Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 700: Chapter 698: Starting [3 Updates]

Lu Qingwen, an eSports enthusiast!

Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an overstatement—he just loves to play games and watch matches!

Especially since his last name is also Lu, he felt an inexplicable support for Lu Xiaobu.

Thus, after the Extinct website went live, he decided to check it out in a supportive spirit.

His headphones had recently stopped working, and he wanted to buy a new pair.

So, he started browsing.

”What are you looking at?”

Lu Qingwen’s girlfriend, Xiao Zhang, walked out of the room and leaned on his back as she spoke.

”I’m looking at headphones. Ours keep malfunctioning,” Lu Qingwen said, patting Xiao Zhang’s hand.

”Then why don’t you check out Taobao? I’m a Taobao member; I get discounts, and I also have coupons from a while back!” Xiao Zhang frowned at the prices on the Extinct website.

”But this is Young Master Bu’s website! We should support it. Besides, look, there are coupons here too!” Lu Qingwen laughed.

”The prices are still higher than on Taobao,” Xiao Zhang rolled her eyes, ”This pair looks pretty nice though.”

However, she didn’t protest too much.

It wasn’t a lot of money and not worth a fight!

”Yeah, let’s take a look,” Lu Qingwen said cheerfully, clicking into the details.

He browsed carefully.

The more he looked, the more satisfied he became.

”How about this pair?!”

Lu Qingwen said, very pleased with himself.

”Sure, but let’s make sure it’s authentic! It’d be a waste if we spent more only to buy fakes,” Xiao Zhang took the initiative to start discerning for him.

”Alright, alright, you’re the online shopping expert, I’ll listen to you,” Lu Qingwen embraced his girlfriend, watching her navigate.

Xiao Zhang was very fashionable and had a natural talent for shopping.

On Taobao, filled with counterfeits, she could always accurately distinguish the fakes from the real deals and rarely got deceived.

But after a little while...

”Huh?! What’s up with this website? Why is there only one seller for these headphones?!” Xiao Zhang wondered.

”What’s wrong?” Lu Qingwen was puzzled.

”You know, on Taobao, there are usually dozens of sellers for the same item, with varying prices, some real, some fake! But on Extinct, there’s just this one seller for the same pair of headphones!” Xiao Zhang pointed out.

For clarity, she even opened up Taobao’s site and searched for the same pair of headphones.

Sure enough, there were twenty-seven different listings on Taobao—all from different sellers.

Prices ranging from 108 to 312!

Compared to that, Extinct offered only one—325 yuan!

”See, you can’t compare prices from different sellers on Extinct,” Xiao Zhang said discontentedly: ”And on top of that, the price is the highest! Is this not a monopoly?”

She was used to picking and choosing, and suddenly being given just one option was off-putting!

”That’s good though! Didn’t the website say it? It’s self-operated! It’s all Young Master Bu’s own sales! It should be genuine!”

Unlike Xiao Zhang’s dissatisfaction, Lu Qingwen was quite happy with the situation.

He really did not like to fuss over shopping. As long as the quality was assured, that was enough for him.

”That’s not necessarily true. Lu Xiaobu is a businessman; I’ll inspect it closely for you!”

Seeing that Lu Qingwen really wanted to buy from Extinct website, Xiao Zhang didn’t say much more.

She scrutinized the product details but then frowned, ”Qingwen, look, besides the manufacturer’s certification, there’s some Lu Xiaobu certification. What’s this certification about?! We’re paying extra just for that?!”

”Young Master Bu certification!? That settles it, nothing more to say, let’s buy it!”

Xiao Zhang responded with a frown, but Lu Qingwen was delighted.

Lu Xiaobu’s personal endorsement is more reliable than any manufacturer’s certification!

”Alright! Fine! Let’s buy it then! But remember, if it turns out to be fake, we’re never buying from this website again!”

Even though it didn’t cost much more, Xiao Zhang still felt a bit uncomfortable about it!

”Alright, alright!”

Lu Qingwen was unconcerned.

How could Young Master Bu’s products possibly be fakes!

...

That night.

Lu Qingwen was chatting in his own circle of friends.

”Who buys stuff from the extinct website?!”

”So expensive! Who would buy from there!?”

”Exactly, and besides gaming products, other products don’t even have manufacturer certification, how can anyone feel assured about such products?! Imagine spending money only to end up with fakes!”

”Doesn’t the site say you can return products for any reason within seven days?!”

”Pfft, you believe that too? There must be conditions, who would be so naive to let you use something for seven days and then return it?!”

”True that!”

”...”

Seeing these chats, Lu Qingwen couldn’t contain himself: ”I think the extinct website is pretty good!”

As soon as he said this, Lu Qingwen immediately became the odd one out.

”What’s so good about it?!”

”Qingwen, we know you support Lu Xiaobu, but you still have to be rational about this!”

”Right, you just share the surname Lu, you’re not Lu Xiaobu’s relative, why the blind devotion?!”

”Be careful not to get scammed!”

”You guys, when do you think Qingwen’s stuff will arrive?!”

”Half a month? A month?! Isn’t that always the case! Besides, the website just launched, it’s bound to create a facade of grandeur, not surprising even if it takes two months!”

”...”

Lu Qingwen, reading these comments, felt extremely frustrated!

These bastards, they were all supporting Xiaobu just a few days ago, and now over this bit of money, and money that no one forced you to spend, you turn your backs just like that, what the hell!

”Just you wait, it’s not about the steamed buns but the principle, Young Master Bu won’t let me down, once the products arrive I’ll slap your faces!” Lu Qingwen banged out these words!

Once Lu Qingwen’s words came out, it immediately angered everyone.

”Lu Qingwen, are you serious? Slapping our faces?!”

”Is Lu Xiaobu your relative?! Why so serious!”

”White lotus b*tch! Minding other people’s business!”

”Fine then! Since you’ve said that, I’ll wait and see!”

”Damn it!”

”...”

Lu Qingwen didn’t reply anymore.

He was holding back his anger, damn it! Just you wait!

...

The next day.

Morning.

People in Lu Qingwen’s circle were still discussing the extinct topic because of Lu Qingwen’s provocation!

”Lu Qingwen, how’s it going?! Have your items been dispatched yet?!”

”Yeah! Show us a screenshot! Make sure you don’t buy something from somewhere else and pretend it’s that!”

”Haha, Lu Qingwen just loves to save face, this kind of thing doesn’t surprise us!”

”...”

Lu Qingwen was so angry!

He directly logged onto the extinct website, logged into his account and took a screenshot!

”What more do you want, find the tracking number for yourself! Go check it yourself!” Lu Qingwen said furiously.

However.

”Pffft! Lu Qingwen, that’s enough from you!”

”Seriously, a fake screenshot?!”

”If you really want to slap our faces, then show a real screenshot!”

”Just look, this is too fake! Shipped yesterday and it’s arrived today?! And it’s still in transit?!”

”Could you at least photoshop it with some skill?!”

”...”

Seeing these comments, Lu Qingwen was dumbfounded and after taking a closer look himself, he finally realized...

”What the hell!? ”
