The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1136: The Demon: Alice vs Desmon and Alyana

Alyana glanced coldly at the two women struggling in her grasp.

”There’s only one outcome when you stand against us—death. You had your chance. But you didn’t cherish it... so now, suffer the consequences of your choices.”

Amanda and Lydia shuddered as a wave of killing intent washed over them, sharp and suffocating like needles against their skin.

’Is this where I die?’ Lydia thought, locking eyes with Alyana.

There was no mercy in that gaze. No hesitation.

Alyana would kill them—of that, Lydia had no doubt. And the cruel part was that she knew there was nothing they could do.

An expert at the Sixth Shackle Realm.

The gap between them was far too great.

Their lives truly rested in the hands of a monster.

...

On the other side—

Alice’s eyes widened as she suddenly turned her head.

”Worried about your comrades?” Desmon sneered, wiping a smear of blood from the corner of his mouth. ”You should be worrying about yourself first.”

He bent his knees and surged forward.

Whoosh!!

Alice said nothing. She swiftly moved to the side and raised her spear, blocking Desmon’s attack. Her weapon gleamed with golden light as a torrent of energy erupted from it once more.

[First Stance: Thousand Victory]!!

Hundreds of massive golden spears materialized beside her, each one radiating overwhelming energy.

”This...?!” Desmon’s eyes narrowed. But then he scoffed. ”Impressive strength... but this alone won’t earn you a complete victory against us.”

The golden spears rained down from the sky like divine punishment, each one homing in on Desmon. He sharpened his focus and moved with lightning speed, narrowly dodging each deadly strike.

Amid the chaos, Alice hesitated, her eyes flicking downward.

She saw Alyana.

Alyana had both Lydia and Amanda in her grasp, lifting them effortlessly by their throats.

Alice’s heart sank. She was being torn between duty, fury, and helplessness.

She couldn’t let both of them die. If that happened, Souta would be devastated. No—worse. He might lose control of his emotions again.

Scenes from that day flashed through her mind.

Boom!!

Pain tore through her body as she was suddenly blasted away.

So lost in her thoughts, she hadn’t even noticed Desmon closing in.

Her body slammed into the ground, a crater forming beneath her.

Cough!

Alice spat out a mouthful of blood, forcing herself to look up.

Desmon hovered above, a mocking grin on his face.

”So worried about your comrades that you forgot you’re still in a fight with me...” he said coldly. ”I didn’t think you’d care that much. Impressive. You’re strong for someone who just broke through the Sixth Shackle. Strong enough to stand toe-to-toe with someone like me... someone already on the verge of breaking the Seventh.”

Alice gritted her teeth.

’I can defeat him... but it won’t be easy. And by the time I do—it’ll be too late. I need strength now... to save Amanda and Lydia.’

She couldn’t let the past repeat itself.

Maybe... just maybe, if I had used my strength back then, things would have turned out differently...

That thought had haunted her for so long.

And now—

”I don’t need to hold back anymore!”

Ohm!!

Darkness exploded outward, flooding the battlefield. A powerful aura surged into the sky, forming an enormous pillar of bluish energy that pierced the heavens.

Desmon staggered, pushed back by the sudden burst.

”What is this?!” he growled, frowning.

His instincts screamed. Every hair on his body stood on end. It felt like thousands of ants were crawling across his skin.

It was suffocating.

It was unpleasant.

A dreadful aura spread through the air.

Desmon barely saw the flash before he was hurled several meters away.

Swoosh!!

In the distance, Alyana turned her head, her eyes narrowing as she saw a massive patch of darkness devouring the sky.

Then—

Her eyes widened.

A blur shot toward her like a comet.

Bang!!

The figure slammed into her, dragging her violently toward the ground. Her grip on Amanda and Lydia broke instantly as they tumbled from her hands.

”You...!”

Alyana looked up in shock—and what she saw sent a chill down her spine.

A demon in flesh.

A beautiful woman with black wings, curved horns sprouting from her head, and eyes glowing with terrifying resolve had her hand clamped around Alyana’s face.

It was Alice.

Without a word, Alice smashed her into the ground.

Then, in a single motion, she raised her spear and swung it down with devastating force.

Alyana reacted just in time, crossing her twin daggers to block the strike.

Bang!!

The impact cracked the earth beneath them.

In the blink of an eye, the two clashed again, exchanging a flurry of high-speed blows that echoed like thunder across the battlefield.

[Freezing Darkness]!!

[Heavenly Demon’s Aura]!!

Darkness and ice erupted outward, distorting the very climate of the planet.

Amanda and Lydia struggled to their feet, their eyes fixed on Alice—now locked in a fierce, all-out battle.

The ground beneath them began to freeze, turning to solid ice before being swallowed by the encroaching darkness. The temperature plummeted. A violent, frigid wind howled across the land. High above, hundreds of golden spears flickered in the sky, flashing each second with immense, overwhelming power.

”We have to move... Now!” Amanda shouted.

Lydia nodded without hesitation.

Both women flew into the sky, putting as much distance as they could between themselves and the clash. But the farther they went, the more they realized the truth:

The only way to avoid being caught in the aftermath...

was to either reach the far side of the planet

or leave the planet entirely.

The scale of Alice’s power had reached a level that the planet itself could barely withstand.

”Alice used that form... I think something bad is going to happen,” Amanda muttered.

She remembered the first time she met Alice on her home planet, back then.

It was that same demonic form Alice had used to save them.

And now, it had returned to rescue them once again—this time from Alyana’s grasp.

Boom!! Boom!!

Alice unleashed her Archetype freely, her true form radiating devastating power. Golden spears rained from the sky, plunging deep into the planet’s crust.

Desmon and Alyana were both blasted dozens of kilometers away by the force.

”This... This is a demon. I’ve read about them before,” Desmon said, staring at Alice’s form with a look of unease.

”Demon?” Alyana turned to him in disbelief.

”Yeah,” Desmon nodded gravely. ”They’re powerful... terrifyingly powerful beings.”

He clenched his fists.

To think the one he had been fighting all along... was a demon in disguise.

This was his first time facing one—and it was nothing like he imagined.

Alice’s golden eyes narrowed as she hovered in the sky, wings spread wide, her aura blazing like a storm.

”The two of you are strong. Together, you could probably defeat an Elder of Walpurgis Night.”

Her voice was calm, but it cut like steel.

”But now, with the power of my Archetype and my true form... I’m stronger than that.”

She wasn’t just confident.

She knew.

She had seen the strength of those Elders firsthand and her current self surpassed them.

It was a compliment.

The Elders of Walpurgis Night were formidable beings, each one powerful enough that it would normally take several Sixth Shackle Realm experts to bring them down. Yet these two, Desmon and Alyana, outsiders from beyond Imperium, could probably challenge an Elder together.

”I just broke through,” Alice said coldly, ”but my strength is already far beyond yours.”

Whoosh!!

She charged toward them.

The three clashed in the air, wrestling for dominance. Shockwave after shockwave rippled outward, tearing through the sky and land. The earth groaned beneath their power. Entire regions of the continent began to collapse under the force of their battle.

Their figures blurred, flashing at blinding speed—leaving behind trails of light and distorted air, creating intricate lines in the sky.

Desmon focused on keeping Alice occupied, forcing her to expend energy, while Alyana broke off and targeted the scattered survivors.

He had noticed it, Alice’s weakness.

She cared.

About her allies.

About their survival.

If they exploited that, they could end this battle quickly.

However, Alice didn’t allow either of them to make a move. She fought fiercely, taking on both Desmon and Alyana at once with unrelenting force.

Dozens of colossal golden spears rained down from the sky, each one brimming with power, pressing both Silver Falcon experts on the defensive.

Boom!!

Alice darted through the sky like a bolt of lightning, her spear cracking with energy as she struck both of them in quick succession.

[Secret Technique: Demon’s Dark Turn]!!

A whirlpool of darkness engulfed her golden spear, the swirling energy surging with terrifying force. With one mighty swing, Alice unleashed a tsunami of darkness streaked with radiant gold—crashing down upon the battlefield and carving a massive crater into the land below.

She wasn’t holding anything back.

She unleashed the full extent of her high-level demonic techniques.

Boom!!

Desmon smashed into the ground, his body mangled and scorched, blood seeping from numerous wounds.

”Call for reinforcements...! We can’t handle this demon alone!” Desmon shouted as he staggered to his feet.

He looked up, just in time to see Alice slice through Alyana’s right hand with a single, clean strike.

Then, with a powerful stomp, she kicked Alyana away.

Bang!!

Desmon took a deep breath and reached inside his clothes, pressing a small hidden device—a communicator.

But before he could speak a single word, dozens of massive golden spears rained down toward him.

”Damn it!” Desmon growled through gritted teeth, leaping backward.

He realized it then.

The demon before him, Alice, was stronger than both him and Alyana combined.

At this rate, they would be defeated soon.

...

On the other side, Alayan slowly stood up, wincing at the pain from her severed arm.

”A demon...” she muttered, eyes narrowing.

Above, Alice floated in the sky like a god of destruction, radiating immense energy. The golden spears she unleashed tore through the heavens, shaking the very planet with each impact. Her strength, speed, and defense were all off the charts.

Alyana clenched her teeth. She now understood—they couldn’t win this battle alone. Not with just the Silver Falcon Group.

They needed reinforcements. The other group had to arrive. Without their combined strength, defeating this terrifying demon was impossible.

”Reinforcements...” she said under her breath, almost as a plea.

Around her, the remaining members of the Silver Falcon Group were in disarray, struggling amidst the chaos.

Compared to Alyana and Desmon, they were far weaker. None of them could stand up to Alice. And any chance they had to capture Amanda or Lydia had completely slipped away.

They were powerless in the face of such overwhelming strength.

There was nothing they could do anymore.

Alyana took a deep breath and shook her head.

She wondered if she and Desmon could hold out long enough—just until reinforcements arrived.

Whoosh!!

With renewed determination, Alyana shot forward to aid Desmon, pushing aside all hesitation. She had to try. She had to give it everything.

But then—something changed.

Ohm!!

A terrifying burst of best feram descended from above, shaking the skies. A monstrous roar followed, echoing across the land like a divine judgment.

Alyana froze mid-air, staring up at the heavens. Her eyes widened in shock as an overwhelming pressure bore down on her.

”W-What is this?!”

It wasn’t just her. Desmon, Alice, and everyone still alive on the battlefield felt it. Even the remaining empire ships in orbit staggered, caught off guard by the sudden surge of power.

Desmon’s expression twisted in horror.

”There’s no way...”
