The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1305: Great Shen Empire: Black Blader

He Zheng’s eyes widened as he saw a huge sword materialize in Black Blader’s hand.

“Spread out!!”

He shouted as the enormous sword descended toward him. A sword appeared from his sleeve, and he quickly grasped it before raising it to meet the incoming slash.

Clang!!

A metallic sound echoed as the two swords collided.

Black Blader wasn’t surprised. In fact, he had expected He Zheng to block his slash.

After all, He Zheng was the Captain of the First Sky Guard Squad and one of the strongest experts in all of Yunze City.

Black Blader raised his foot and kicked, but He Zheng spun around, avoiding the attack. Using the momentum of his spin, He Zheng flawlessly executed one of his combat arts.

[Thousand Spin Slash]!!

The wind blew violently, forming a small tornado filled with thousands of sword slashes. It swirled around He Zheng like a storm as his sword blurred with each movement.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Black Blader was pushed back as he swiftly blocked every slash.

“An expert in swordsmanship, a wind element user possibly at the Third Stage, and a high-grade combat art. Nothing surprising.”

Black Blader stepped through the air. Seven silvery rings appeared behind him as his aura changed. He tightened his grip, furrowed his brows, and swung his sword.

An enormous blade of energy burst forth.

He Zheng sensed the danger and quickly raised his sword in front of him.

When the slash descended, the tornado of slashes was shattered without any resistance. The force of the attack expanded outward, causing the surrounding buildings to disintegrate.

Boom!!

As for He Zheng, his body was thrown a hundred meters away before he managed to stabilize himself.

He Zheng took a deep breath and glanced at his trembling hand.

The force behind that slash was terrifyingly powerful.

‘He suddenly grew stronger. What sort of technique is he using? I can’t repeatedly block his attacks, or else the bones in my hands will break.’

He thought inwardly as he circulated his mana throughout his body, silently activating several of his combat arts.

“Don’t get distracted.” Black Blader’s voice sounded.

He Zheng looked ahead and saw bolts of lightning closing in. His instincts kicked in, and he quickly shifted his body to the side.

Szzzzz!!!

The lightning bolts passed behind him.

They had come so close that if he had moved even an inch slower, he would’ve been struck.

The bolts of lightning continued advancing, eventually striking multiple buildings in the distance. Those buildings were pulverized the moment the lightning hit them. There were even civilians caught in the attack, dying instantly without feeling any pain.

Then,

BOOOM!!!

The lightning detonated.

Dozens of buildings and houses were blasted apart, along with the people inside them.

A mushroom cloud of smoke rose from the ground as waves of terrifying energy swept across the area.

…

Two kilometers away from the battle, Isabella stood on top of a rooftop, watching the confrontation between the First Sky Guard Squad and the remnants of the Gluttony Army.

Her presence seemed to blend into her surroundings, and no one noticed her. People were running away in panic while she silently observed the battle.

“Gluttony Army… Why are they here?” Isabella pondered deeply.

When they escaped from the great battle months ago, Isabella and the others weren’t pursued by the Gluttony Army. It was the Alliance forces that chased them.

In fact, they hadn’t encountered anyone from the Gluttony Army in the past few months.

“So why…?”

She suddenly remembered something.

No, could it be related to what Sister Erkigal said before she passed out?

Isabella focused her attention on the battle.

There were three people from the Gluttony Army. Although they were strong, their numbers were too few compared to the First Sky Guard Squad. Moreover, as the Captain, He Zheng’s strength was not to be underestimated.

“The other experts of Yunze City will arrive soon… I don’t think those three are the only ones here. Perhaps some of them are hiding.”

A terrifying glint flashed in Isabella’s eyes.

…

Several kilometers away from Yunze City, a group of individuals watched the battle through a projection created by an artifact.

A voluptuous woman wearing revealing clothes with a black robe draped over them chuckled as she watched the battle.

“It seems Black Blader will finish that guy soon.” Her voice was seductive.

“Poisonous Vine, don’t underestimate the experts of this place.” A raspy voice came from a hooded old man armed with a pair of red-colored gauntlets.

The woman known as Poisonous Vine glared at the old man and retorted, “Old Teng, you’re new to us, so you don’t understand Black Blader’s strength. He’s fought numerous geniuses and survived. He even killed many of them.”

“Teng Guan, Poisonous Vine, stop fighting.” A powerful voice reverberated through the area, immediately silencing the two who were arguing.

The voice belonged to a handsome man with black hair and a pair of green eyes. His skin was pale and smooth, and his body was clad in leather armor. A pair of short blue swords hung from both sides of his waist.

He was Ice Death.

The one tasked with leading this operation.

“We have to find that woman.” A raspy voice sounded.

Ice Death, Poisonous Vine, and Teng Guan turned their heads.

The voice came from a tall and thin man wearing a loose black robe. His eyes were dark, his skin was pale, and his fingernails were the color of blood. A long silver spear hung from his back.

“Green King…” Ice Death muttered.

Although he was the leader of this operation, the man known as Green King was a powerful figure among the remnants of the Gluttony Army. Back when their Lord was still alive, Green King had been a high-ranking officer who commanded tens of thousands of other officers on the battlefield.

“Hmph, we’ll find that woman here. Isn’t that the reason we set up the detection formation using a Dark-grade artifact?” Poisonous Vine said, disdain evident in her eyes.

“Stop.” Ice Death spoke before turning to Teng Guan and asking, “What’s the status of your men?”

Teng Guan didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he took out a crystal ball.

The crystal ball emitted a faint light, and images began to appear inside it.

“Hmm…?”

Ice Death, Poisonous Vine, and Green King gazed at the images within the crystal ball.

…

The northern district of Yunze City was trembling. Debris and corpses were scattered everywhere, while explosions continued to erupt from time to time.

One of the largest cities in the western region of the Great Shen Empire had been invaded by the remnants of the Gluttony Army.

Several organizations had been alarmed by the battle.

The First Sky Guard Squad fought fiercely, staking their lives to protect the citizens.

Isabella, standing some distance away, didn’t participate in the battle. Her intuition told her that there was more to this than a simple invasion.

As an Eight Shackle Realm expert, she trusted her intuition.

“Soon, this entire city will be affected by the battle…”

It was inevitable since Hero-rank experts were participating in the battle. The clashes between Hero-rank experts were devastating, and the shockwaves would eventually sweep across the entire city.

The streets and all the structures within the area would collapse. Perhaps only the areas protected by the various organizations throughout the city would remain unaffected. Still, it was hard to say since Hero-rank experts were involved.

Isabella quickly turned around and left the area.

She hadn’t expected the remnants of the Gluttony Army to attack the city.

As she drew closer to the Heavenly Potion Pavilion, Isabella suddenly felt something.

She paused in her tracks and stood atop a rooftop, her presence blending seamlessly into her surroundings.

Hmm…?

Isabella narrowed her eyes as she saw shadows moving through the streets at high speed.

“The Gluttony Army?”

She recognized them by the unique symbol of Gluttony emblazoned on their clothes.

What were they doing here?

There were still citizens in the area, yet no one noticed the figures traversing the streets and searching every corner.

Isabella silently leaped into the air and flew toward the Heavenly Potion Pavilion.

It was then that she sensed several members of the Gluttony Army heading toward the Heavenly Potion Pavilion.

Isabella increased her speed and arrived before them. She canceled her stealth as she walked toward the main building.

“Pavilion Master?!”

“Pavilion Master!!”

The people of the Heavenly Potion Pavilion were surprised when Isabella suddenly appeared at the gate. They quickly stopped what they were doing and greeted her.

They were nervous, as everyone could feel the intense vibrations shaking the ground.

A battle must have been happening outside.

They were waiting for orders from the Pavilion Master.

“Activate the Protective Formation! Don’t let anyone enter the Heavenly Potion Pavilion without my permission!”

Isabella’s voice echoed through the area as she disappeared toward the main building.

“Yes, Pavilion Master!!”

The guards and other members of the pavilion answered in unison.
