The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1313: Great Shen Empire: Last Chance

Erkigal stared at Ice Death from afar.

She knew that ‘the thing’ shouldn’t fall into the hands of the Gluttony Army. She just had a bad feeling about this.

After all, it involved a higher existence.

If she offended a Monster Lord, even if she had nine lives, she wouldn’t be able to keep her life.

The smile on Ice Death’s face disappeared. He looked at Erkigal and muttered, “It seems that we have to use force to make you tell us where it is.”

Teng Guan and Poisonous Vine stepped forward, facing Isabella and Erkigal, while Ice Death and Green King remained in their positions.

“I’ll say this. Everyone in this place will die today, and no one will escape.” Teng Guan laughed.

Several lights descended from above like meteorites.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Smoke covered the surroundings, and when it dissipated, more than ten people appeared on the battlefield.

They surrounded Isabella and Erkigal.

They were the subordinates of Green King.

Erkigal and Isabella stood side by side, looking at the disadvantageous situation they were in.

The situation wasn’t looking good for them.

Their lives and deaths were at stake at this moment.

“Don’t hold back anything,” Erkigal said.

Isabella nodded.

Green King’s subordinates were on a different level compared to the others. Each one of them was a powerhouse in their own right. The aura they exuded made the ground tremble.

There were only twelve of them, yet all of them were at the Eight Shackle Realm.

Erkigal and Isabella took a deep breath.

In an instant, the silence was broken.

Whooosh!!

They clashed in midair, and shockwaves swept out once again.

Erkigal leaped into the air, her entire body blazing with intense flames. She thrust her hands forward, throwing balls of fire at her opponents.

“Again!! You’re going to die this time!! You can’t escape from us again!!” Teng Guan laughed as he erupted with flames.

His flames collided with Erkigal’s.

The temperature of the surroundings sharply increased by dozens of times, reaching ten thousand degrees. Everything around them ignited in flames, even the air itself.

In a fraction of a second, Teng Guan was blasted away and crashed into the ground.

Bang!

Poisonous Vine dashed across the ground, looking at Erkigal in midair. Tightening her grip on her whip, she slashed it through the air.

At the same time, five people charged toward Erkigal from different directions. All of them brandished their weapons, unleashing their combat arts and spells.

Erkigal gritted her teeth as the flames around her intensified. She put both of her hands together, condensing a ball of highly concentrated flames.

In the next moment, she pressed both of her palms against it. The flames flowed through her veins, and her eyes lit up with immense power.

Sizzle!

Before the attacks of the five people and Poisonous Vine’s whip could even land, an enormous phantom of flames materialized out of thin air and surged forward.

RAAARGH!!

Erkigal roared as her energy rose to its limit.

Poisonous Vine and the others widened their eyes in shock. They saw the two nearest people being grabbed by the giant flame phantom. In the next second, their bodies turned to ashes.

Their energy exploded and scattered into the atmosphere.

Swoosh!!

Poisonous Vine hurriedly pulled back her whip, sensing the immense heat that was melting through her natural defenses even from a distance.

The other three people scattered, distancing themselves from the flame phantom.

However, the flame phantom surged forward at high speed.

The direction of the target…

Ohm!

It passed through everyone and arrived in front of Ice Death and Green King.

The two raised their eyebrows in surprise. They didn’t expect Erkigal to directly target the two of them.

The flame phantom glowed brilliantly.

Then, its body expanded before it exploded.

BOOOMM!!

An immense explosion erupted, shaking the entirety of Yunze City. It formed a field that expanded outward like a dome, swallowing everything in sight.

The light it emitted was so powerful that it illuminated the entire land as if it were morning.

Poisonous Vine, Teng Guan, and the others were blasted away by the sheer force of the shockwave.

They were all at the Eight Shackle Realm, yet the shockwave still threw them away. One could see just how powerful the explosion was from this alone.

It felt as if a sun had been ignited before them.

Ohm!

Erkigal didn’t resist either. She allowed the shockwave from the explosion to push her body away. In fact, she was already exhausted. She hadn’t fully recovered yet, and she was already here fighting extremely powerful enemies.

Images flashed through her mind.

She couldn’t help but remember the time when they had just arrived in this land.

“Are we safe here?” Isabella asked.

“No, but it’s safer than our previous location. Those people from the Alliance Force won’t chase us here,” Erkigal assured her.

“I hope so…” Isabella said, looking at the unconscious Eilan. “I have to protect him. He’s the only one I found alive. Astros… It’s gone.”

At that time, they were still unfamiliar with the Great Shen Empire. They didn’t know anything about this place. Their strength wasn’t that high, but they persevered.

The destruction of Astros had dealt everyone a tremendous blow.

Erkigal snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the sky. She turned her head and found that the shockwave had pushed her quite far away.

Swoosh!

Isabella suddenly appeared beside her. She grabbed Erkigal’s hand before opening up the space behind them.

This was part of their plan.

They knew that they wouldn’t be able to defeat the remnants of the Gluttony Army. They didn’t stand a chance if they kept fighting, so they planned to escape.

Earlier, when Erkigal woke up, she found herself in the Heavenly Potion Pavilion. She immediately sensed several immense energy fluctuations battling throughout the city.

The barrier around the pavilion was shattered by the aftershocks of the battles outside. Erkigal forced herself to stand up, and when Ice Death’s subordinates arrived to take her away, she killed them before heading toward the battlefield.

She told Eilan to leave with everyone, as the battle was going to engulf everything within the city. She knew that, in her current condition, she wouldn’t last long in the battle, which was why she had to bring Isabella with her.

The enemies wouldn’t stop even if she told them what she knew. The Gluttony Army, which had invaded numerous countries and killed countless people, wasn’t going to spare them.

It was the same for the other factions and countries.

They weren’t going to spare the Gluttony Army either. That’s why, after Gluttony fell, they hunted down the members of the Gluttony Army until they became fragmented and scattered across the continent.

Whooosh!!

Isabella and Erkigal disappeared from the spot.

The two appeared outside the city, several kilometers away.

Thud!

Erkigal fell to her knees, coughing up a mouthful of blood. Her hands were shaking, and they were slowly becoming numb.

“Sister Erkigal, are you okay?” Isabella supported Erkigal with a worried expression on her face. She had been there when Erkigal was treated, so she knew that Erkigal shouldn’t be pushing herself.

“I’m fine.” Erkigal forced a smile onto her face.

“Just hold on. I’ll move us again.” Isabella grabbed hold of the space around them.

“Don’t leave. You’re only making us work harder.”

A raspy voice echoed.

Isabella’s eyes constricted when she heard the voice. She looked up in horror and saw two people walking toward them.

They were Ice Death and Green King.

But how?

She looked at her surroundings, only to find that they were back in the Heavenly Potion Pavilion.

She was sure that she had moved them outside the city, so how had they returned here without her noticing?

Cough!

Erkigal forced herself to stand.

“Isabella, stand back.”

She stood in front of Isabella, facing Ice Death and Green King while wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.

Ice Death wore a faint smile as he looked at the determined eyes of Erkigal.

“You managed to escape before, but it’s different this time since those two aren’t here. We’ve already killed all the people who went there, and you’re the only one who is still alive. I’ll give you credit for that.”

Poisonous Vine, Teng Guan, and the others had arrived. They surrounded the Heavenly Potion Pavilion, and they weren’t going to let anyone leave this place.

Ice Death stepped forward, looking at the burn marks on his hand.

“Still, that last attack of yours… It’s something else. I can see that you’re developing your own Archetype. You might become a strong expert in the future. No, you already are. It’s just that we’re stronger.”

He removed his gaze from the burn marks and stared at Erkigal.

“I’ll give you one last chance. Tell us what you know and where she is. I’ll give the two of you a painless death if you do. If not, then I’ll torture the two of you and chase after those who left.”

Green King remained silent, letting Ice Death lead the conversation.

Erkigal took a step forward. Her knees buckled, and she fell to the ground, her body shaking heavily.

“SISTER ERKIGAL!!”

The consequences of using too much power had arrived.

Thanks for reading and I hope you like it.
