Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

”The blood clot is pressing on the central nervous system, but it has become smaller than yesterday. In theory, it shouldn’t suddenly cause intense headaches.”

Song Ning’s fingers hovered over Bai Xiqin’s head, as green energy gradually seeped into Bai Xiqin’s forehead, inspecting her injuries.

The blood clot is in the brain, and removing it all at once could easily affect the brain, so Song Ning chose to break it down a little each day, using the most gentle method to eliminate the clot.

Song Ning examined very carefully. Even though he had great confidence in his medical skills, he still meticulously checked each nodule for abnormalities.

”Will recovering memories affect the brain? Will there be any aftereffects?”

Bai Yifan thought about his sister’s behavior today.

At that moment, his sister seemed to suddenly remember something, and yet it also appeared as if she remembered nothing.

It was as if she suddenly became someone else, and then changed back in an instant.

”No, as long as the blood clot disappears, there will be no effect. The moment of memory recovery might be slightly painful, but after absorbing more crystal cores, even if there are aftereffects, they can be quickly recovered.” Song Ning gently shook his head and continued.

”The human brain also produces brain waves, which never disappear. The blood clot greatly affects brain waves, which might cause Xiao Niu to forget some things and then suddenly remember them again.”

”The blood clot causes the brain wave to change, making it unable to merge. When the blood clot disappears and the brain wave frequency becomes the same, memories can be restored. If memories are suddenly recovered while the blood clot is still there, there might be a bit of pain, but this is not considered an aftereffect.”

After Song Ning awakened to the Wood Ability, he particularly focused on reading about human anatomy, allowing him to quickly determine pathological causes for other organs.

But the structure of the brain is really too complicated.

Compared to ordinary people, Superpower Users have an additional crystal core in the brain, and even a small blood clot can cause immeasurable consequences by pressing on the nerves.

”Make sure to rest well, avoid strenuous activities. In a few days, the blood clot will disappear, and perhaps the brain wave will restore its previous frequency,” Song Ning said with a smile.

”Yes, rest well, Xiao Fan, stop dragging your sister out to play!”

Wang Yiyun gave a cold glance at Bai Yifan, then helped Bai Xiqin towards the stairs leading to the second floor.

Bai Yifan shrank his neck and didn’t dare to speak.

Bai Xiqin, having experienced the bloody scene for the first time this morning, was exhausted both mentally and physically, and fell asleep as soon as she lay on the bed.

After confirming that Bai Xiqin was okay, Song Ning left the bus, as he still needed to find his parents!

”But why did my sister lose those particular memories?”

Bai Yifan sat on the sofa, his expression curious, still unable to fully grasp Song Ning’s words.

Wait!

Is the soul a form of brain wave?

Bai Yifan suddenly shivered.

If he remembered correctly, the memories his sister lost were those in which she claimed to dream about the apocalypse.

And according to the grandparents who later returned from the future, Bai Yifan suddenly shivered with fear.

He seemed to realize something and looked at Bai Xiqin with a face full of terror.

”Xiao Fan, what’s wrong?”

Bai Zhengxuan watched Bai Yifan quivering uncontrollably and waved his hand in front of him.

Is this kid pretending to be silly to avoid getting beaten?

”N-nothing,”

Bai Yifan gently shook his head, his lips pressed into a tight line as if wanting to say something but lost for words.

”Xiao Fan, where’s my bicycle?” Leng Yebai suddenly said, ”Go out and fetch my bicycle!”

Having said that, Leng Yebai grabbed Bai Yifan and walked outside the bus.

”Ah, Brother Leng, what are you doing! The bicycle is right outside! It might be covered in dust, but it’s still your beloved baby! A rinse will do!”

Leng Yebai moved quickly, and Bai Yifan stumbled trying to keep up with his pace, wobbling under Leng Yebai’s guidance.

After getting off the bus, Leng Yebai directly ignored the bicycle on the ground and instead dragged Bai Yifan towards an empty area.

”Brother Leng, you’re not going to hit me, are you?” Bai Yifan became instantly alert, ”Can we negotiate for you to hit me inside the bus?”

If dad sees how miserable I look after getting hit, he might not hit me again.

Leng Yebai did not respond to Bai Yifan’s words and simply pulled him to a spot some distance from the bus.

At this time, the Bai Family was busy inside the bus preparing some nutritional food for Bai Xiqin and paid no attention to what Leng Yebai was doing with Bai Yifan outside.

After all, Leng Yebai wouldn’t beat Bai Yifan to death.

As long as he’s alive, it’s okay!

”The point in time when Xiao Niu lost her memory, was it the day she told you about the impending apocalypse.”

Leng Yebai went straight to the point.

Bai Yifan was taken aback, not expecting Brother Leng to ask that.

Bai Yifan lowered his head, looking at his feet, pressing his lips tightly without making a sound.

He didn’t know how to respond.

If the sister who went through the apocalypse came back in this body, does it mean his sister’s soul traveled here, or did she take over her counterpart’s body in this world?

Bai Yifan didn’t want to believe in such speculation.

If he followed his reasoning—if his sister doesn’t recover her memory, it means the sister who helped them gather supplies is gone.

If she does recover her memory, the sister who grew up with him disappears.

Leng Yebai saw Bai Yifan’s reaction and knew he received his answer.

”A kid like you shouldn’t think so much!” Leng Yebai patted Bai Yifan on the back of the head with a big hand, ”Your sister is your sister, whether it’s the future sister or the past sister, they’re the same person. Holding both past and future memories means no one disappears.”

Privately, Leng Yebai hoped Bai Xiqin would recover her memories because that version of her was someone he shared spaces with in the lab and accumulated beautiful memories with over time.

But how could one person have two souls?

Even if Bai Zhengxuan and Liu Jing’s middle-aged forms and Zhang Yiming’s future body have returned to the present.

Here and now, he believed they used the same soul.

Bai Zhengxuan is both Middle-aged Bai Zhengxuan and Liu Jing is also Middle-aged Liu Jing, Zhang Yiming is also the future Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming.

The clash of past and future produced two people, but aren’t they fundamentally the same person?

Past and future are one; future and present are one.

The scars of injuries received by present-day Bai Zhengxuan, Liu Jing, and Zhang Yiming would also appear on their future selves.

Just because they exist at the same time doesn’t mean they are entirely different people. From beginning to end, they’ve shared the same body, only brought together by the timeline.

”Brother Leng, do you mean the fusion of memories?”

Bai Yifan lifted his head, a slight sense of relief washing over his face.

If that were the case, his sister would still be his sister; she was the same person after all, merely integrating her memories.
