Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 966: Chapter 964: Announcement

The Lu Group has announced the establishment of a foundation!

”Lu Group establishes a Teacher Foundation, investing forty billion annually to improve Shimen’s education sector”

”Lu Xiaobu’s crazy move: charity or squandering?”

”How long can it really last?”

”A spendthrift’s crazy move”

These news stories caused an uproar in society!

”What?! A teacher getting a three thousand monthly subsidy?! No way! Really?!”

”Lu Xiaobu must be crazy! Three billion a month, forty billion a year?!”

”Is he sick?! Lu Xiaobu’s spendthrift nature is coming out again! Just got some money, now he’s showing off!”

”Why do you care?! Isn’t it good? Someone’s willing to give money, why complain?!”

”Exactly! He has money to burn! What does it matter to you?!”

”Lu Xiaobu is really squandering the family’s wealth! If I were his family, I’d be livid!”

”Exactly! Everyone else is figuring out how to make money, and he’s just wasting it!”

”But, I feel like Lu Xiaobu must be joking!”

”Why bother if he’s joking or not? Just treat it as a joke!”

”True! Just enjoy the show!”

”If Lu Xiaobu really apologizes later, it’ll be a good twist!”

”...”

The public, amused and not thinking much, just enjoyed the spectacle.

If it’s fake, treat it as a joke!

If it’s real, they think Lu Xiaobu hasn’t squandered money in a long time and his hands are itching!

After all, the spendthrift Lu Xiaobu often does earth-shattering things.

Now spending forty billion a year doesn’t seem like much!

But it’s different for the teaching community!

”Wow! Really?! Three thousand a month!? Oh my god!”

”Only Shimen?! Can’t it be nationwide?!”

”Right! Shimen’s teachers are so lucky!”

”Is it still possible to transfer to Shimen now?”

”So awesome! An extra three thousand a month, more than title bonuses!”

”Lu Xiaobu really is foolish and rich! To do such a thing!”

”Someone’s sending money, why not take it? I’m already starting my transfer! Hahaha! Forty billion, here I come!”

”Wait a bit! You don’t know if it’s true yet! What if reporters are just sensationalizing?!”

”True! Reporters do that often! Maybe Lu Xiaobu mentioned only his school and they expanded it to all of Shimen!”

”Yes, exactly, let’s wait!”

”...”

Some teachers were happy, some envious, and some opportunists started frantically searching for connections to transfer to Shimen!

However, without confirmed news, they all remained skeptical!

Lu Xiaobu’s actions didn’t only shake the teaching community but also the business world.

”Quick, find out why Lu Xiaobu wants to do this!”

”Did he hear about any new government policies?!”

”Send people out, investigate, research! Even those in psychiatric wards, bring in those researchers! Theology, whatever works, as long as there’s a result!”

”Increase manpower, find out what significance Lu Xiaobu’s actions have!”

”Communicate with other companies, especially in the education sector, get detailed information!”

”...”

Lu Xiaobu’s little move immediately caused chaos in the business world!

They must be chaotic, all of Lu Xiaobu’s past actions have been too bizarre; what if this is a strategic move?!

If it’s truly Lu Xiaobu’s plan, they must quickly follow suit or risk being left behind by the times!

However, after researching, they found nothing!

”That’s odd! This behavior has no meaning at all! Just purely giving away money!”

”Yeah! These teachers aren’t employed by Lu Group and won’t bring even a cent of benefit to it. There’s no point in doing this!”

”Can’t figure it out! Can’t figure it out! What do those in psychiatric wards say?!

”They said, God didn’t give them an answer!”

”Could it be that this is simply Lu Xiaobu’s act of squandering?”

”Very likely! This whole affair truly has no meaning! At most, it leaves a good impression on teachers, and only Shimen’s teachers! But what’s the use of that?!”

”A good impression?! No way, don’t forget the saying ’A favor given is half the battle lost’! They’re grateful to Lu Xiaobu now, but who knows in a couple of months!”

”Exactly, and moreover, Shimen’s teachers benefit, but what about teachers in other cities?! Won’t they curse him?!”

”Has Lu Xiaobu really lost his mind?!”

”Probably he has! Likely later he’ll give an explanation!”

”I think so too; just say he drank too much, misspoke, or offer some kind of reasonable excuse!”

”Lu Xiaobu played a losing move this time!”

”...”

They gave up; they couldn’t research anything worthwhile!

No matter which team, the conclusion was that Lu Xiaobu was out of his mind, just squandering!

However, they didn’t completely give up; Lu Group is soon to hold a press conference, maybe they can glean some clues then!

By then, whether true or false will be settled!

...

Lu Group’s press conference is ready.

Reporters were whispering.

”What do you think is up with Lu Xiaobu?”

”Indeed! Doing something that costs much effort without gain, what’s the point?!”

”I think Lu Xiaobu’s brain is malfunctioning! As if there’ll be anyone praising him! Don’t know the saying goes ’worry not for scarcity, but inequality’! His actions might seem beneficial, but how many realize it?!”

”I feel Lu Xiaobu is going to get criticized again!”

”Don’t talk nonsense! We’re still at the venue!”

”Right, it could be explained as a misunderstanding soon!”

”I agree, I’ve even prepared the news in advance!”

”Oh crap! I forgot! I’ll start writing now! How did I not think of it!”

”That’s the difference between the smart and the foolish! Hahaha! Who’da thought Lu Xiaobu is so clever! How could he do such a dim-witted thing! Must’ve been a momentary lapse!”

”Waiting! Waiting!”

”...”

Almost none of these reporters believed Lu Xiaobu would really do it!

After all, anyone with a bit of wit knows this news only breeds resentment, not gratitude!

You have it, others don’t, and they will curse you!

This is reality; this is human nature’s dark side!

Wouldn’t someone as sharp as Lu Xiaobu think of this?!

Thus, they all believed today’s press conference surely would clarify this misunderstanding!

”Lu Xiaobu is here!” a reporter shouted, and everyone quieted down!
