I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 409: Chapter 55: Rebellion 2.0 (Part 3)

In the face of these two, the King’s Cup is always something to give up on.

Moreover, from another perspective, with Barcelona already eliminated and Real Madrid advancing to the next round, it can be considered a win over Barcelona.

If Barcelona were still in the King’s Cup, and even made it all the way to the finals, meeting in the finals, or even the semifinals, would make continued effort worthwhile, because the opponent is Barcelona.

But now...

Absolutely none!

To Chen Zhong, Pellegrini’s actions were incomprehensible.

Athletic Club has won the La Liga championship 8 times, the Spanish King’s Cup 24 times, and the Spanish Super Cup 4 times, making it the fourth-best club in league history, just behind Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid.

Once upon a time, Athletic Bilbao only used players of Basque descent, standing out in La Liga and major European leagues.

They are a team with beliefs, and anyone who underestimates this lion will have no good outcome in their lair, not even Real Madrid.

Moreover, although in some fans’ ”faction” division, Athletic Club does not belong to the Real Madrid faction or the Barcelona faction, but rather the unique Basque region faction, their relationship with Barcelona is still good, at least closer compared to Real Madrid.

They are very willing to help Barcelona in the league to block Real Madrid.

After all, they still aim to win on their home turf.

Even against Real Madrid.

The encounters between the two teams have always been intense; in the two-legged match-up last season, there were 12 goals in total. Both matches were tied at 2:2 by halftime, showing how intense the competition was.

Moreover, in the early 21st century, the two teams had quite a few grievances, with both sides having big victories. While not ”arch-rivals,” they are certainly not friends either.

Rotating players against Athletic Club?

Chen Zhong decisively refused Pellegrini’s request and firmly stated, ”I will definitely be playing in this match.”

”I hope you can provide a reasonable roster.”

Pellegrini clearly did not expect Chen Zhong’s attitude to be so determined. He began to miss the Chen Zhong from the start of the season. However, during this time, he also understood that he and Chen Zhong are not the same kind of people.

Chen Zhong would go all out toward his goals, while he would make trade-offs.

This is probably young people for you!

Looking at Chen Zhong staring at him, feeling Francisco’s gaze, Pellegrini ”smiled” and agreed to Chen Zhong’s request. After Chen Zhong left, he suddenly thought of Barcelona’s Messi.

He wondered if Guardiola might have the same trouble.

If Messi leaves Barcelona in the future, will he have a conflict with the coach over being benched or rotated?

Pellegrini did not know...

The only thing he knew was that he seemed unable to steer the luxurious battleship of Real Madrid.

Perhaps, leaving would be a good choice.

He had already received an offer from the English team Manchester City, a team with ambition but also confusion, where he could build the foundation from scratch.

Just like Mourinho did at Chelsea, injecting soul into the team.
