Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 697: Chapter 300: Advancing Career and Romance Simultaneously!

Zhang Jingdong said confidently, ”You know, don’t you? My Bugatti Veyron has crashed and is still being repaired, and my Enzo Ferrari is being used by Jieyu, so I don’t have a car right now.”

”Then how did you get here just now?”

”Took a taxi.”

Lin Qingci was shocked, ”I didn’t expect such a wealthy boss like you to be so down-to-earth!”

Zhang Jingdong pouted, ”What’s the big deal? When I first started college, there was a time I went to the city for fun, and to save two bucks on the bus fare, I walked over ten kilometers back to school.”

Lin Qingci’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise, ”...You’re really something.”

Then the two of them arrived at Lin Qingci’s Porsche 911.

Seeing Zhang Jingdong naturally open the car door and get into her car, Lin Qingci felt a bit embarrassed, but she didn’t stop him.

But the fact was, in all her years of driving, she had never let a man sit in her passenger seat before.

Lin Qingci silently prayed that Jieyu wouldn’t see this, then secretly glanced sideways at Zhang Jingdong in the car before finally getting in gracefully.

After closing the car door and seeing Zhang Jingdong openly admiring the interior of her car, Lin Qingci couldn’t help but ask, ”Where should we eat?”

Zhang Jingdong heard the teasing tone in her voice, looked at her, and playfully suggested, ”Mingyue Building.”

Lin Qingci was amused, ”Hot pot for lunch? What are you thinking?”

”Who says you can’t have hot pot for lunch?”

”No way, I need to work in the afternoon!”

”Then how about some spicy dishes?”

”Nope, that’ll make me sweat too much.”

Zhang Jingdong sighed, ”Let’s go to Natural Inn, is that okay?”

Lin Qingci then noticed the mischievous smile at the corner of his mouth, realizing he was teasing her on purpose.

So she shot him a look, then started the car smartly and quickly drove off.

On the way, Zhang Jingdong glanced ahead at the Toyota Land Cruiser blocking the way and casually asked, ”How long have you been driving?”

Although still a bit annoyed with him and now being cut off by another driver, Lin Qingci didn’t really want to acknowledge him.

But since it seemed like he was trying to make peace, she replied, ”Six or seven years, why?”

”How much did you pay to get your driver’s license back then?”

”Learning to drive, you mean? It wasn’t much, I don’t quite remember, why?”

Zhang Jingdong feigned surprise, ”You actually learned how to drive?”

Lin Qingci now understood what Zhang Jingdong meant, ”Of course, I learned, how else could I dare to drive on the road?”

”Well, I must say you and He Jieyu are true best friends, your driving skills are quite evenly matched.”

Lin Qingci finally couldn’t hold back, ”What’s wrong with my driving? I’m doing just fine!”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head with a smile, then reached out with his left hand to hold the steering wheel, ”Let go of the wheel with both your hands!”

Lin Qingci was a bit panicked, ”What are you doing? How can you joke like that?”

”Just let go, I’ll show you what real driving is like.”

Though still doubtful, it seemed evident to Lin Qingci that Zhang Jingdong was not joking.

Moreover, being a billionaire, he wouldn’t joke with his life if he wasn’t completely confident.

So she slowly let go of the wheel.

Then, Zhang Jingdong said, ”Step on the gas!”

After Lin Qingci did as told, Zhang Jingdong deftly maneuvered with one hand, and the car smoothly overtook the Toyota Land Cruiser that was blocking them.

However, the Toyota was quite stubborn and quickly caught up again.

Looking in the rearview mirror, Zhang Jingdong instructed, ”Slow down!”

Seeing that Zhang Jingdong wanted to engage in a little challenge with the other car, Lin Qingci said, ”Let’s just forget it, they’re not blocking us anymore!”

Zhang Jingdong laughed, ”The guy is obviously not giving up and keeps provoking us. Since we’ve got nothing better to do, let’s mess around with him a bit!”

Maybe it was Zhang Jingdong’s confidence or the thrill she felt earlier, but Lin Qingci actually listened to him and slowed down.

For the next five minutes, Zhang Jingdong maneuvered the Porsche 911 like playing a game of whack-a-mole with the Toyota Land Cruiser behind them.

Every time the other tried to overtake, Zhang Jingdong precisely blocked their path, and whenever they seemed about to crash into him, he quickly pulled away.

The other driver, clearly infuriated, suddenly charged straight toward them!

Now Lin Qingci was getting a bit anxious.

”What do we do? They’re really going to hit us!”

Zhang Jingdong remained calm as ever, ”Step on the gas, all the way!”

Lin Qingci hurriedly did as instructed.

Just as the Toyota Land Cruiser was less than 5 meters away and about to crash into them, the Porsche 911 suddenly darted to the right side of the Toyota, then accelerated in a straight line, quickly disappearing from sight.

Five minutes later, after an exceptionally smooth lateral parking maneuver, they were parked neatly in the last remaining space in the outer row of the Natural Inn’s parking lot.

Seeing such skillful overtaking and capability earlier had already impressed Lin Qingci, but his mind-blowing parking had her completely awestruck by Zhang Jingdong’s driving prowess!

Normally, it took her at least three to five minutes to park, and she never dared attempt to park in such tight spaces before.

Yet Zhang Jingdong managed it with a single swift motion using only his left hand.

To her, this was just unbelievable!

Lin Qingci couldn’t help but marvel, ”Boss Zhang, I never expected you’d be such an amazing driver!”

”The host has received genuine praise from the target character, reward: 100,000 yuan!”

Hearing this, and seeing Lin Qingci’s admiring expression, Zhang Jingdong felt quite proud inside.

”Have you always been too shy to ask others for driving tips?”

Lin Qingci paused, then asked, surprised, ”How did you know?”

”It’s simple, really. Generally, top-notch students like you are too proud, so you excel at most fields out of a sense of superiority.”

”And if there are fields where you’re not so good, it’s usually for two reasons: you’re not interested or you’re too shy to ask for help.”

In a rare moment of self-deprecation, Lin Qingci chuckled, ”Alright, I admit it.”

Zhang Jingdong seized the opportunity, ”In the future, how about I teach you how to drive? As for the fee, how about a meal each time?”

Maybe it was because Zhang Jingdong sounded so genuine, without any hint of ulterior motives, or perhaps Lin Qingci genuinely wanted to improve her driving skills.

She nodded directly, ”Sure, no problem!”
