Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1090: Chapter 380: What the Hell Is Chui Mountain? Annihilating Force, Bad News Strikes, Panic in the Eight Towns

The eighth year of Great Xia, April 29

Peak Mountain is actually just a small snowy mountain with an elevation of over three hundred meters.

Because this mountain rises abruptly in the snow forest, coupled with its overall sharp peak shape, Jiangxia simply named it Peak Mountain for convenience.

Peak Mountain is only more than twenty kilometers from Hongguan, so it seems unnecessary to establish a camp here, but considering that Peak Mountain Camp was set up by Jiangxia first, and Hongguan was established only after investigating the Heng River area, it can be understood.

Peak Mountain Camp is located on the northern side of this mountain.

The placement of the camp clearly shows that Jiangxia’s core purpose in establishing a camp here is to guard against Chui Mountain Town in the north.

Unfortunately, despite all the precautions, they ultimately failed to defend it.

With Duan Chang leading two troops of the Defensive Army into this place last night, Peak Mountain Camp will henceforth change its name to Chui Mountain.

However, after capturing Peak Mountain, Duan Chang has yet to feel any happiness.

For example, even though it’s already dawn, Duan Chang in the main tent of the camp hasn’t dared close his eyes, his face clearly showing signs of fear and panic.

Of course, it’s not just him; the other dozen commanders wearing Thousand Forged Armor in the main tent have expressions similar to his.

Suddenly, a person rushed in from outside, even more panicked than those in the tent, speaking urgently: “Lord Duan, they’ve arrived, the enemy army has arrived, only three kilometers away from the camp, they’ll be upon us in a few minutes.”

Boom!

Duan Chang slammed and shattered the table, standing up and gritting his teeth: “This is too much; we’ve already given up Hongguan, yet they still dare to press on Peak Mountain. Does Great Xia really think Chui Mountain is made of clay? Commander of the Eight Camps, notify everyone, Cold Resistance Level troops will follow me to face the enemy, others prepare in the barracks.”

“At your command!”

Immediately, eight people stood up and responded with hands folded; though their voices were loud, their heavy expressions as they exited the main tent showed that inwardly, they were not optimistic.

The remaining four in the tent had even worse expressions, as bad as they could get.

“My lord, facing battle during the day, we have fewer people than the enemy, and both commanders have been captured by Great Xia; there’s no chance of victory!”

Finally, Vice Commander Duan Yang spoke with a troubled face.

But as soon as he finished speaking, Duan Chang scolded him.

“No chance means we won’t fight? The Town Chief’s orders were to capture Hongguan, Peak Mountain, Longzhou, and Xuyang’s four camps. Now that Hongguan is taken by Great Xia, and Longzhou and Xuyang by Jiangxia, we can’t even hold Peak Mountain. When the Town Chief arrives, what do we have to show?”

Duan Yang’s face froze, his words immediately stuck.

“We only have two hours in daylight, we have over seven hundred Cold Resistance Level troops, and more than sixteen hundred soldiers in the barracks. Though they can’t go out to fight, they can still threaten with strong bows from indoors. Plus, I’ve already sent someone to deliver a message to the town; as soon as the Lord and Town Chief learn this, they will rush over to support us, nothing to fear!”

Recalling last night’s encounter, Duan Chang gritted his teeth in hatred.

After escaping from Hongguan camp last night, his first reaction was to retreat with over three hundred Cold Resistance Levels back to Jiangyan Camp, planning to report Great Xia’s situation to the town and figure out a way to rescue Duan Xu and Mu Zichuan.

But he quickly realized, although Hongguan was occupied, there were still three camps left in Peak Mountain, Longzhou, and Xuyang. If none of these camps were captured, he couldn’t face Town Chief Mu Longhe.

Then he immediately changed his mind, sent someone to deliver the news, and led over three hundred Cold Resistance Levels to Peak Mountain, successfully seizing it.

He set off at dawn yesterday, bringing only over three hundred Cold Resistance Levels, while over sixteen hundred Defensive Army soldiers waited to move at night. Confirming that Hongguan was already taken by Great Xia, he naturally sent word to those sixteen hundred people to head to Peak Mountain Camp first.

Of course, he didn’t forget the terrifying power of that Great Xia army. Just in case, he gathered over four hundred Cold Resistance Levels from around Jiangyan Camp.

He didn’t originally expect these four hundred people to play a role; given Jiangxia’s current situation, even knowing Peak Mountain Camp was held by Chui Mountain, they wouldn’t dare attack; and the mysterious Great Xia, having already seized Hongguan Camp, wasn’t likely to provoke Chui Mountain further by attacking Peak Mountain.

Yet he couldn’t have imagined, Great Xia would dare act so excessively!

More than twenty kilometers away is a terrifying army, how could he not send scouts to watch?

Hongguan Camp is heavily guarded, his scouts didn’t dare approach too closely, and while they couldn’t observe too much of the camp’s specifics, they could clearly see the army leaving en masse; half an hour ago, the scouts returned to report that the Golden Armor Army was marching quickly towards Peak Mountain Camp. Initially, he couldn’t believe it, but after sending out three waves of scouts to confirm, he truly began to panic.

“Marching more than twenty kilometers in half an hour, it must be that Cold Resistance Level army specifically choosing to attack Peak Mountain during the day; where has this Great Xia suddenly appeared from…”

Duan Chang’s face turned extremely grim. Even now, he hasn’t figured out where this Great Xia suddenly appeared from.

“Forming a Cold Resistance army, only the northern Three Families within the Nine Towns have such strength and capability, so it’s basically certain that this Great Xia is a foreign force, audaciously invading Chui Mountain and meddling in the Nine Towns territory!”
