Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Can You Pretend to Be My Boyfriend? (Seeking followers, dear readers)

Zhang Jingdong followed Lin Han outside.

The orange Lamborghini Gallardo was parked gorgeously by the roadside.

And now it belonged to him!

Zhang Jingdong walked up to the car with excitement, carefully checked the bodywork, and then turned to Lin Han, ”Everything seems fine, can I drive it away now?”

Lin Han passed the car key to Zhang Jingdong, seizing the chance to throw him another huge flirtatious glance: ”Of course, if you have any problems later, feel free to contact me... Have a smooth ride!”

Zhang Jingdong took the keys with a nonchalant smile, then got into the car.

Starting the engine, Zhang Jingdong revved it a few times, the roar as wild as a bull’s bellow.

Zhang Jingdong felt an instant rush.

After some maneuvers, he slammed on the accelerator again, feeling the strong pushback, and in a blink, the car disappeared from its original spot.

After just ten minutes of driving, Zhang Jingdong had two profound realizations.

One was that the car’s power and handling were just too amazing, basically allowing him to overtake anyone he wished.

The other was that the car was frickin’ stylish, attracting so much attention!

Slowing down a bit, he could see the envious and curious glances from the people around him.

And every time he stopped at a red light, other drivers would start conversations politely or give him a thumbs-up.

All this greatly satisfied Zhang Jingdong’s vanity.

After all, spending several million on such a treasure, wasn’t it all for the sake of face?

Zhang Jingdong drove around on the busiest East City Avenue and Jiangguo Road, and only as it was nearing 6 p.m. did he park the car in front of East River Art College.

He took out his phone and sent a message to Lin Xiran: I just happened to pass by your school, are you free tonight? I’d like to take you out for dinner.

But after waiting a full five minutes, Lin Xiran didn’t reply.

Zhang Jingdong frowned slightly: Huh? That’s unlikely, did I misjudge? Or is she still with her sister?

It wasn’t that Lin Xiran was ignoring him on purpose; she hadn’t seen the message at all.

She was discussing the evening’s plans with her dormitory friends.

Because today was her 19th birthday.

The reason she went shopping with Lin Xirui during the day, too, was to celebrate each other’s birthdays.

At this moment, Lin Huahua said, ”Ranran, it’s too dull just us tonight, let me find you a few handsome guys, and you can pick one to be your boyfriend!”

”Just right for the last day of your 19 years old, to successfully shake off being single! Even if it lasts just a week before breaking up!”

Chu Xue said, ”Stop it, do you think Ranran is like you, daring to go after anyone who’s a bit good-looking?”

”Our Ranran is the dignified belle of the school; how can we just introduce anyone to her? Leave it to me.”

”Ranran, this time I’ll definitely introduce you to a true prince—handsome, wealthy, talented—a guy who can totally outshine Dao Mingsi!”

At that moment, Xu Jia said indifferently, ”You’re talking about Chen Tao from the oil painting department, right?”

Chu Xue suddenly felt a bit guilty, ”You... how did you know?”

”I accidentally saw a few of you at the café that day, he must’ve bribed you, right?”

Chu Xue pouted slightly, ”I admit he did ask for my help, but I didn’t just agree blindly. He’s genuinely outstanding, and he comes from a good family!”

Xu Jia teased, ”He’s indeed a true prince, but the number of his ex-girlfriends at our college could probably form a class, right?”

Chu Xue was at a loss for words, ”That’s... I don’t know much about that... but...”

Seeing that they were arguing endlessly, although Lin Xiran didn’t like it, she didn’t feel comfortable flat-out denying.

Subconsciously, she took out her phone and glanced at the time.

Finding an unread message, she thought it was from Lin Xirui, so she opened it.

But to her surprise, it turned out to be from Zhang Jingdong!

She hesitated for a moment, then said, ”I’m going to return a call.”

And walked right out of the dormitory.

At the end of the corridor, she dialed Zhang Jingdong’s number.

It rang three times before the other end picked up: ”Hello...”

Lin Xiran bit her lower lip and asked, ”Where are you now?”

”I’m still at the entrance of your school, what about you?”

”I’m in the dormitory.”

”Were you busy just now?”

Lin Xiran hesitated for a moment, then said, ”I... it’s my birthday today, I was just discussing with my dorm mates about how to celebrate tonight.”

”Ah, I see. Happy birthday then, and I hope you all have fun tonight. I’ll contact you another day!”

”Wait a minute...”

Seeing that Zhang Jingdong was about to hang up the phone, Lin Xiran hurriedly stopped him.

Zhang Jingdong hesitated before asking, ”Hm? What’s up?”

”You... did you just pass by our school by chance, or did you come to see me on purpose?”

Seeing that the girl had actually brought this up, Zhang Jingdong responded, ”What do you think?”

”I... how would I know.”

Zhang Jingdong teased, ”Half and half, I suppose. I could have taken a shortcut, but then I thought about passing by your school and felt like seeing you.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Xiran pondered for a full ten seconds before speaking, ”Then could you do me a favor?”

”Name the favor!”

”Could you... pretend to be my boyfriend later?”

”Don’t get me wrong... the thing is right now...”

Lin Xiran was just about to explain her reason for making this request when Zhang Jingdong cut in directly, ”Sure, no problem!”

Lin Xiran was taken aback and then heard Zhang Jingdong continue, ”So let’s just push back our real encounter to two weeks ago, and say that we formally established our relationship yesterday. This way, those roommates of yours won’t easily spot any flaws!”

Lin Xiran was utterly flabbergasted!

His reaction was too fast, could it be that he often does this kind of thing?

But since he had agreed to help, Lin Xiran quickly said, ”Alright, let’s do as you said.”

Zhang Jingdong confidently declared, ”Don’t worry, when the time comes I’ll make sure the act is crystal clear!”

”What time are you guys heading out?”

”We’re still waiting for two more people, so we won’t be able to leave until around 7, but I can come to find you earlier.”

”No need, actually. I can use that hour to prepare some props.”

”Props?” Lin Xiran asked hesitantly. ”Isn’t that a bit too complicated?”

”Don’t worry, leave it to me. You’ll see!”

Saying so, Zhang Jingdong hung up the phone directly.

”Beep beep...”

Lin Xiran stared blankly at her phone, suddenly finding Zhang Jingdong to be quite whimsical.

But now that she had asked for his help, she had no choice but to go through with the act.

So, she turned around and headed back to her dorm.

Meanwhile, Xu Jia and the others were still talking about setting her up with a boyfriend.

Lin Xiran then interjected, ”Hold on a second, I have something I haven’t told you all—I already have a boyfriend!”

The moment she said this, the whole dorm fell silent.

Then, surprised voices erupted.

”Ranran, you... you’re kidding, right?”

”Ranran, how is that possible? Which college is he from? How come we’ve never seen you with him?”

Lin Xiran forced herself to stay calm, ”He’s not from our school. We met outside.”

”We haven’t known each other for long, just two weeks, and we only made our relationship official yesterday.”

Chu Xue couldn’t help but ask, ”Then... what’s his situation like? Ranran, I don’t mean anything by it, but you’re such a catch, you should find someone who’s a match for you!”

Lin Xiran paused for a moment before saying, ”I think he’s pretty great—mature, funny, and looks decent...”

At that moment, Chu Xue inquired with subtle implication, ”What kind of car does he drive then?”

Lin Xiran instantly felt a bit guilty because she hadn’t actually seen Zhang Jingdong driving a car; it seemed like he had left on foot.

However, from the tone of Zhang Jingdong’s voice on the phone earlier, it seemed like he had a car.

So she said, ”I... I haven’t seen what brand it is, nor have I ever asked him about it.”

Chu Xue sensed Lin Xiran’s insecurity and followed up, ”Then it’s not a Mercedes, BMW, or Audi, right? Ranran, you should really be careful!”

”A true rich second generation, like Chen Tao, at the very least drives a BMW! If he can’t even afford a BMW, then you’re selling yourself short!”

Lin Xiran pursed her lips and said, ”I think what car he drives isn’t that important. What matters most is him as a person. As long as I’m happy with him, I think that’s pretty good!”

Chu Xue smiled and shook her head with a meaningful expression, ”Ranran, you’re too naive!”
