I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 436: Chapter 69: Boom!

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

After a brief silence, complete madness ensued. The fans who were somewhat emo were once again excited, and they turned their eyes towards the young player wearing the number 10 jersey.

Even those who had reservations because of his age had to admit at this moment that if Real Madrid had a backbone, it wouldn’t be Alonso, Kaka, or C. Ronaldo.

It could only be this 18-year-old young player from China!

When you step onto the field, the stands are filled with voices calling your name, and all eyes are on you: fans, teammates, and coaches.

”Is this Chen?”

”The biggest difference between him and Messi.”

”Maybe it’s that the current Chen has the leadership and charisma that Messi does not possess.”

Last season, people were still debating whether Messi or C. Ronaldo was the best player in the world. But by this season, the ”candidates” seemed to have one more name.

Messi and C. Ronaldo might have aspects that surpass Chen Zhong, but despite Chen Zhong’s youth, he possesses a stronger leadership than those two.

Now, Messi is more of the ”darling” of the big family, everyone knows each other well and has played together since childhood; the coach also ”loves” him, thriving within a familiar system.

Now, C. Ronaldo represents the pause and ”dominance.” During his time at Manchester United, he was the epitome of individual heroism, and Ferguson gave him absolute indulgence, which made C. Ronaldo accustomed to solving problems himself.

And Chen Zhong!

Using the words of Chinese fans, he is a legitimate king.

A group of competent companions surrounds him. Compared to Messi, who is the ”younger brother” being pampered, and C. Ronaldo, who views teammates as ”accessories” and is ”selfish,” Chen Zhong plays the role of a leader, even with some elements of an idol. Many young players from the youth academy see him as an idol.

When Chen Zhong takes the field, the opponents feel uneasy, knowing a tough adversary has appeared.

And for his teammates, it feels like there is now a backbone; they rally around Chen Zhong, treating him as the absolute core, launching attack after attack against the opponents.

Parejo looked a bit frustrated; this was a chance he had worked hard for, but he was substituted around the thirty-minute mark. He high-fived and hugged Chen Zhong, initially thinking that Chen Zhong might offer some words of comfort or encouragement, but Chen Zhong simply patted his shoulder firmly and ran onto the field.

The fans’ cheers came in waves, and after Chen Zhong got on the field, Real Madrid quickly found their rhythm.

”Real Madrid’s ball control.”

”It’s given to Chen Zhong.”

”Chen Zhong organizes Real Madrid’s midfield neatly.”

”They have taken control of the match’s rhythm.”

The usually indecisive Pellegrini finally stopped hesitating this time; perhaps he too understood in his heart who could change the course of the game in such circumstances.

Strong body, superior ball protection, and excellent long and short passing, as well as team capability.

Real Madrid’s counterattack in dire straits began amidst the fans’ loud chants.

Chen Zhong gave Sevilla significant pressure in the midfield, forcing them to pull in their wide players and fortify the middle, making many renowned managers watching the game furrow their brows.

”After the goal, Sevilla began to neglect their wing attacks.”

”They scored their first goal thanks to the flanks.”

”We can see that Sevilla’s players appear to be very severe now.”

”Real Madrid realized their mistake in time.”

”Pellegrini corrected the error.”

”Though it hasn’t yielded results yet.”

”We can clearly feel that the match’s tempo is being controlled by Real Madrid.”

The fans hope for Real Madrid’s goal to come soon; previously, fans would leave early due to poor team performance, but this time, they seemed to be glued to their seats.

Their eyes were bright, filled with expectation.

They longed for Chen Zhong to stand out.

It’s the fortieth minute of the match, and during this period, Real Madrid had some opportunities but hadn’t yet breached Sevilla’s goal. From the coach to the players to the fans, Sevilla felt quite relaxed.

”Too tense, we are still too tense.”

”The coach did nothing wrong; now we just need to maintain the middle defense and hold on to the score until the end.”

”No one wants to see an ugly victory, but if the opponent is Real Madrid, then any way of winning isn’t too much.”

...

Fans initially defended Sevilla’s ”bus” style of play, but seeing Real Madrid, even after Chen Zhong’s entrance, dominate possession without scoring as expected left them feeling a bit at ease.

Some fans began to get ”boisterous.”

”When I first saw Chen come on, I was really nervous, so can someone tell me the current score?”

”How many goals has Real Madrid scored now (funny face)”

”I think my family and I really need your help, after all, the first half is about to end.”

...

And just as the Sevilla fans began to relax and even imagine holding onto the score in the second half and leaving Santiago Bernabeu Stadium with all three points...
