Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1315: Chapter 1316: Little Brother Behavior

The idea of vying for a Grammy has temporarily been decided.

However, it’s not just a matter of saying it and going. It requires certain processes and time, so there’s no need to focus on it for now.

At the very least, if you want to use a song to compete for a Grammy, you have to release the song, right?

So, the current focus is still on the ”Singer’s Life” program.

Of course, it won’t be long!

Because Lu Xiaobu decided to air ”Singer’s Life” with one episode a day and two episodes on weekends.

Honestly, from a business perspective, this decision is extremely unwise.

”Singer’s Life” takes a calm approach and is meant to relieve people’s stress.

Yet, such frequent airing will obviously cause the audience to experience aesthetic fatigue. The stress hasn’t even accumulated yet, who needs to relieve it?!

For this reason, Nie Ping often asked Lu Xiaobu to change the conditions.

But Lu Xiaobu ignored him completely.

If it weren’t for the slow post-production, he would have released it all in one day.

What’s the point of dragging it out every day?!

If you like to watch, watch. If you don’t, forget it!

Really, he wasn’t planning to gain anything from this program anyway.

As expected.

After the initial three-day boom, ”Singer’s Life” started to show a lot of audience fatigue, and the ratings began to decline rapidly.

The speed of the decline was shocking to industry insiders!

”Oh my God! What kind of ridiculous operation is this?!”

”This reality show could clearly have been a big hit, soaring to success, yet it was forced into this situation?!”

”So headstrong! So headstrong!”

”Poor Nie Ping! I don’t even know whether his choice to follow Lu Xiaobu is a good thing or a bad thing now!”

”Yeah, I won’t say much, one episode a week, I guarantee that in half a year, this show’s ratings would definitely be number one!”

”Lu Xiaobu has really squandered this time! Really headstrong! Oh!”

”...”

These insiders watched the ratings drop with a bit of heartache.

However, when one door closes, another opens. Although the reality show’s ratings declined, it rapidly boosted the attention on something else!

That was the songs these singers performed during the program, especially the original songs, which became hits overnight, sweeping all the major charts!

As long as a new episode of ”Singer’s Life” aired today, you could be sure that before midnight, all the songs featured in this episode would dominate the charts, without exception!

So, the people in the reality show circle didn’t go crazy; they even felt a bit regretful.

But the music industry went wild!

”Damn! It’s happening again?!”

”My new album! I was counting on this album to sell well!”

”Speechless! I never thought the music industry would actually be defeated by a reality show?!”

”What the heck is this?! I’m the original singer, I’m the original! Why are they all listening to the covers? At least give me some credit! No way! I need to get my copyright back!”

”Alright! Go for it! I support you! Go! Sue Lu Xiaobu, tell him not to use your copyright! I believe in you! Really, the moment you leave your agency’s door, they’ll clamp down on you, believe it or not?!”

”Exactly! Benefiting while complaining?! Didn’t Lu Xiaobu pay you when he used your song’s copyright? Insatiable as the snake! We’re still waiting for someone to cover our songs!”

”Let’s not talk about that! But isn’t it weird? Have you noticed? Whenever they cover a song, it does have a slight difference!”

”Yes, yes! I heard it too, very strange! How did they achieve it? Equipment? Environment? Sound engineer?! None of those seem right!”

”Really! I think we need to study this carefully; it might be a whole new technique!”

”Ah! I’m convinced! I said from the beginning I wanted to participate, but my agent refused, saying six months was too long! But look at the outcome now! Facts prove that Lu Xiaobu is amazing!”

”Right on! In our group, over these six months, maybe we made a little money; quite a few probably lost money! But those singers? They followed Lu Xiaobu for half a year, and result, hey, their value skyrocketed! You just can’t help but admire!”

”Stop whining! I’m going home to set up a shrine for Lu Xiaobu, offering incense three times a day, praying!”

”Makes sense! Where did you get... I mean, invite this shrine?! Give me a link, I want one too!”

”...”

The singers, in a teasing tone, expressed their infinite envy and jealousy.

Truly enviable!

They not only envy the doubled worth of these singers but also their lifestyle for the past half year, they’ve seen the show, how comfortable that life is!

No need to worry about commercial performances, no need to consider invitations from big shots, no need to study audience preferences, and no need to participate in some ridiculously stupid variety shows to maintain fame.

Just playing, having fun, eating, and singing!

What a wonderful life!

Moreover, they can connect with Lu Xiaobu, which is such a great advantage!

However, no choice, their fates are not theirs to choose! The management company weighs the pros and cons, not letting them go!

This is the truth of the world! They might seem spectacular, but their fate is not theirs to decide!

What? You ask how those six singers manage it?!

Ha-ha! Let me tell you!

Sun Wanqi, the Queen of Heaven, though her fame has declined, she remains unmatched domestically, no one dares to manage her!

Chen Wen and Fang Li, these two established their own studio years ago, essentially became their own bosses, merely affiliated with an agency for convenience, but they still have great freedom!

Ye Haohan, he’s their agency boss’s brother-in-law.

Zhou Lei, not to mention, the younger brother of a big shot, he’s in the entertainment circle just for fun, even his agency has to look to him!

Deng Shiyi, she doesn’t have high-level connections!

But her brother is one of the Lu Group’s hundred thousand Iron Cavalry!

Got it? Understood? Clear now?

The show seems to be open to all singers, without restrictions, but is it really the case?

No explicit rules, but a bunch of implicit ones!

As for that director, Nie Ping, apart from his ability, his title amidst fierce competition was earned by running everywhere and pleading everywhere.

Rumor has it, he even went to Shimen to see Zhang Benhu, speculating they must have agreed to some terms.

That’s how he became the director of this ”Singer’s Life”!

Of course, now looking back, everything had its returns, they gambled and won!

As for them, they better lie low for a while!

While all the singers were preparing to lie low for a while, waiting for the ”Singer’s Life” hype to pass, an inexperienced newcomer boldly decided to directly challenge Lu Xiaobu!

The singers all sighed softly — a rookie move!
