should thank Mr. Takagi, the artist, for creating such a wonderful poster.”

”Mr. Takagi? No wonder it is good. I love the covers that are made by him,” said Miss Marry.

After thanking the creator of the online poster, the two immediately went on the script and started discussing the upcoming battle.

”Moving on, we should proceed on our main topic,” said Miss Marry before turning her head at Miss Bunny before asking. ”So, what do you think about this matchup? Whose side are you on?”

Hearing that, Miss Bunny immediately replied. ”As I said earlier, I am quite excited for this matchup since I am expecting a good performance from both contenders. As for whose side I am betting into-…”

Then she paused for a moment before continuing. ”Iʼll go with the Nameless Swordsman since his style is too versatile. He has a lot of cards under his sleeves that surprise us every time. And if you compare it with the straightforward approach that Liszt has, then I think the Nameless Swordsman will take this battle.”

After saying that, she looked at Miss Marry and returned the question. ”What about you, Senior. Who do you think is in the upper hand in this fight?”

Hearing that, Miss Marry immediately gave her reply. ”Regarding that, I beg to disagree with you my, dear junior. I am siding with the ʼWolf of the Beginningʼ this time.”

”Even if the Nameless Swordsman has a versatile style of fighting, he is just a jack-of-all-trades but a master of none. He may be good at different things but we canʼt say that he is the best on everything.”

”On the other hand, Liszt is someone that can be placed at the top ranking of all berserkers of the game. His fighting style may be a straightforward one but he is one of the best at doing it.”

”Whatʼs more, he is good at taking advantage of his own Race and Class. He has the power of the Beastman Race and the speed of a wolf which is too perfect for his way of battle. He has the two major requirements to win any battle; the speed and power. With these two, I am confident that he is still in advantage in this battle.”

After hearing all of that, Miss Bunny immediately gave her a compliment. ”As expected of you, senior. You gave a very detailed analysis.”

Then immediately added. ”But you forget about one thing. The Nameless Swordsman also has those two requirements; the speed and power. The only difference that they may have is the stat multipliers of their respective Class and Race.”

”Whatʼs more, you also need to remember that the Nameless Swordsman is also good at beating his opponents on their own game. Just like what he did in his previous fights for example.”

”He exposed the real class of the ʼPsychic: Janineʼ and even defeated her in a contest of patience. The same goes for the Akailu; he beat the Beastmaster in a summonersʼ battle. In fact, he even overwhelmed the Beastmaster in terms of controlling their summons.”

Miss Marry immediately refuted the moment Miss Bunny was done with her words. ”I agree with you regarding his battle against Janine and about his control over his summons. But it is a different story regarding the aerial battle.”

”He might have shown a good performance during his aerial battle against Akailu, but you still have to consider that he struggles during that fight. He has a hard time finding an opportunity to attack the Beastmaster before the iconic final aerial clash.”

Miss Bunny wanted to refute her words but she saw the director signaling her to cut the discussion. Then she looked at the screen in front of her and saw that the battle was about to start.

Given that, she immediately gave her sweetest smile at Miss Marry and the camera before saying. ”Well, if we really want to see who is going to win this matchup, then we should proceed at watching the battle itself.”

And after a slight pause, she immediately added. ”And from the looks of it, we are right on time since the battle is about to start.”

”So, letʼs all enjoy watching this amazing battle. And see who would emerge victorious. The Bird of Death or the Wolf of the Beginning.”
