Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 696: Chapter 694: The Prancing Horse [Second Update]

”Huh?”

Lu Xiaobu raised his eyebrows upon hearing Fei Jian’s words.

This Fei Jian is quite interesting.

”Please, Young Master Bu, don’t misunderstand, since I’ve taken on this responsibility, I have to be accountable for it! Therefore, I can only speak about the issues I’ve thought of!”

Fei Jian stood up, his eyes showing efficiency.

”Good, I like this kind of attitude, say whatever you have to say!”

Lu Xiaobu nodded, revealing a satisfied smile.

Yes, seeing someone like this, Lu Xiaobu not only isn’t annoyed, but he actually appreciates it!

This contest is against Lin Feng, and that’s no secret, everyone knows.

Therefore, if there isn’t someone who dares to fight and struggle, they might not even be able to hold their ground!

Think about it, if we’re dealing with a pushover, just one scare from Lin Feng could end it all!

Even to say, a person who follows orders blindly, can you be sure they’re not Lin Feng’s own?

So, the more headstrong Fei Jian is, and the more capable he is, the happier he becomes!

”Thank you, Young Master Xie!” Fei Jian nodded, ”First of all, point one, I don’t think this will be successful! This is like a fight against overwhelming odds!”

As soon as these words came out!

”How audacious!”

Liang Lan instantly became enraged like a lioness, glaring at Fei Jian: ”As the CEO of Alinbaba, this is shaking the morale of our troops!”

Hearing Liang Lan’s rebuke, Fei Jian’s face flashed with a touch of guilt, but he still stood his ground: ”Sister Lan, I’m just telling the truth. If you want a yes-man, please replace me!”

”You!”

Liang Lan’s expression turned grim.

The Young Master’s plan had always been sacred to her; even if she couldn’t understand it, it just meant she wasn’t capable enough!

But this guy dared to be so outspoken, simply recklessly bold!

”Sister Lan, don’t get so worked up! It’s just a few of us here. Speaking like this might actually help solve the problem!” Lu Xiaobu pulled on Liang Lan’s hand, trying to console her.

”Young Master Xie understands!” Fei Jian was immensely grateful.

He had taken a great risk in speaking up today.

After all, no employer likes such blunt contradiction from their employees!

It could be said that he had committed a taboo in the workplace!

However, after much consideration, he decided to speak out!

After all, if this issue was not dealt with straightforwardly, the consequences could be even more fatal!

Luckily, Young Master Bu wasn’t like those ordinary bosses and showed him understanding!

And that was also why he decided to take on this burden!

”Tell me your reasons.” Lu Xiaobu looked at Fei Jian: ”Talking without evidence won’t cut it.”

”Yes, Young Master Bu.” Fei Jian took out a document from behind him: ”First of all, although the online shopping market is vast, it has yet to be unlocked.”

”This is like those prophecies saying sell combs to monks, using the right method will naturally lead to a surge in sales, but if it’s the wrong one, it could mean a complete loss!”

”And currently, Taobao’s approach is the best one on the market and the one that many companies targeting this market emulate!”

”However, as far as I know, Young Master wants to innovate, and on a massive scale, at that. This is something I can’t comprehend! After all, innovation often equates to death.”

Fei Jian spoke confidently, presenting his understanding of the big picture in the simplest of terms.

”Uh-huh, your analysis is very logical!” Lu Xiaobu nodded, but instead of responding, he asked: ”Then why do you think they emulate that way?”

Without waiting for Fei Jian to answer, Lu Xiaobu told him: ”Because they want to divide the cake, while we want to grab the cake!”

Upon this proclamation, Fei Jian was shaken to the core.

He had never considered the Young Master’s vision to be so grand!

What does Young Master mean?!

He wants to swallow the entire market’s cake in one bite!

That sounds very imposing, but is it realistic?!

”Also, regarding the profit issue, you don’t need to worry about that, that’s for me to consider! Any other questions?”

Lu Xiaobu continued to ask.

”The problem of attracting merchants to join our platform!”

Fei Jian sighed, knowing that continuing to discuss the macro situation would only lead to fruitless arguing. It made more sense to address the specifics.

”Young Master, I want to ask how we plan to resolve the issue of merchant enrollment for our first website?”

Fei Jian spoke seriously, ”Taobao has dominated online shopping for years, essentially securing its merchants, while our influence in that area is almost nonexistent! If we only have an empty website, then the establishment of this website is meaningless!”

Such painfully blunt words.

It was just short of outright saying that the first website is just a burn of money!

”Continue.”

Lu Xiaobu signaled Fei Jian to go on.

The more problems Fei Jian identified, the better it would be for him when he eventually took control of the company.

”Huh?”

Fei Jian was immediately bewildered.

What do you mean ’continue’?

Young Master, shouldn’t you be explaining this to me?!

However, he thought it over and, with patience, continued.

”Second, Young Master, price!”

Fei Jian turned a page and continued: ”Based on my understanding, you intend to focus on the second website! Emphasizing high quality, high service, and high after-sales support!”

”However, since ancient times, the biggest selling point of online shopping has been cutting out the middleman to offer lower prices! And now we’re looking to enhance our services, which inevitably means higher prices!”

”Mm-hmm, not bad, continue.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded without providing an explanation.

This was a problem seriously lacking an explanation!

What, should we say that quality determines price, and the future belongs to service?!

While true, saying so now would be nothing but empty talk!

Spouting a bunch of platitudes to Fei Jian?!

Why bother!

Upon hearing Lu Xiaobu’s response, Fei Jian suddenly felt a sense of desolation.

The Young Master doesn’t provide a solution. Could it be that there is no solution?!

He had just said that he was absolutely loyal to Young Master Bu.

But, just as well, he had said that since he had taken on this responsibility, he must be accountable for it!

”Young Master, it’s all here, please have a look yourself. I’m not feeling well. Call me if you need anything!”

Fei Jian put down the documents and left.

He didn’t want to continue the conversation. It felt utterly pointless!

From start to finish, Young Master Bu seemed to have the naivety of someone fresh in society—brimming with boundless confidence, yet lacking any real solutions!

His heart was weary!

If the Young Master was just squandering money out of a grudge against Lin Feng, Fei Jian felt that he was not the right fit for this path.

He was considering whether to ask for his old position back?!

”Young Master, I’ll go teach this Fei Jian a lesson! He’s gotten way too bold!”

Liang Lan was infuriated!

When had such a person ever appeared in the Lu Group?!

How dared he be so impudent?!

How had giving him face turned out like this?

”Don’t get agitated.”

Lu Xiaobu gestured with his hand, feeling not the slightest annoyance. On the contrary, he was rather pleased, ”Fei Jian is talented and truly wants to accomplish something. It’s normal for an ambitious and talented person to have a temper! I wouldn’t dare use someone without a temper!”

”Even so, Fei Jian has still been too audacious!” Liang Lan grumbled, feeling somewhat irritated.

”Don’t worry, it’s just a double-edged sword! In my hands, it’ll only slay enemies, not harm us!” The corners of Lu Xiaobu’s mouth curved into a smile.
