The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1306: Great Shen Empire: Pavilion Master

Isabella entered the main building, and an energy fluctuation erupted beneath the entire Heavenly Potion Pavilion.

Ohm!!

A semi-transparent barrier enveloped the entire territory.

The Protective Formation had been activated.

…

Inside one of the rooms, Eilan carried Erkigal on his back. He couldn’t help but sigh as he looked at her injuries.

‘If she had a parasite, it would help her recover faster…’ Eilan thought inwardly.

He carried a large bag in his left hand containing various supplies they would need for their journey back to meet Souta.

Rumble!

The ground shook for a moment.

Eilan raised his head, sensing that the atmosphere had changed.

“The barrier formation was activated?!”

He shook his head and was about to leave the room when the door opened. He saw that Isabella had returned.

“Sister Isabella, what’s happening?” he immediately asked upon seeing the solemn look on her face.

“It’s bad. The remnants of the Gluttony Army are here, attacking the city’s main forces. We have to leave now, or else we’ll get caught up in this,” Isabella said, her voice stern.

“What?! The Gluttony Army?!!” Eilan widened his eyes in shock.

He knew that whenever those people appeared, bloodshed would follow. As long as it was part of their plan, they wouldn’t care even if countless lives were caught in the aftermath.

It was one of the reasons they were hunted by numerous forces after the Gluttony Army was defeated. Every member of the Gluttony Army who appeared on the battlefield between the territories of the Angel Faction and the Fallen Angel Faction was slaughtered.

“I don’t know why they’re showing themselves here, but it’s not a good sign,” Isabella said.

Even though the Gluttony Army was being hunted down, whenever its members appeared, they still openly displayed the symbol of Gluttony on their clothes.

“Come, let’s—”

Isabella paused as she turned her head to the side.

Then, a deafening explosion erupted, shaking the entire Heavenly Potion Pavilion. The barrier formation trembled violently as glasses shattered and cabinets fell to the ground.

The expressions of Eilan and Isabella turned grim.

“They are here,” Isabella said.

Eilan nodded.

The explosion had been directed at the barrier formation protecting the Heavenly Potion Pavilion.

Although the Heavenly Potion Pavilion was quite powerful, its foundation was relatively weak compared to the other organizations in Yunze City. After all, a few months weren’t enough to firmly establish a solid foundation in the city. Moreover, Isabella knew that they weren’t going to stay here permanently, so she hadn’t invested that much money into the pavilion’s defenses and other facilities.

That’s why if the barrier formation were attacked by a Seventh Shackle Realm expert, it wouldn’t last very long.

Still, a barrier formation capable of withstanding a Seventh Shackle Realm expert was extremely expensive.

Bang!!

The ground shook once again.

“Wait for me! Hide! Don’t let anyone see you!”

Isabella said before her figure flashed and disappeared.

…

At the main gate of the Heavenly Potion Pavilion, the guards and other staff members wore gloomy expressions.

“What should we do?!!”

“Those people!! They’re from the Gluttony Army!!”

“They’re bombarding our barrier!!”

Some of the people were panicking after learning that the attackers were remnants of the Gluttony Army. They could fight anyone, but not the infamous Gluttony Army, which had once rampaged across the continent.

Swoosh!!

Isabella arrived, and everyone immediately noticed her.

They breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the Pavilion Master was with them. Although Isabella was always focused on creating potions and pills, they knew she was an extremely powerful expert. If she weren’t, she would’ve been taken by one of the other organizations in the city long ago.

“Is everyone alright?” Isabella asked, glancing left and right.

“Yes, Pavilion Master. We haven’t engaged in battle yet. The barrier is going to collapse soon,” one of them replied.

Isabella nodded before turning her attention outside the barrier. She could see the members of the Gluttony Army bombarding it with powerful skills.

There were twenty enemies outside.

Two of them were at the Seventh Shackle Realm, while the rest were either at the Sixth Shackle Realm or the Fifth Shackle Realm.

There was nothing particularly impressive among the Sixth Shackle Realm experts. Most of them were ordinary experts, so Isabella was confident that her people could handle them.

Isabella took a deep breath, and determination flashed in her eyes.

“We can’t let them destroy the barrier. I’ll step outside and handle those two Seventh Shackle Realm experts. As for the rest, I want you to fight them.”

Her voice echoed through the area.

Everyone understood why they couldn’t simply remain inside the barrier.

The barrier gave them a significant advantage, so they couldn’t allow the enemies to destroy it.

She then shook her head and thought that it wasn’t the time to let her people fight. She could handle all of them.

“For now, I’ll finish this quickly so you can conserve your strength.”

Isabella said before stepping outside the barrier.

As soon as she left the barrier, the attacks ceased. The members of the Gluttony Army turned to look at her.

A woman with long green hair tied in a ponytail stood before them, wearing a long white coat with a pair of daggers hanging from her waist.

The two Seventh Shackle Realm experts floating in the air narrowed their eyes as they stared at Isabella.

Isabella slowly swept her gaze across everyone.

Then,

She vanished before their very eyes.

“What?!!”

“She disappeared!!”

“Where is she?!”

Everyone was stunned, including the two Seventh Shackle Realm experts floating in the air. They were shocked because they couldn’t sense Isabella’s presence at all.

Suddenly, a shadow appeared behind one of the two Seventh Shackle Realm experts, and a blade descended.

[Silent Hunt: Decapitation]!

His head rolled through the air as blood spurted from his neck like a fountain.

Whoosh!!

Isabella returned to her original position, her daggers still at her waist as if they had never been unsheathed.

“Good. One down.”

She looked at the remaining enemies as she rested a hand on the handle of one of her daggers.

It was at this moment that everyone finally reacted.

“This is…?”

Their eyes widened in horror as they stared at the head that had fallen from above.

It belonged to a Seventh Shackle Realm expert.

A Seventh Shackle Realm expert had been beheaded just like that in less than a second.

It had happened faster than the blink of an eye.

The remaining Seventh Shackle Realm expert subconsciously took a step back, staring at Isabella with fear in his eyes.

If his comrade could be killed so easily, then she could perhaps do the same to him.

He hadn’t sensed anything at all. He had only detected her presence at the moment the skill was used but by then, it was already too late to react.

“I will not let a single one of you here leave alive.”

Isabella muttered before disappearing once again.

This time, fear crept into the hearts of the Gluttony Army members. They looked left and right, but no matter how much they tried to scan their surroundings, they couldn’t detect Isabella at all.

“…!!?”

The remaining Seventh Shackle Realm expert was no different. He was so frightened that he wanted to run, but he knew the mission was important. If he escaped now, he would suffer endless torture.

“Argh!!”

He gritted his teeth and roared. His energy erupted like a volcano as two spheres of highly concentrated energy formed in the palms of his hands.

“I will—”

His words were cut short as a dagger pierced through his back and emerged from his chest.

Ugh…!

He looked down at the sharp blade protruding from his chest and felt the taste of blood in his mouth.

[Silent Hunt: Heart Piercing Moment]!

Isabella appeared behind him as she slowly pulled the dagger from his body.

The Seventh Shackle Realm expert turned his head and looked at Isabella standing behind him.

It was at this moment that he finally sensed the energy fluctuations emanating from her.

“E-Eight Shackle Realm…?!”

He muttered in despair.

Isabella coldly met his gaze.

The dagger in her hand blurred, and in the next instant, the head of the Seventh Shackle Realm expert rolled through the air.

Whoosh!!

Isabella disappeared once again.

What followed were screams of agony.

Every time she appeared, a head would roll and blood would splash across the ground.

There was a reason the Heavenly Potion Pavilion could stand in Yunze City without being destroyed despite having weaker members.

It was because Isabella, the Pavilion Master, was strong enough to deter anyone in the city who had designs on the Heavenly Potion Pavilion.

Erkigal and Isabella were both feared throughout the city.

After a few seconds, Isabella had eliminated every member of the Gluttony Army.

She turned around and swiftly entered the barrier once again.

The guards and staff members were still stunned by what they had just witnessed when Isabella walked past them.

“We’re leaving this city. Hurry up and pack your things.”
