Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 965: Chapter 963: High-Risk Profession

Zhang Hui’s piercing voice made everyone around feel a tightness in their hearts.

Yet, Zhang Hui continued, sweeping her gaze over the parents around her: ”Just admit it! Nowadays, every time something happens, the first thing out of your mouths is to report the teacher to the education bureau! To get the teacher fired!”

Some parents opened their mouths, trying to refute.

”Shut up!” Zhang Hui sneered, ”I know what you want to say! You didn’t think about it! That’s because I and your son have no issues! If I slapped your son, would you want that?!”

At that moment, the parents stopped talking.

”Lu Xiaobu, see this? This is the current situation! If a teacher hits a student, it’s the teacher’s fault! If a student hits a teacher, it’s still the teacher’s fault!” Zhang Hui laughed ironically.

”Actually, this is just the beginning!”

”The most terrifying thing is that being a teacher has become a high-risk job! Do you know that?” Zhang Hui laughed, ”In recent years, incidents of insulting teachers or even murdering them, haven’t they happened frequently?”

But this laughter was so desolate.

She continued, ”Being a teacher, you get neither respect nor financial incentives. In this situation, you still ask me to be diligent and fulfill my conscience! I fulfill my conscience, who fulfills mine?!”

”So, I might as well make some money! Don’t you think?”

Zhang Hui’s words were sharp, each word like a knife cutting into people’s hearts.

”Alright, I’ve said my piece! Feels good!” Zhang Hui shrugged, ”As for what happens to me next, I’ll accept it!”

Then, she looked at Lu Xiaobu. In her heart, she thought that someone as unruly as Lu Xiaobu would be extremely angry after being scolded like this.

However, she didn’t see any anger on Lu Xiaobu’s face, instead, he seemed to be in a state of deep thought.

She even saw Lu Xiaobu take out his phone, as if searching for something.

After a while, she heard Lu Xiaobu say a sentence, ”How much do you think a teacher should earn?”

”Huh?!” Zhang Hui was stunned.

Her mind couldn’t quite process it.

How did the conversation turn to this?

”Forget it, it’s pointless asking you.” Lu Xiaobu waved his hand, then he made a phone call to Liang Lan, inquiring about the average salary and other statistics in Shimen.

”Let’s set it at three thousand.” Lu Xiaobu stroked his chin, then looked at Zhang Hui, ”If on top of your normal salary, you receive an additional three thousand a month, would you be willing to be a good teacher?”

Zhang Hui was still in a state of confusion, but instinctively nodded, ”Of course I would!”

Her total additional income for a month didn’t even reach three thousand!

”Alright then, starting today, the Lu Group will set up a dedicated foundation where all teachers in Shimen can register!”

”I will assign a specialized team for assessment, and anyone qualified as a good teacher can receive an extra three thousand per month!”

”Furthermore, there will be additional rewards at the end-of-year review!” Lu Xiaobu said calmly, and after speaking, he looked at Zhang Hui, ”What do you think?!

”What?!” Zhang Hui was dumbfounded, staring blankly at Lu Xiaobu, ”Are you serious?! Three thousand per person?!”

Then she quickly shook her head, ”No, no way, you must be kidding me! There are over thirty million teachers in the Heavenly Dynasty, with at least seventeen million being full-time! How could you afford that?!”

Seventeen million, each receiving three thousand, that’s over fifty billion a month; even the Lu Group couldn’t bear that!

”Hold on, I meant all of Shimen!” Lu Xiaobu rolled his eyes.

Damn, she took it to the national level!

”Oh! Oh! Oh!” Zhang Hui finally came to her senses, but she still shook her head, ”Shimen has roughly a hundred thousand teachers, three thousand per person is still three hundred million a month! That’s thirty-six billion a year! Including other costs, at least forty billion! Don’t joke with me!”

She didn’t believe Lu Xiaobu could be so foolish, pulling out forty billion a year to do something so thankless?!

Lu Xiaobu’s assets totaled just a few hundred billion, forty billion a year would deplete his assets in a couple of decades!

Is there anyone this foolish in the world?

The surrounding parents also shook their heads, wearing expressions of disbelief.

”Stop kidding! Forty billion a year?! What’s the point?!”

”Exactly, this isn’t investment, there’s no money to be made; it’s a money pit that just burns money!”

”Young Master Bu probably miscalculated! Missed a zero!”

”I suspect so, mistook forty billion for four billion!”

”...”

They shared the same thought with Zhang Hui, believing only an idiot would do such a thing!

However, at this moment, Liang Lan rushed over: ”Young Master, the foundation is already established, when should we announce it?!”

Everyone was shocked by Liang Lan’s words!

It was actually true?!

In such a short time, the foundation was already established?!

Oh my god! Lu Xiaobu was really planning to spend forty billion a year!

They wondered if there was something wrong with Lu Xiaobu’s mind!

No normal person would do this!

”Announce it shortly.” Lu Xiaobu nodded, then looked at Zhang Hui, ”I do what I want to do, you do what you should do, I hope you become a good teacher. Of course, regarding students’ respect, I will also send people to monitor it!”

Zhang Hui dumbly nodded.

Her mind was still completely confused!

She never imagined that this would be the result!

Just because of her words, Lu Xiaobu decided to spend forty billion?! No, forty billion every year!?!

”By the way, Chenxi can be dismissed now, right?” Lu Xiaobu asked Zhang Hui.

”Yes!” Zhang Hui nodded dumbly again.

”Alright, let’s go!” Lu Xiaobu picked up the little girl and walked out.

”Why are you doing this?!” Zhang Hui suddenly felt a strong surge of emotion and shouted at Lu Xiaobu’s back!

”Why?” Lu Xiaobu turned around and smiled, then looked at the little girl who was giggling and said, ”Tell your teacher why?”

”Because, my brother is, a squanderer! Hehehe!” The little girl raised her little fist and laughed proudly.

”Exactly! I’m a squanderer!” Lu Xiaobu laughed heartily, holding the little girl as he continued to walk away!

He was a squanderer, his job was to spend money!

If he could spend it in a meaningful way, why not?!

To change the whole nation was impossible for him, at least in the short term, but he could manage all of Shimen!

Zhang Hui watched Lu Xiaobu’s back, suddenly feeling as if all the energy had been drained from her, and she sat down on the ground.

Touching the cheek that Lu Xiaobu had just slapped, she suddenly showed a silly smile.

The slap was worth it!

So worth it!

As she had said earlier, if she could, she definitely wanted to be a good teacher!

At this moment, the slap was no longer a humiliation, but an honor!

Many years later, the renowned educator Zhang Hui would always mention this slap when she gave lectures in her classes!
