I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 431: Chapter 66: The All-Powerful Terminator (Chen’s Moment of Glory) (Part 2)

At this moment, Chen Zhong moved up from the back row, while C. Ronaldo, after a dribble, side-footed a lofty pass to the center.

At that moment, it was as if a ”slow-motion button” was pressed on the field.

Around them, Villarreal players sensed the danger and ran towards Chen Zhong. On the sidelines, Pellegrini’s eyes widened and his mouth slightly open, while Garrido was pulling at his hair, resistance written all over his face.

Tears welled up again in the eyes of Villarreal’s fans, and the dry throats of Real Madrid fans began to prepare the sounds of celebration.

”C. Ronaldo broke through the double team!”

”Villarreal’s reaction was very fast.”

”A dribble change-up.”

”Lofty pass to the center!”

”Chen Zhong!”

A broad path lay before Chen Zhong, and both Negredo and Higuain turned their attention to this man sprinting through the center.

He leapt high, heading towards the goal.

Chen Zhong, reaching his position without any hesitation, mustered strength in his legs and sprang off the ground.

The two Villarreal players arriving around him didn’t even have time to jump, only staring in shock at the ”soaring” Chen Zhong.

They tilted their heads, raising them to watch.

Watching Real Madrid’s number 10, with a powerful header, smash the ball towards the goal as if an axe chopping down grandly from above.

Villarreal’s goalkeeper Diego Lopez tried to do something.

But he only had time to lift his head, assuming a ”comedic” pose like surrendering.

Then for the third time, Chen Zhong breached the goal, the sixth conceded goal.

”GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL!”

”GOAL!!!”

”The ball is in!”

”He nearly took off!”

”Faced with a powerful, forceful headed shot at the goal.”

”The goalkeeper was helpless, could only watch the ball enter the net.”

”Beautiful!”

”So beautiful!”

”This is Chen Zhong’s third goal of the match.”

”And his second hat trick in the league!”

”He can once again collect all the team’s autographs!”

”Unbelievable, unbelievable!”

”Free kick, long shot, header scramble!”

”He showcased his all-around attributes in offense; he’s simply omnipotent!”

”An all-powerful terminator!”

”He continually dispels doubts, breaks records, makes records!”

”Years from now, people might forget a commentator like me, but they will never forget that Chen Zhong who won the Golden Boy Award for the first time, secured a position as the main force at Real Madrid, and donned the captain’s jersey.”

”He is destined to become an Asian, even a world-class legendary star, maybe even a generation’s king of soccer.”

Villarreal fans were silent, some emotional fans even shed tears again; they thought they wouldn’t win, but never expected to lose so badly.

And Garrido, who had just recently taken charge, went silent too, even starting to doubt if he was suitable for a head coach role.

Success doesn’t lie, yet the defeat before his eyes involuntarily made his previous victories appear illusory.

No, maybe...

I only lost to Chen Zhong.

This is a player that cannot be managed.

Strong, smart, driven!

All-powerful!

At this moment, Garrido seemed to understand Guardiola, Barcelona’s champion coach, why he often mentioned Chen Zhong.

Real Madrid’s fans once again let out ”hoarse” cheers, waving everything they could wave, looking at this child who, over three years, gradually became the team’s main force, core, and top scorer, their eyes full of adoration.

Perhaps not everyone likes ”the child”, but when this ”child” can win glory for you, make you proud, and let you feel ”superior” in front of others.

How can this still be a ”child”! It’s as if they can’t wait to exalt him to a pedestal and worship him.

Pellegrini’s eyes were also full of amazement, finally realizing his error, for wanting Chen Zhong to serve purely as a defender when he first arrived!

This is just a waste!

Shameful waste! He is not a common, typical player; he’s akin to ”Gullit”, no, he belongs to the kind of rare gem with a body, a mind, and a very strong spirit attribute.

Many people’s first impression of Chen Zhong, they felt he was just ”ordinary”.

At most, just a bit stronger in body, a bit more diligent, a bit tougher in spirit, a bit tougher in defense, a bit better at protecting the ball...

But when all these ”a bit” concentrate in one person, it’s not just ”a bit” anymore, it’s a terminator, like one of those movie terminators from the future!

The most terrifying thing is, Chen Zhong also has a super strong learning ability!

Look at what he has displayed! Pellegrini could even see the shadows of many players in him.

For example, Beckham, Pirlo, Inzaghi, C. Ronaldo, Kaka...

At this moment, Pellegrini vaguely remembered Chen Zhong’s nickname in the youth team ”Monster”, a nickname from three years ago, which no one had used in a long time, but now seemed so fitting.

After scoring, Chen Zhong threaded his way through the disappointed Villarreal players, running towards the die-hard fan stands, jumping onto the advertising board amidst the crowd’s cheers.

This action shocked Real Madrid’s security personnel and nearby fans, who quickly moved forward to ”steady” him, afraid he might accidentally fall.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who was initially smiling happily, paused his steps toward the celebration upon seeing Chen Zhong being surrounded by thousands, hailed by tens of thousands, catching everyone’s attention, standing on that advertising board like a king.

He slowed his footsteps, his smile gradually faded, merely standing still, becoming one of those left on the field.

No one knew what Cristiano Ronaldo was thinking at the time, until years later, in an interview, he finally revealed: ”That day, I vaguely realized, I could never replace, no, surpass Chen.”

”Happy? Of course, I was happy for him, at that time, yes, we were friends, had a good relationship, trained together at night, he was a hardworking player, so was I.”

”But, you know, I yearn to be the best, I still had it, maybe one day I could make Chen my most reliable partner.”

”By then, I would say, mate, half of my honors belong to you.”

”But, he kept getting better, I realized it was all irreversible.”

”Very bad.”

...

The score finally froze at 6:0

Not long after completing his hat trick, Chen Zhong was replaced by Pellegrini.

He let Chen Zhong enjoy the applause and cheers of the whole stadium once again, while Cristiano Ronaldo again stared deeply at Chen Zhong, he vowed, one day, the whole Bernabeu would cheer for him.

He already regarded Chen Zhong as a competitor and object of pursuit, even if they played different positions, even if he had once said to the media, we have no competition.

But the fact was already so.

After the match, Chen Zhong was undoubtedly selected as the best player on the field, and amidst the cheers of Real Madrid fans, he received a souvenir, smiling happily in front of the camera.

And surrounding teammates passing by, especially Marcelo, Negredo, Granero’s jokes made the camera feel Chen Zhong’s good relationship within the team.

In this match, Chen Zhong showcased his versatile attributes, whether in offense, defense, or organization.

Whether it was long shots, scrambles, long passes, or short passes, he demonstrated a very high standard.

Even Villarreal’s coach Garrido, when facing the camera, bluntly stated, ”The score does not represent the gap between the two teams.”

”In terms of tactics, we are not inferior to Real Madrid.”

”The only issue is, we do not have Chen, whereas Real Madrid has Chen, it’s that simple.”

In this match, both teams used the 442 formation, and Garrido’s remarks were, in some ways, correct. Pellegrini, when addressing interviews, did not shy away from this issue either.

The ”Engineer” from Chile, after initial anxiety at the start of the season, became more composed as the team maintained good momentum across various competitions.

He looked at the camera and stated bluntly, ”Yes, having Chen makes the game simpler.”

”Too bad, you don’t have Chen.”
