Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

Weiss was the first one to step foot inside the castle like building. As she was the strongest and also the most knowledgeable about the magus, she was without a doubt the most well suited person for this leading role.

Behind her, Peria and Elise entered together side by side. Peria was holding an artifact spear in her hands while the sword was at her waist. On the other hand, Elise was holding the artifact sword in her hands while the spear was kept on her back.

Weiss walked in the castle very carefully. All her senses and her perception stats were working in overdrive in order to keep her aware of whatever was happening around her.

There were no presence of any beasts or monsters here. As this place was an abandoned castle, that was very unnatural.

According to the diary of the count, what had made him to run away from here was a room filled with traps. He had almost died there several times and when he had managed to come out of the room, all his will power was gone. So he had not wasted any time and had ran away.

So it looked like this information was correct. The main danger that this castle had were traps and not monsters. That was also the reason why she was being this cautious while exploring it.

With her powerful perception, Weiss should be more suited for exploring this place. But as she had no way to determine any magical traps, she still needed to be cautious.

...

About an hour after entering the castle, Weiss found the first room that was not completely empty. Count Falgur had found his beloved axe in one room just like this.

Before finding this room, Weiss had came across several traps. But fortunately none of them were magical in nature and she had managed to detect all of them in advanced.

As for what was in this room, it was a metallic suit of Armour. This armoured suit was holding a large sword in its hand. The suit was also about three meters tall.

Even though Weiss did not feel anything from this armoured suit, she still approached it slowly with measured steps. But just as she came close to the 3 meters of the suit, suddenly it started moving.

At this exact time, Weiss suddenly felt that the armour had suddenly came to life. Life force had also suddenly appeared inside it. Currently, this armour was as strong as a low level official knight. There was even something inside it that was imitating the function of a life core.

Weiss easily dodged the swang large sword and went behind the armour. Then with her life force boosted feet, she lightly kicked one of the joints in the leg of the armour.

Even though this was very simple attack where Weiss was even holding back quite a bit, for a low level official knight, this attack from a high level one was extremely dangerous.

The joint of the armoured suit immediately broke and it lost one of its legs. That made the suit to lose its balance and fell down on the ground.

As soon as this happened, Weiss immediately attacked the chest area of the armoured suit. Then from the chest area, she took out a ball glowing with green light.

As soon as this ball was taken out, the armoured suit stopped moving. This was exactly the thing that was imitating the function of a life core of a knight. And it looked like this ball was also the reason why this armour was moving.

Now that it was down for the count, Weiss immediately started to check it out. She took about half an hour to thoroughly study both the armour and the fake core.

From this she managed to understand the function of the armour very easily. It was made following the process of creating an artifact for the knight system.

This armour was made of a metal with decent life force conductivity. It was also made with the body of a Knight in mind. This design was actually very impressive.

Currently Weiss would be able to recreate this armour from scratch with even better metal. So after studying it thoroughly, her need for this had gone away. But even with her incredible intelligence, she was unable to replicate the fake core.

She had managed to analyse the fake core and had understood it’s function. She had also managed to figure out how it was created and what the principle behind it was.

But there was one thing that she could not understand no matter what and this exact one thing was the main factor behind the awesome function of this fake core.

Weiss guessed that it was magic. As she actually had no idea how magic worked and how it functioned, it made sense that she would not be able to understand it in less than an hour.

But Weiss was very confident that even this mysterious magic would not be elusive to her for a long time. She just needed some time to do more research on this fake core.

So Weiss decided to leave the armour behind but took the fake core with her. Weiss and the other ladies had brought several bags with them to bring out the treasures from here and just now, only one of the bags got slightly filled.

...

After this interesting find, Weiss and the group continued to check the other rooms. The next interesting thing was found by Peria.

As she was searching one of the rooms with the two ladies, she mistakenly rotated the frame of a bed and that immediately activated a trap.

Suddenly several holes opened up in the walls of the room and several arrows came out of them. These arrows covered almost the whole room, so there was no place to dodge.

In this situation, the ladies could only block the arrows. Peria used her spear to do the blocking while Weiss and Elise used their swords.

When the arrows hit the weapons, sparks were created. But with their strength, all the ladies were able to block them without taking any damage.

But then Weiss suddenly got super excited. That was because all the arrows used here were artifact grade ones and there were at least a hundred of them here.

Now she actually started to feel a little bad about not triggering the other traps. If even one percent of them gave her artifact arrows, she would feel that it was worth it.

So even though Peria actually made a terrible mistake here, Weiss actually forgave her. Weiss was now in a good mood after adding so many arrows to her arsenal.

So just like this, the expedition to the ruin continued.
