Child of Destiny

Chapter 325: This Guy is hopeless

...…

Miss Bunny was currently in a pretty good mood since the staff meeting went all good. And this time, she obviously didnʼt get any kind of scolding regarding the coverage of the recent battle of the Nameless Swordsman since the whole battle went so well.

Even those superiors that she hated the most for always picking on her mistakes couldnʼt help but praise her this time. At the same time, she even got some new projects due to the success of this coverage. But before she could secure those projects, she needed the Nameless Swordsman himself to keep showing these kinds of satisfying performances.

Due to that, she also started praying for Shinʼs next opponents to show a good performance aside from the man himself to keep on winning his battles. The more satisfying the battles the better the feedback they could get from the coverage that there were going to make.

But before all of those, Miss Bunny needed to edit the battle footage that she got from Shinʼs battles. It was for her channels on the different social media platforms.

While Miss Bunny was walking on the hallway, she suddenly came across another woman in a formal suit. This woman had a good figure and her looks was not inferior to Miss Bunny. Though, this woman looked a little more seductive compared to Miss Bunnyʼs charming looks.

Miss Bunny couldnʼt help but knit her brows the moment she saw this woman. ʼTo all of the people that I can bump into, why her?ʼ

Naturally, the woman also noticed Miss Bunny the same moment the latter saw her. And right after seeing each other, the woman immediately walked over to Miss Bunny and said. ”Well, well. Congratulations on your new offers. I heard that you got a lot this time,” while wearing a smile.

Seeing that, Miss Bunny forced a smile with her lips and replied. ”Thanks, Senior Marry. I just got lucky this time.”

”Oh~! Really? But I heard that you made a bet with your team captain and said that you are going to quit your job if the man that you are covering suffers even a single defeat,” said by the woman, who was addressed as Marry.

The smile that Miss Bunny had suddenly turned stiff the moment she heard those words. At the same time, she was unable to give her reply when she heard that.

And when Marry saw the expression that Miss Bunny had on her face, she couldnʼt help but jiggle at her before saying. ”Donʼt worry, I know that you donʼt mean what you said at that time as you only said it by impulse. And it was the same with your team captain, I am sure that he also doesnʼt take you words seriously.”

Hearing those, the expression on Miss Bunnyʼs face suddenly turned even more stiff than before. She was even struggling to say something. ”I-I mean…”

Marry didnʼt wait for Miss Bunny to finish her words as she immediately said. ”Anyway, good luck on your next coverage. I hope that the Nameless Swordsman gives you a good show.”

She was about to leave when she suddenly halted her step as if he suddenly remembered something. Then she turned her head back at Miss Bunny before saying. ”Oh~! I just remember. I got an offer to cover the upcoming fights of Liszt, the Wolf of the Beginning. So, we may become partners in the next round of the tournament.”

She didnʼt even wait for Miss Bunnyʼs reply as he suddenly turned around and started walking after saying all of that. And when Miss Bunny saw that, she threw a vicious look at Marryʼs back as she watched her walk away from her.

”What a two-faced woman,” muttered Miss Bunny while rolling her eyes. Then she clenched her hand into a fist before adding. ”Just you wait, the Nameless Swordsman will surely beat the crap of that Wolf of the Beginning.”

...…

Achoo!

”D*mn! Someone is talking behind my back once again?” muttered Shin while rubbing his index finger under his nose.

Meanwhile, Shin was currently ʼcagingʼ himself inside his room. And as usual, he had an open virtual screen in front of him as if he was studying something.

Arthur looked at Shin with a weird expression on his face before saying. ”Wow! You can sneeze even if you are inside the game? Now that is something.”

Shin ignored him as usual and continued to look at the virtual screen in front of him. And the moment Arthur saw that, he couldnʼt help but clicked his tongue. ”Tch! Such a bore~♪”

After that, he lazily leaned his back on the sofa that he was sitting before looking at the ceiling full of boredom.

A moment later, the door of the room was suddenly opened by someone followed by Leonardʼs entrance.

Arthur turned his head at him before saying. ”Oh~! You are back. You already finished your training?”

Leonard took a quick look at him before saying. ”Well, my master told me to take some rest since he is going to send me on a special military assignment given my Sir Nathan.”

Hearing that, Arthur suddenly shot up from his seat before saying with an excited expression on his face. ”Eh~! You are also going on the mission with us? Thatʼs good! That means, the Monster Trio is going back in action.”

Then he suddenly turned quiet as he remembered something. ”Wait! You are going on a mission? Arenʼt you training to control the berserk nature of your new bloodline? Are you sure that you can handle it now?”

Leonard shrugged his shoulders the moment he heard that before saying. ”Honestly speaking. I am still not confident that I can contain it properly yet, much less controlling its powers.”

Then he paused for a moment before continuing. ”But since you and Shin Bro are on this mission, I am confident that you guys are going to keep me in check.”

Hearing that, the corner of Arthurʼs mouth suddenly twitched uncontrollably before opening his mouth rapidly. ”Are you for real? Keeping Shin in check is already a lot of trouble. Now, you wanted to add yourself to the mix? What do you guys think of me? Your babysitter?

Iʼm supposedly the leader of this group, right?”

When Leonard heard that, he shrugged his shoulders once again before saying. ”Why? Arenʼt you much stronger now? Maybe you can even handle the both of us at the same time now. What do you think?”

Arthur was unable to give his reply as his face suddenly turned stiff when he heard that. And when Leonard saw the expression that Arthur had, he suddenly started laughing very hard while hugging his belly.

He continued laughing for quite some time while ignoring the confused expression that Arthur had. Then he forced himself to stop before saying to Arthur with full difficulty. ”Did you really believe what I just said?”

Then took a moment to calm himself down before continuing. ”Did you really believe that my master will let me go on a dangerous mission as this one without considering my current condition?”

”You donʼt have to worry about the problems that may arise when I am using my bloodline since it is not going to happen anyway. Master locked some of my meridians to limit the powers of my bloodline at the level where I can control it properly.”

Arthur took some time to recollect his thoughts as he continued to listen at Leonardʼs words absentmindedly. And when he finally recovered himself, he immediately shouted at Leonard. ”You b*st*rd! You dared to pull a prank on me now, huh? Letʼs see how I am going to teach you a lesson this time.”

But before Arthur could even jump in action, Shin unknowingly appeared behind him and pulled him backwards. And before Arthur could even say something, Shin suddenly asked Leonard. ”Do you have any information regarding the matter that we are going to deal this time?”

Hearing that, Arthur suddenly shut his mouth and looked at Leonard, waiting for him to answer Shinʼs question.

At the same time, Leonard pursed his lips and shrugged his shoulders before giving his reply. ”If even the two of you donʼt have much information regarding the mission, then how can I know anything about it?”

He paused for a moment before adding. ”Though, I overheard that this operation is something big. It even involved the old dudes in your household.”

”Grandpa?” asked Arthur with full of surprise.

Leonard nodded his head before adding. ”Not only him. I heard even Professor Plum is also involved in this,” while looking at Shin.

Then he paused for a moment before adding. ”And I also overheard another interesting thing. It is regarding our teammates this time.”

”Oh~!” Arthur suddenly became interested the moment he heard that before asking with an excited expression on his face. ”Are there any beautiful girls this time? Are we going to team up with hot babes this time?”

Hearing that, both Shin and Leonard turned quiet as they stared at him with a weird expression on their faces.

And the moment Arthur saw them looking at him like that, he suddenly replied in a slightly embarrassed tone. ”What!? I am just wondering if we are finally going to have those undercover assignments in fancy clothes with a beauty beside us.”

The moment Shin and Leonard heard that, they suddenly turned their heads at each other before shaking their heads helplessly while smiling bitterly. ʼThis guy is really hopeless.ʼ
