Chapter 765: Chapter 598 Old Handsome Guy, I’ll Take You to Find My Mother_2

The chamber finally returned to calm.

After a long while, the calm of the chamber was disturbed when a cupboard at the edge was pushed open, and a small fleshy bun emerged, panting and gasping for breath, patting his chest, “I was about to suffocate! I really was about to die!”

Catching his breath, the little fleshy bun crawled back behind the cupboard again and, with all his might, dragged out a person.

“Old Handsome Guy, Old Handsome Guy, did you see it? The face of that Old Devout Woman turned green with anger! Wakaka…Idiot! Fool!” While helping the Old Handsome Guy in front of him brush off the dirt on his body, the little fleshy bun couldn’t help exclaiming with joy, “Who would dig a tunnel to get out? This mountain is so high, I’m not that stupid! Hmph…”

“Yaoyao is indeed clever.” Wuchang Taitian struggled to steady his breathing, his face beaming with pride.

“Right? Didn’t I say I’m smart? That Old Devout Woman certainly can’t outsmart me!” Encouraged by his words, the little fleshy bun puffed up his chest, speaking with arrogant pride, “Old Handsome Guy, did you hear what that Old Devout Woman said? She’s searching the roads to Heluo City; my mother must be in Heluo City! Wakaka…Mom…Mom…I’m going to find my mother…”

“Cough, cough…” Wuchang Taitian, upon hearing this, tried to speak but started coughing violently, and with his coughs, fresh blood trickled from his pale lips.

Seeing this, the little fleshy bun immediately dropped his proud demeanor, hurriedly crawled forward, and carefully wiped the blood from his mouth, “I’m sorry, Old Handsome Guy, the medicine is all gone. Hold on, we’ll soon see my mother—she will surely save you.”

“Taking…taking me will only slow you down!” Wuchang Taitian shook his head, “Be a good boy, leave the food to me. I’ll wait for you and your mother in the hole, okay? Jiji thinks I’ve already escaped and won’t come after me anymore. I can definitely wait for you.”

“No way! You’re so sick you could die!” The little fleshy bun shook his head, his expression resolute, “Don’t worry about it, I will definitely take you to find my mother! Don’t talk, or you’ll cough up blood again. Rest for now…”

As he said this, the little fleshy bun took a blanket, placed it beside him, and forcibly pushed him down, “The Old Devout Woman has already sent people down the mountain. She’s not stupid and definitely won’t send just one wave. We’ll wait a day until she sends everyone she can, then we’ll follow them out!”

Having said that, the little fleshy bun started bustling about!

He went back to the hole, dragged out the hidden rations, and wrapped them up well. He also tied together the stolen blankets and sheets. All the while, he kept an ear out for any sign of Xiangka Tianji returning to the chamber.

Wuchang Taitian watched the busy little figure, his weathered eyes gradually misting over with tears, but he didn’t even have the strength to resist the little fleshy bun, let alone stop him!

“Fix a plank road and cross the Chencang secretly, haha… I’ve used it well this time. My mother will surely praise me when she knows! Wakaka…” The little fleshy bun was thrilled, the joy of seeing his mother again filling his chest.

Even if his martial arts weren’t as good as Xiao Han Mo’s, it was Xiao Han Mo who had repeatedly told him about military strategy!

The things his mother and grandfather taught him, he remembered clearly and distinctly!

As the little fleshy bun said, Xiangka Tianji was not foolish. After a day of fruitless searching, she decisively dispatched two more groups to continue scouring the path.

In the chamber without sun or moon, after the little fleshy bun felt hungry and ate three times, he finally guessed that enough time had passed and began to plan their escape!

Looking at Old Handsome Guy, who was three or four times his size, the little fleshy bun felt sorrowful; carrying him was impossible. Such a small physique was simply not adequate for the task.

But, fortunately, he had prepared in advance!

On the ground, several blankets were tied together, a large bundle and two water bladders were tied at the top. The little fleshy bun exerted himself to push the unconscious Old Handsome Guy into the middle of the blankets and wrapped him tightly. Then, with plump little paws, he grabbed the top of the bundle, took a deep breath, and declared firmly, “Let’s go, to find my mother!”

With that, he summoned all the Inner Strength in his small body and desperately dragged the long “tail” behind him, struggling toward the chamber’s stairway!

“Thump!”

“Thump!”

“…”

Every step the little fleshy bun ascended, the cotton-wrapped bundle behind him made a muffled sound.

This noise scared the little fleshy bun out of his wits, worried sick!

He wasn’t afraid of alerting the people outside the chamber because no one knew better than him how soundproof the chamber was; not a whisper could escape. His concern was for the person wrapped in the blankets!

“I hope it’s not damaging them?” After carefully checking, still not reassured, the little fleshy bun ultimately gave up dragging and instead started to climb up, embracing the blankets bit by bit…

“Phew!”

“Phew!”

“…”

Stooped and embracing the person inside the blankets, the little fleshy bun couldn’t use Inner Strength, and sweat poured off him as he gasped for air. But wiping his face and resting from time to time, he still refused to drag them!

Dragging would have been much easier than this burden!

But the steps in the chamber were made of sharply angled solid stone!

He was afraid! Afraid of hurting the person inside the blankets!

In the dark and steep chamber, the little fleshy bun arduously clung to the blanket bundle, his small frame cautiously retreating, pausing after each step…

Finally, after an exhausting effort, the little fleshy bun reached the top of the chamber stairway with tremendous difficulty. Following a brief rest, he pressed his ear against the chamber door to listen, ensuring all was quiet, before cautiously turning the chamber’s switch…

As the chamber doors receded on both sides, the little fleshy bun hadn’t even started to rejoice when his wide round eyes beheld the figure standing not far ahead, leaving him completely stunned…
