Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

While riding a horse, the ladies would be able to travel at a much faster pace than when they were using a carriage.

But even then, they would need at least ten days of journey to reach the city of Lemarta. With a carriage this same journey would have taken almost 20 days.

During the traveling, they were also planning to stay in a few other cities but for only one day or so. Among those cities, one name made both Elise and Peria excited.

The name of this city was Osma and it was a city famous for its hot springs. Many ladies believed that bathing in the hot spring of this city could increase someone’s beauty. So the ladies here were looking forward to it.

The other cities on the way were just regular ones, so they were not exciting. But what was exciting was the ruin that Weiss was planning to explore.

This ruin was the same one that Count Falgur had explored before and here he had found his beloved axe. That axe currently had become Karl’s weapon as it suited his fighting style very well.

There was no doubt that this axe was of extremely high quality. And the ruin in question had not been fully explored by Count Falgur and his partners.

So there was a high possibility that Weiss and her group would also be able to find various valuable things there.

But that was actually not the thing that had attracted Weiss’s attention. What had actually attracted her attention was that ruin having some connection with a magus. She was really hoping to find some useful information there.

All the information that Weiss knew about the ruin was from the diary of the count. But if that place was truly related to a magus, then she needed to be extra careful.

According to Jonus, magus could use various magic related to curses and such. Those magics were invisible and for that reason, they were extremely difficult to deal with, especially for someone who had no idea about magic.

Weiss had already told everyone present here a few things about magus and such. But as they were completely unaware of something like this, they had a very hard time believing that this type of mystical thing could be real.

But still, as they trusted Weiss and respected her wisdom, they still had done their best to accept this information as truth and be extra cautious about this matter.

This was all the main things that Weiss needed to discuss. After that many other servants started to joined the knights on the table and a large scale party started. As Elise had finally became a high grade knight and was going to leave soon, a grand party was a must.

...

The next day, Weiss did not left for the journey. Everyone was too tired after partying a lot last night so the very next day was not a good day to start a long journey.

It was also good for Elise to take a day to first stabilise her own realm before the start of the journey. And everyone also needed to make some last minute preparations.

With all this factors in mind, Weiss decided to start the journey on the next day. By then everything should be fine and everyone should be ready.

As for what Weiss was going to do on this day, she actually went to the forest.

Even though the depths of the forest might be very dangerous, she had already thoroughly investigated the outskirts of the forest. So coming here was perfectly safe for someone as strong as her.

As for why she had came to the forest, it was to meet with her pets. The number of that was now two.

Her first pet was obviously Apep, the size changing snake. Currently she had taken control over almost 60 percent of the already explored area of the forest outskirts and had made that area to be even more safe for the villagers.

She had gotten a lot of benefits from the material of the Earth Overturning Great monster. As she was also a monster just like it, the materials from its body were more suitable for her than a human knight.

Currently Apep was a mid level monster and there was a high possibility that in a year or two, she would even be able to reach the realm of high level monster. This was actually an unbelievable growth speed.

And as Apep was actually stronger than most other monsters of the same level because of her monster core, she had no trouble dominating any of the monster who was not a high level one. And so far, no such monsters had been found in the outskirts of the forest.

Other than Apep, there was another beast that had managed to reach the realm of a monster. Weiss had found this beast in the forest just two months ago and after just one months, this monster had managed to learn the secret art for beasts and also had managed to reach the realm of a monster.

This intelligent and talented beast in question was an ape. Just like Apep, this beast was also born with exceptional level of intelligence. That was the reason why he had managed to actually learn the technique that Weiss had created for the beasts.

Currently the ape named Kong was helping Apep to maintain the peace of the forest. Even though Kong acted meek and cute before Weiss, it was actually a ferocious monster whose strength was greater than even Karl’s.

...

As Weiss stepped foot inside the forest, almost immediately she sensed that two powerful monsters were coming toward her. After some time, a small white snake came jumping at her and coiled herself around Weiss’s body and soon after that a 3 meter tall ape also appeared before her with a stupid but adorable smile on his face.

Weiss spent quite some time petting them and playing with them. She had found out that this activity had a positive effect on both her and the beasts’ mental condition and also helped her in learning more about the pets.

So after finding this out, Weiss had very frequently started to pet the beasts and had played with them quite often. This had also made the pets to be very happy.

They were also sad because Weiss would be gone for some time. So while playing with her, they were extra enthusiastic on this day. And even though her facial expression still did not change, Weiss did indulge the the two beasts a bit more than usual today.

...

Early the next day, the inhabitants of the Souran Castle bid goodbye to Weiss, Elise and Peria. Elise and Peria were also extremely beloved figures among the people working in the castle, so many of them were somewhat sad.

But even in this situation, all the maids bid farewell with smiles on their faces. Then on the back of the three horses, Weiss, Peria and Elise left the Souran territory. Their next destination was a city called Tohar that would take them about 15 hours to reach.
