Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1064: Chapter 374: The Battle and Fall of Bashang, Xiang Fuhai’s Despair and Hatred, Five Great Masters

Moao Calendar Year 132, May 1st, Night

Looking back over the past half year, starting from the capture of the two villages of Jinbi Dragon River, Dajue Temple and Jiangxia Town have fought three major battles at Hongguan, Peak Mountain, and Longzhou, followed by three more major battles against Bashang at Zouyang, Qing Valley, and Jiuqu.

These six major battles involved over one hundred thousand participants from both sides. If we also count the smaller skirmishes, then over the past half year, the number of battles fought by Dajue Temple, even if not a hundred, would be pretty close.

Whether for the commanders or soldiers, battlefield experience is gradually accumulated one battle at a time. From this perspective, the army of Dajue Temple undoubtedly received the best training over the past six months.

Though some soldiers were gradually added in later, Commander Yan Xin, Deputy Commander Wu Chen, alongside numerous Bhikkhus, the several hundred with Cold Resistance Level from Qinghepu, and over fifty thousand Earth-digging Realm soldiers, all fought from Hongguan to the current battle.

There isn’t the slightest doubt in calling them a battle-hardened force.

And at this moment, these fifty thousand battle-hardened troops are standing at the forefront of the formation.

In front of them stand more than four thousand Bhikkhus.

Unlike before, they are now clad in Thousand Forged Armor.

And it’s not just these four thousand or so Bhikkhus; at this moment, the commander Yan Xin, deputy commander Wu Chen, and all the Cold Resistance Level troops in the army are all wearing a set of Thousand Forged Armor.

This armor, of course, is thanks to Jiangxia Town.

”We’ve been preparing our army for three or four hours. Such a good chance, yet Bashang is unwilling to take the initiative to strike. It seems they are really determined to hold out and defend...”

Standing at the forefront, Yan Xin looked at the distant Bashang City Gate, eyes filled with a chilling aura. He turned and said softly to Wu Chen: ”With the revered master taking action, breaking open the Bashang City Gate won’t be difficult. The challenge lies in completely breaking through. Junior brother, once the revered master orders the attack on the city, I’ll lead the vanguard to break the gate. You take the rear guard to support me.”

”Understood, elder brother!”

The two exchanged only these words and then fell silent.

From the time the army began gathering after nightfall to when the formation was fully set up, it took over four hours. The Ice Abyss night only lasts ten hours, meaning almost half the night had passed.

If it were just an individual or a few people standing there without any Cold Resistance methods, they certainly couldn’t endure half a night. Fortunately, sixteen thousand soldiers stood together, their surging energy and blood generated heat waves that raised the surrounding temperatures, so everyone hardly felt the cold.

As soon as there was movement in Dajue Temple’s camp, the defenders inside Bashang City immediately reacted, yet despite their readiness, they still didn’t encounter an attack from the enemy. With Dajue Temple making no move, all they could do was continue to wait.

As seconds and minutes passed, the already tense atmosphere grew even more oppressive as the temperature rapidly declined.

Buzz......

About three hours later, until there were just two hours left till dawn, a humming sound suddenly emanated from the sky ahead of the military front.

All the soldiers raised their heads sharply, only to see two old monks in yellow robes quietly appearing in the air without anyone knowing when.

The monk on the left had an unusually robust build; the one on the right was holding a red long spear over a meter long. The two simply looked at Bashang City across the distance, their expressions incredibly calm, showing none of the demeanor of those about to attack a city.

”Greetings to Great Awakening Yan Long Master!”

”Greetings to Great Awakening Vajra Master!”

The sixteen thousand soldiers below bent in unison to pay respects upon seeing the two. It didn’t even require looking at their expressions to discern, just from their voices, the extent of their fervor for these two masters.

”Yan Xin, lead the army to attack the city!”

Yan Long Master wasted no words, directly ordering the attack.

Nine Towns of Moao Mountain, strictly speaking, each had rather vast territories. Even Dragon Valley Town, which had the smallest territory, governed thirty-nine village-level camps.

Xuyang Camp, ceded by Jiangxia, was territory outside the town; after Qing Valley Camp fell, Xiang Fuhai attempted to cede land for peace, ceding land that was also outside the town. The actions of these two towns made it clear what attitude each town had toward the village-level camps under its jurisdiction.

Village-level camps are utterly unimportant; the towns’ existence is the foundation of the Nine Towns.

With the army at the town’s gate, Dajue Temple clearly realized that there was no longer any need for negotiation with Bashang Town, so once the two great masters appeared, they directly ordered the attack on the city.

As Yan Long Master finished speaking, even before the army moved, Vajra Master transformed into a golden light, rushing toward the city gate.

His figure was originally robust, over two meters tall. His muscles, knotted and bulging, instantly swelled by another thirty to forty percent, resembling a golden giant, crashing directly into the northern side of Bashang Town. The gate, nine meters wide and fifteen meters high, made of cast iron, stood before him.

Bam!

The enormous city gate shook violently. The force of seven jun unleashed a shockwave that not only impacted the city walls, but even the ground below was shaken. The entire Bashang City trembled instantly, almost like a severe earthquake.

Hundreds of the soldiers stationed above the city gate were sent flying by the shockwave, some of the unluckiest Earth-digging Realm ones standing directly above the impact area were directly bleeding from the seven orifices, losing their lives.

The massive city gate, of unknown thickness, was struck by Vajra Master, and a large hole about half a meter in diameter was formed.

Through the hole, Vajra Master saw the thousands of defenders behind the city gate, propping up the gate with chains and iron stakes. A flash of blood-red glinted in his eyes as he suddenly gathered strength in his hands, hammering the gate once more.
