Time Travel: The Best Doctor in Ancient Times

Chapter 768: Chapter 601: Human Purgatory Witch Gu Temple

”Old Devout Woman, life and death are predetermined, just wish yourself good luck!”

Having put on his little shoes, the little meat bun climbed up from the ground, straightened his messy little clothes, and darted towards the entrance of the Bed Chamber with his bare feet flapping on the floor.

”Old Handsome Guy! Old Handsome Guy, wake up! Take a whiff of this!” Shaking the unconscious Wuchang Taitian, the little meat bun opened the bracelet on his wrist with a nervous face, revealing a blood-red medicinal pill right in his palm!

In his urgency, the little meat bun tried hard to restrain himself, but the shaking was so violent that it almost scattered Wuchang Taitian’s old bones!

The pain was intense, but Wuchang Taitian managed to force his eyes open a crack and saw the chubby little face right in front of him, ”Yaoyao...”

This was indeed his fierce little child!

”Old Handsome Guy, quick, take a whiff, someone’s coming!” Anxiously extending the medicinal pill towards his nose, the little meat bun listened to the noise outside, his eyebrows knitting slightly!

After everything he’d been through, Wuchang Taitian felt that he could no longer use his knowledge of children to judge the little one before him!

Even though his body ached all over, he still took two deep breaths as hard as he could!

The foul smell that entered his nose almost made him vomit, but he didn’t say a word!

Because, right after he took in the air, the little meat bun didn’t give him any chance to speak, dragging him by his clothes and stuffing him into a quilt packing before he could react!

”Yaoyao, run, don’t mind me! The guards are outside the door, you can’t take me with you...” Wuchang Taitian roared with all his strength before he was shoved inside.

”How could that be possible? Mother said, it’s all up to us! A man’s word is his bond, just like a steed’s gallop that cannot be pursued. I said I would take you with me, and I will! I still have something to ask you!” The little meat bun pursed his little lips, unhesitatingly pushing Old Handsome Guy’s head, which was sticking out of the quilt, back in, and urged him, ”No matter what happens outside, do not come out or make a sound! I’ll take you away! Rest assured and rest!”

Without waiting for any reaction from inside the quilt, the little meat bun dragged the quilt and hid behind a large column at the entrance of the Bed Chamber.

After hiding the quilt well, the little meat bun patted his little paws and emerged from behind the pillar with a cold smirk on his face, ”Originally, I thought about leaving with a flourish, to be a quiet beautiful young man, but now it seems that’s not going to happen! Then don’t blame me, Young Master!”

With that, he slowly opened the small medicine pack in his hand, which was originally kept close to his chest inside a sachet, and now, this was the only medicine left on his body!

This was the life-saving medicine his mother had left for him!

When the Allied Forces of the Three Kingdoms burned Baili Mountain, he had used it once...

The blood-red Medicine Sand, just a tiny pinch, emitted a faint fragrance, but the little meat bun knew its effectiveness!

”Illusory Sea, you must behave! You need to help me!”

Fondling the Medicine Sand in his palm, the little meat bun murmured softly.

His mother had told him that this medicine was called Illusory Sea; those who smelled it would fall into the Illusory Sea and be unable to extricate themselves...

The scene where tens of thousands of soldiers from the Allied Forces of the Three Kingdoms killed each other on Baili Mountain was still fresh in his memory, and it made the little meat bun shiver, but then he gritted his teeth and scattered the Illusory Sea Medicine Sand from his palm!

The fragrance of the Illusory Sea immediately enveloped him, and without any hesitation, he lifted his little paw and pressed the switch to the Bed Chamber’s door!

The moment the palace doors burst open, the little meat bun shot out of the gap like an arrow released from its bow!

The tiny shadow weaved through the surrounding guards outside the chamber, disappearing from everyone’s sight in the blink of an eye!

As he looked at the wide-open doors of the Bed Chamber and the countless guards plunged into confusion, the little meat bun suppressed the worry in his eyes and turned to continue sprinting away!

”Old Handsome Guy, wait for me. Wait until I’ve spread the fragrance of the Illusory Sea throughout the entire Witch Gu Temple!”

Behind him were the sounds of clashing blades and piteous screams. The little meat bun gritted his teeth and pushed his speed to the limit, dashing non-stop through the vast Witch Gu Temple and not even sparing the outside, choosing paths where people were present!

Wherever his small figure passed, only the sounds of battling and cries remained, along with the ground stained red with blood...

Only when the last bit of fragrance on him dissipated did the little meat bun stop running and started to quickly backtrack towards the Bed Chamber, avoiding the noise of battle.

His Old Handsome Guy was still there, uncertain if he had been injured by the crazed guard dogs!

Having already committed to memory the layout of the Witch Gu Temple, the little meat bun quickly made his way back to Xiangka Tianji’s Bed Chamber, hugging the wall to sneak back behind the large column, evading the blindly fighting guards, and cautiously retreating outward!

Throughout the Witch Gu Temple, with tens of thousands of guards on duty, the cries of battle echoed endlessly in every hall!

The little meat bun, dragging the quilt behind him and avoiding the madly fighting humans, strutted away as if he were in a deserted place!

”Little lad Xiao Erlang, dragging a handsome guy to see mother, humph ry oh hey oh, woo ry oh hey oh...”

While ear-piercing cries of battle filled his ears, the little meat bun hummed a nursery rhyme, his escape merry and light-hearted!

”Yaoyao...”

From behind the cotton quilt came a helpless, doting voice.

”Old Handsome Guy, you just sleep tight,” a nursery rhyme came to a halt as the little meatball continued their steps without stopping, cheerfully opening their mouth to speak.

”Ah... Yaoyao, what’s that sound outside?” A long sigh followed by an inquiring voice drifted over.

”Gah? Er... that... that...” Upon hearing this, the little meatball suddenly sniffled, ”That’s dogs fighting! It’s got nothing to do with me!”

”You! I really don’t know who you take after!” Wuchang Taitian couldn’t help but feel helpless against this blatantly illogical response.

”Of course, I take after my mom!” the little meatball replied while scattering their feet in a run and proudly answering, ”My mom must take after her mom, or maybe her dad, wahahaha...”

”Ruoshui, it’s not like this, I also...” Wuchang Taitian’s voice gradually faded away inside the quilt wrapping.

The little meatball was preoccupied with planning their escape route and was so elated at their successful breakout that they evidently didn’t notice the faint sounds coming from behind!

The Witch Gu Temple was drenched in the smell of blood and overwhelmed by the sounds of fighting!

Finally escaping the reach of the Witch Gu Temple, the little meatball stood on the mid-mountain slope and looked up at the continuous stretch of grand palaces at the mountain’s peak. With hands on hips, they burst into loud laughter, ”Haha... Young Master is out now! You Witch Gu Temple can fend for yourself!”

Having said that, they dragged the quilt off the ground and, swinging their short legs, scattered their feet to run down the mountain!

They didn’t take the stone path down the mountain because the stone path had steps!

They chose the forest alongside the stone path, winding their way down!

Shielded by towering ancient trees and thick layers of fallen leaves, the little meatball hacked their way through, not at all worried about the Old Handsome Guy in the quilt getting hit, which made their run even more lively!

When hungry, they’d eat some dry food; when thirsty, they’d drink some water from their water bladder!

Naturally, they didn’t forget to feed the Old Handsome Guy in the quilt, either!

They also took the opportunity to ask for directions while feeding him!

Great Swamp Mountain was surrounded by rolling mountains, all of which looked the same in the eyes of the little meatball!

Fortunately, their frail, on-the-verge-of-death Old Handsome Guy could give directions!

After three days and nights, the little meatball finally dragged the quilt behind and climbed out of Great Swamp Mountain. Along the way, they saw countless searching parties passing close to the stone path by their side!

”Idiots! Even if Young Master is brainless, I wouldn’t take the main road!”

They were merely walking beside the main road and, when encountering people searching deep in the mountains, they decisively hid!

No doubt, the edge of the stone path was the most dangerous spot, but of course, it was also the safest!

Exhausted like a little dead dog, the little meatball decided it was time to stop and rest a bit and feed their Old Handsome Guy something.

”Old Handsome Guy, you are my mom’s Lion Tiger. When I first met you, I heard the Old Devout Woman calling you Wuchang Taitian. Please forgive my disrespect; I just wanted to ask if that is indeed your name?” the little meatball voiced hesitantly, looking at the frail and pale yet still extraordinarily handsome Old Handsome Guy.

Wuchang Taitian, heart tightening, eventually gave a faint nod, ”Yes.”

”The ’tai’ of a platform? The ’tian’ of heaven?” the little meatball asked again with a face full of earnestness.

”Yes.” Wuchang Taitian closed his eyes.

”Then the Ruo Shui that you often mention—is it the ’ruo’ of ’the greatest good is like water’? Is that it?” The little meatball crawled over, pulling at his garment, asking with a face full of concern upon receiving an affirmation.

”No, it’s the ’ruo’ of ’Ruoshui has three thousand woes, only to take one ladle,’” Wuchang Taitian replied with closed eyes, a face full of struggle, eventually shaking his head in response.

”That’s not right!” the little meatball, upon hearing this, suddenly sat down on the ground with a look of disappointment, ”It surely is the ’ruo’ of ’the greatest good is like water’! How could it be ’Ruoshui has three thousand woes’? Oh... could I be mistaken? But Old Handsome Guy, why could you do that crouching tiger stint? My mom clearly said that in this world, only she could teach someone to perform such skills with just balance and speed, without using Inner Strength! How do you know it? My mom definitely hasn’t taught you, why do you know it?”

”I...” Wuchang Taitian opened his mouth as if to speak, but swallowed the rest of his words, the bitter struggle evident on his face.

The little meatball furrowed their tiny brows, pondered for a moment, then suddenly lifted their head, a look of excitement washing over as they spoke, ”Then Old Handsome Guy, do you know a person named Gu Jianshu?”

Gu Jianshu!

Gu Jianshu!

At the mention of this name, the weak figure of Wuchang Taitian suddenly fell backwards!

”Old Handsome Guy!” Seeing this, the little meatball was shocked and quickly crawled over to hold his head, looking at his pale-as-snow complexion with urgency, ”Old Handsome Guy, what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me! My mom has a secret room in the bedchamber in Liuzhou City, and nobody but me has ever entered. Inside is a small temple, aside from holding the Longevity Plagues of Gu Taitian and Li Ruoshui, there is also a Longevity Plaque with the name Gu Jianshu on it!”

”My mom said that he is our closest kin, the parents of my mom, and her old man!”
