The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1309: Great Shen Empire: Isabella vs. Teng Guan

In the outskirts of Yunze City,

Eilan and the rest of the Heavenly Potion Pavilion’s people were blasted toward the shore by some kind of powerful force.

“Cough!”

Eilan coughed up a mouthful of blood while still carrying Erkigal on his back. He raised his head toward the waters and saw Isabella’s back.

“Sister Isabella!!”

Isabella stood motionless with her back toward the others. Her right arm dangled at her side, covered in blood and riddled with holes. Her clothes had turned completely red from her own blood.

Facing her were four terrifying figures.

A voluptuous woman with long hair, wearing revealing clothes and wielding a sharp whip.

Poisonous Vine.

A hooded old man with eyes filled with killing intent. His arms were clad in red-colored gauntlets.

Teng Guan.

A handsome man with a pair of green eyes and long black hair. He looked calm, yet the atmosphere around him was cold, almost as if it could freeze space itself.

Ice Death.

A tall and thin man with a nonchalant expression. Despite the calmness in his eyes, he gave off a strange feeling, as if death itself was approaching.

Green King.

These four people carried immense aura around them. Standing close to them were enough to suffocate ordinary people to death.

Upon seeing these four people, Eilan and the rest of the Heavenly Potion Pavilion’s members became stiff.

They felt as if they were standing before higher beings.

It was the instinct of a prey when faced with a predator.

The atmosphere was heavy.

Eilan and the others trembled violently as beads of sweat formed on their foreheads. Their breathing became heavy, as if they had just experienced a life-and-death situation.

The presence of the four enemies who had arrived was terrifying.

Especially the two at the back.

Eilan looked at Ice Death and Green King.

Their pressure bore down on everyone without distinguishing between friend or foe.

Ice Death glanced at Isabella before shifting his gaze toward Eilan.

He slowly raised his hand and said, “We want that red-haired girl on your back. Can you give her to us?”

Eilan and Isabella widened their eyes. They hadn’t imagined that the target of these people would be Erkigal.

Eilan tightened his grip around Erkigal as sweat dripped down his entire body. He felt as if he could die at any moment.

“Eilan!! Run!!” Isabella shouted. Her voice contained mana that snapped everyone out of their thoughts.

Eilan looked at Isabella’s back and subconsciously gulped. He realized what Isabella was about to do.

“Sister Isabella…”

He muttered before turning around and running toward the Heavenly Potion Pavilion as fast as he could. Erkigal was unconscious right now, and he couldn’t let the enemy take her away.

Whooosh!!

Suddenly, a shadow appeared beside Eilan.

It was the old man with the red gauntlets.

“Give her to me,” Teng Guan said before throwing a punch.

Bang!!

A tremendous force landed.

The ground burst open, and the rubble in the surroundings was instantly blown away.

“Huh?”

Teng Guan stopped in mid-air as he glanced at his fist.

He felt like he hadn’t hit his target, which was strange. He should have hit his target, but for some reason, he didn’t feel the sensation of hitting someone.

Teng Guan turned around and saw that the rest of the people from the Heavenly Potion Pavilion had vanished.

Only Isabella was left standing alone.

Isabella took a deep breath as she looked at Teng Guan before glancing at the other three, who stood calmly.

‘I’ve managed to teleport the others, but I know that it will only buy us a little time. These guys are strong. Even I’m not confident I can confront them directly.’

She said inwardly as she patted her pocket, feeling the bottles of potions inside.

At this moment, Green King and Ice Death looked at Isabella with interest.

“Spatial Ability…”

“What a rare find.”

Both of them had clearly seen what Isabella had just done. They saw her fold the fabric of space and open it in another location, transporting everyone out of sight.

Isabella would’ve escaped too, but in that instant, Ice Death froze the space for a moment, preventing her from escaping.

…

Isabella raised her senses to their limit. Her breathing was ragged, and her body was drenched in sweat. Her fingers, tightly wrapped around her daggers, were trembling.

The enemies this time were simply too powerful.

She had been just about to jump through the space when someone froze it.

And the enemies’ target was Erkigal.

She hadn’t expected it at all.

What’s worse, the Gluttony Army had set up a sensory formation around the city, allowing them to detect anyone who left, even if they used spatial traversal.

‘What do they want from Erkigal?’

‘Are they the reason she returned with injuries?’

Isabella took a deep breath.

Teng Guan suddenly took a step forward, causing the rubble to shoot up into the air.

“If none of you is going to make a move, then leave this to me.”

The ground shook as he charged forward like a meteorite. Dense red energy coated his entire body before igniting.

Sizzle!!

Teng Guan arrived in front of Isabella in less than a second. His hands blurred as he launched a barrage of flaming punches.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Isabella gritted her teeth as she raised her daggers, precisely blocking each punch.

Although Teng Guan was powerful, he wasn’t strong enough to overwhelm her.

She was agile, moving left and right as her daggers danced through the air. Every movement she made was precise, ensuring that not a single punch touched her body.

Clang! Clang!

Metallic sounds reverberated as the daggers swiftly collided with the gauntlets.

The surrounding rubble and debris were disintegrated under the might of the two experts.

Ice Death, Green King, and Poisonous Vine remained in their positions, calmly observing the battle between Isabella and Teng Guan.

“Oh, to think that she could match Old Teng.” Poisonous Vine raised her eyebrows in amusement.

From their point of view, the Great Shen Empire wasn’t a particularly large country, so there were barely any experts here who could match them. Only powerful experts trained by the Large Countries and Holy Lands could stand against them, the members of the Gluttony Army.

She turned to Ice Death and asked, “Are you going to interfere in the battle?”

Ice Death shook his head.

“Oh, so that means she’s really capable of fighting Old Teng.” Poisonous Vine said, her eyes filled with interest.

Green King glanced at Poisonous Vine and said, “You can’t underestimate anyone. You’ve grown to such a level, so you must have realized that there are a lot of experts in this world. In the past, Hero-rank experts rarely made a move, but now that the situation has become chaotic, numerous powerhouses across the world are stepping out. Even some of the higher entities are starting to take notice.”

“I know, I know, I know,” Poisonous Vine replied, waving her hand dismissively.

“Where are your men?” Ice Death asked.

“They joined Black Blader in stopping the other forces in this city. What about your men? Why don’t you order them to capture those rats who escaped earlier?”

“They’re already on their way, and they’ll bring that girl with them.”

“I see.”

…

The battle between Isabella and Teng Guan continued.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Metallic sounds echoed as the two figures collided hundreds of times in the blink of an eye. The collision of their weapons generated powerful shockwaves that spread outward, disintegrating debris and destroying buildings.

Everything within a radius of one kilometer had already been reduced to ruins.

In fact, the other experts in the city had already sensed the battle taking place here, but they were too busy dealing with their own enemies to check it out.

Isabella and Teng Guan were only testing each other. They hadn’t used their real skills yet, but the surrounding area was already being destroyed.

The corpses in the area were mangled beyond recognition. Even those who were still alive were killed by the shockwaves.

There were those whom Isabella had managed to transport to other areas, but their safety wasn’t guaranteed as long as they remained inside Yunze City.

‘I can’t… A lot of people have already died.’

Isabella felt a heaviness in her heart as she thought about the civilians who hadn’t been able to escape in time.

Teng Guan threw another punch while laughing.

“Hahaha! I saw it! You’ve killed my men! I will let you die by my hands!”

Flames burst forth from his fist, and the surrounding temperature rose sharply. The water along the shore began to boil as mist slowly rose from its surface.

Isabella looked at the approaching fist. She tilted her body to avoid it, but she knew that even if the punch didn’t hit her, the extreme heat surrounding it would still be enough to injure her.

Still, she managed to avoid a direct hit, but the flames surrounding the fist swallowed her face.

“Hmm…?”

Teng Guan frowned as he suddenly felt something.

Thanks for reading and I hope you like it.
