Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Evan Shaw Is Going to Hit Chloe York

Stella Winters was munching on chocolate while watching the two of them from a distance. Hearing the other students’ comments, she was completely baffled. ’Chloe was the one who took Evan to the nurse’s office. How could he possibly repay her kindness with violence?!’

The moment Evan Shaw raised his hand, Chloe York instinctively flinched back. Evan spoke gently, ”You have a dry blade of grass in your hair.”

She stopped dodging, and Evan helped pluck it out. Sure enough, it was a tiny little blade.

”Thanks!”

”You’re welcome. If you have any questions you don’t understand in the future, you can ask me too.”

”Really?” ’In the book, Evan was the kind of character who got automatic admission to university! Even though I have the system and my mind is getting sharper, I’m still a bit slow when it comes to solving problems. If someone helps me, I’ll absorb the material faster, and I’ll be able to complete my tasks more quickly, too.’

Evan nodded. ”Really. We have each other’s contact info, so you can call and ask me questions even when we’re not at school.”

”Thank you, Evan!”

”You don’t have to thank me. I’m the one who should be thanking you for taking me to the nurse’s office.”

”Then let’s be friends starting today. And friends don’t say thank you to each other, right?” ’Making friends with a genius like him might come in handy someday.’

”Okay.”

”I’ll head back then.”

”Mhm!” Evan Shaw watched Chloe York walk away, a light glinting in his eyes. He never thought he would one day become friends with his nemesis’s fiancée.

”Wait, why do I get the feeling they’re smiling really happily? It doesn’t look like they’re about to fight.”

”I think so too. They’re both smiling. They look so friendly.”

Seeing Chloe York return, everyone scrambled back to their seats.

After coming inside, Chloe returned to her desk. Stella Winters glanced at her, sensing that she was in a good mood.

The others also noticed that the smile hadn’t left Chloe’s lips since she got back.

”Chloe, just now, they were guessing that Evan was about to attack you,” Stella Winters told Chloe what she had overheard.

”Why would Evan attack me?” Chloe was baffled.

Stella shook her head. ”I have no idea.”

It wasn’t a big deal anyway, so Chloe didn’t dwell on it. The next period was geography. In her past life, geography had been her worst subject. It was her weakness, so she had to pay close attention.

Geography class was dry and boring, but Chloe still listened attentively and took detailed notes. Stella didn’t disturb her, instead sneaking bites of snacks from time to time.

When the class ended, Chloe let out a long breath. ’As expected, there’s still so much I don’t understand.’

’The system’s tasks are random and aren’t given out constantly. I wonder if there are other systems out there. I feel like I could bind a few more.’

”Chloe, I’m heading to the cafeteria to eat.” Morning classes were over, and it was time for lunch. Stella Winters couldn’t wait. She shoved her books into her desk without even organizing them. She didn’t have any grand ambitions in life; she just loved to eat.

”I’ll go too.” She hadn’t even realized it was lunchtime until Stella mentioned it. She organized her books and put them in her desk.

”What? You’re going too?” Stella paused, just as she was about to leave.

Previously, Chloe York never ate in the cafeteria. A driver would always take her back to the York Family estate for lunch. But ever since she was revealed to be the fake heiress, the York Family had made her eat at school.

The original owner of the body found it humiliating and always refused to eat in the school cafeteria, choosing to eat out instead.

In contrast, Brooke York had chosen to eat in the school cafeteria ever since she was officially recognized and brought back to the family.

”Yup!” ’The original Chloe, trying to save face, always used her leftover allowance to eat out. That money ran out right around the time I transmigrated.’

’Now I have to complete tasks to earn money, so I need to be frugal no matter what.’

”That’s great! I have company! Let’s go, let’s go eat together. I can tell you which dishes are the best so you don’t pick a bad one.” Stella happily linked arms with Chloe and headed toward the cafeteria.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, some students were already eating. There were still those who were studying hard for the college entrance exams; you could vaguely see one or two people reading a book while they ate.

Chloe York’s appearance in the cafeteria caught the attention of quite a few people. Even though Chloe was a senior, she had been so worried about other girls stealing the handsome Ethan Prescott that when the freshmen started, she went to every single one of their classes to warn them not to covet him.

This resulted in pretty much everyone knowing who Chloe York was, whether they were freshmen, sophomores, or in her own grade.

Following Stella’s recommendations, Chloe ordered sweet and sour pork and hand-torn cabbage.

After finding a table, the two of them focused on their meal. And wow, you really couldn’t go wrong with a foodie’s recommendation. Both dishes were delicious.

”Excuse me, may I sit here?” Hearing the voice, she looked up to see Evan Shaw standing before her, holding a tray.

”Of course.”

Stella nudged Chloe with her elbow, a mischievous grin on her face.

Seeing Evan and Chloe eating at the same table, the people around them started whispering among themselves.

Just then, the figures of Ethan Prescott and Brooke York appeared at the cafeteria entrance.

”Ethan, how about we have a study session together this weekend?”

”Fine.”

”Then come to my place! My house is closer to the library, so it’ll be more convenient if we need to go. What do you think?”

Lifting her eyes, she realized Ethan wasn’t listening to her at all. He was staring at a specific spot. Following his gaze, she saw Chloe York sitting with Evan Shaw.

Brooke York’s expression soured, no longer able to control it. ’What is going on? Why are they all interested in Chloe York, one after another?’

”Honestly, Chloe... no matter what, she’s still engaged to you. How can she be so close to Evan, the person you hate the most!”

Ethan Prescott shook off Brooke and strode directly toward Chloe. Shoved aside, Brooke quickly followed him.

Just as she was eating, her wrist was seized. The next thing she knew, she was being yanked to her feet. Ethan’s voice rang out by her ear, ”Chloe York, come with me.”

”Are you insane?!” Her wrist was gripped so tightly she was pulled up from her seat, and the piece of sweet and sour pork she had just picked up fell onto the table.

Evan quickly stepped forward and grabbed Chloe’s other hand, snapping at Ethan, ”Didn’t you hear her? Chloe doesn’t want to go with you.”

”This is between me and my fiancée. It’s none of your business,” Ethan retorted.

As soon as he said this, all the students watching the drama unfold were stunned. Ethan Prescott just admitted Chloe York was his fiancée! He had always denied it before and wouldn’t even let anyone mention it. And now he was admitting it himself?

In a fit of anger, Chloe shook both of them off. She was speechless. ”That’s enough, both of you!”

”Where do you think you are? This is a high school! Who are you? You’re students! What should students be doing in a high school? Answer me!” The last two words were delivered with force.

Evan met Chloe’s gaze and subconsciously uttered one word: ”Studying.”
