I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

Chapter 304: Chapter 205: Elder Zhi Has Spoken

The private message was titled: The Plight of Over-treatment for Cervical Erosion and a Plea for Help.

The sender’s ID was ”FlowingCreek.”

Jiang He knew in an instant. It was definitely Cheng Xiyao.

The private message read as follows:

”Elder Zhi, hello. I apologize for the intrusion.”

”I’m a medical student, and I’m currently conducting a field study on cervical erosion. In the course of my research, I’ve discovered that some private hospitals are severely over-treating what is a normal physiological phenomenon.”

”Countless women who lack basic medical knowledge are diagnosed with cervical erosion. They not only bear a huge psychological burden but are also scammed into undergoing all sorts of expensive physical therapies—even surgical removal. This often leads to severe complications or even lifelong infertility.”

”I’ve tried to educate them, explaining that it’s just a normal physiological condition called columnar ectopy and not a disease at all. But my words carry little weight. The doctors at those private hospitals use the medical reports to scare them, and I’m just a student who hasn’t even graduated. No one is willing to believe me.”

”Elder Zhi, I know you are a titan in this field. Every word you say carries immense weight in the medical community.”

”I implore you, could you please make a post on the forum to educate people about this? I want to print it out and give it to the women who’ve been scammed, as an endorsement from you. If a heavyweight like you speaks out, they might believe what I’m saying. I’m begging you!”

Jiang He could feel Cheng Xiyao’s sense of powerlessness.

In ’08, all sorts of private andrology and gynecology clinics were plastering advertisements all over utility poles.

This information asymmetry led to countless people being ripped off.

Jiang He didn’t hesitate.

This was a great thing for the public good, after all.

A doctor’s duty isn’t just to save lives on the operating table, but to save people from harmful ideas as well.

And so, Zhiyu, who hadn’t been active in a long time, published a post:

Setting the Record Straight: Cervical Erosion Is Not a Disease. Stop the Unjustified Over-Intervention!

Jiang He laid out in detail the physiological mechanism of columnar epithelium eversion caused by the influence of estrogen.

The article harshly condemned the medical practice of exploiting this phenomenon for profit.

The post instantly appeared on the forum’s front page.

Cheng Xiyao had no idea that the favor Jiang He had just done for her was far greater than she could have ever imagined.

Ever since Jiang He, using Zhiyu’s identity, had averted the H1N1 crisis and issued treatment guidelines, the higher-ups had placed this ID on a special watch list.

There were dedicated personnel monitoring Zhiyu’s account activity 24/7.

Within ten minutes of Jiang He hitting the send button,

the staffer on duty immediately printed out the newly published post, placed it in a file, and sent it to the leadership’s desk.

Elder Zhi had spoken up, and he was talking about the chaotic state of local gynecology practices.

This meant that a thunderous, nationwide crackdown on over-treatment in private hospitals was imminent.

...

「Meanwhile, in a women’s dormitory at Southern Medical University.」

Cheng Xiyao sat cross-legged on her bed, dressed in her pajamas.

Ever since sending that private message, she had been refreshing the forum dozens of times a day.

Truthfully, she wasn’t holding her breath.

A person of Elder Zhi’s stature was surely swamped with countless important matters; how could he possibly have time for such a minor, grassroots educational effort?

”Sigh...”

Cheng Xiyao sighed, rubbed her eyes, and prepared to turn off her computer and go to sleep.

Just then, the envelope icon in the top-right corner of her browser suddenly started flashing.

Cheng Xiyao grabbed her mouse and clicked on it.

[Zhiyu]: Noted.

Below it was a link.

The link redirected her.

Cheng Xiyao: ”!!!!”

In the next moment, Cheng Xiyao’s vision blurred.

Large tears splattered onto her keyboard.

’Elder Zhi agreed!’

’The great, unapproachable medical titan was actually willing to personally step in and speak out, all because of a plea for help from a nobody like me!’

”This is wonderful... Just wonderful...”

Wiping away her tears, Cheng Xiyao began to type a frantic reply.

”Thank you! Elder Zhi! I’m so, so grateful!”

”You have no idea how many people your post will save! On behalf of all those desperate women with nowhere to turn, I want to get on my knees and thank you!”

”I will definitely print out your guidance and give it to everyone! Thank you! You’re truly a living saint!”

After sending her reply, Cheng Xiyao still felt it wasn’t enough to express the excitement bubbling inside her.

She grabbed her phone and immediately fired off more than ten messages in her project group’s QQ chat.

[Cheng Xiyao]: AHHHHHHHHHH!

[Cheng Xiyao]: Big news! HUGE NEWS!

[Cheng Xiyao]: Elder Zhi made a post! He personally endorsed our project group!!!

[Cheng Xiyao]: Go look at Dingxiang Garden! Quick!

After sending the messages, she hugged her laptop on the bed, laughing and crying at the same time.

「Back in the men’s dormitory.」

Jiang He looked at the long string of messages from Cheng Xiyao and scratched his head.

’This... Is this going to make Xiaocheng worship me even more blindly?’

’Ah, forget it. If she wants to worship me, let her. I’m not going to worry about it.’

’I’ll just have to find a chance to explain everything to her in the future.’
