Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

Karl and the team of scouts had really done a very good job of finding a truly safe route. There were only two monster beasts present in this route and one of them was even a single elephant like beast without any other animal followers.

So traversing this route turned out to be quite easy. With the official Knights leading the way, the expedition team did not suffer any more losses and managed to reach the mountain in just a few hours.

After reaching it, Count Falgur quickly asked his scouts to find a cave where they could hide. They were also ordered to map the whole area while they were scouting the mountain. Karl once again joined them for this task.

As for Weiss and the apprentice knights she was familiar with, they all stayed together and were acting very cautious.

If the count had truly mixed something in their food, then the effect of that should be revealed soon. So they were very cautious at this moment.

In this exact time, the overall leader of the high level Apprentice knights, the peak level commander Fontana gave everyone under him new orders. According that order, all the high level Apprentices except for a few needed to go to a specific location in a group of two.

There they needed to bury something that was tightly wrapped in a clothing and needed to keep an eye on the area.

This order immediately created outrage among the mercenaries. It was not just Weiss’s group who had teamed up here.

There were many more small teams like this who were feeling somewhat safer here while being with many other people with similar strength.

But now that they were told be separated, they all started to feel threatened.

They were currently in the exact location where the mighty Earth Overturning Great monster was supposed to live. So if someone was unlucky and encountered it, with a team of only two, they would not even be able to shout before getting devoured.

So with this fear in mind, almost 80 percent of the mercenaries started complaining. And even with his strength of a peak level Apprentice, Fontana was unable to stop them.

As this riot was getting out of hand, one of the official knight realm powerhouses, who was also a knight under Count Falgur, came to check what was happening here.

He was a young man who looked to be at most in his late twenties. So by reaching the realm of an official knight within his age, it we clear that his talent was not bad.

After hearing about the situation from Fontana, he hit him on the head as if the older knight was just a child to him. Then he berated him and said -

”Stupid old foggy. Hmph. You can’t even take care of something this minor properly. You should really retire now and enjoy your last few years with your family. Ohh, except for your daughter. Hahaha, because she would spend her days warming my bed.”

Saying this, this arrogant knight moved away from the silent Fontana and came before one of the mercenaries who was not following the orders.

Then without giving any warning, he used life force to boost his body and slash at the man with his sword.

With the speed of an official knight, even before the man could blink, one of his hands went flying. Feeling the terrible pain, the man shouted and fell down on the ground.

But as he was shouting, the feet of the arrogant knight came toward him and stopped his shouting mid way. Then the knight spit at him and said -

”Shut your mouth, dumbass. Don’t attract monsters here. You useless piece of shit.”

Saying this, he gave a threatening look to the other people present here and said -

”My lord is paying a lot of money to hire all of you useless monkeys. So at least do the job that you have been given. Follow our orders without any questions. Or next time, the thing flying will not just be a hand but someone’s head.”

Saying this the knight went back toward where the other knights were staying. On his way back, he hit Fontana again and spat on his body. He was quite a disgusting person.

But after seeing the condition of the man whose hand was cut, the other mercenaries lost all their energy. Even if they wanted to run away now, the official knights would most probably not allow that.

So with a heavy heart, the mercenaries took the cloth wrapped mysterious objects and went toward the location that they were given.

Weiss, Peria and Eve were also given unknown partners who were all men. All of them were some of the rare few mercenaries who were not going against the orders before. And they were also giving the ladies lecherous eyes for quite some time.

It looked like these mercenaries had a close connection with the knights working for the Falgur family. So they were given some kind of special treatment.

The ladies all looked at each other and left with their respective partners. Both of them had made some plans and were ready to run away at any moment.

The only reason they were still here was because things were still under their control. There was still a high possibility that they would be able to profit from this danger.

This greed could very well be the reason for their downfall but in order to reach the realm of an official knight, they were willing to take this risk.

...

As Weiss was going toward her designated location with the man who was assigned to her, he continued to try and have a conversation with Weiss.

Even when Weiss was not entertaining him at all and was only giving one word answers in an irritated voice, he was still relentless in his approch.

Very soon as Weiss was about to reach her location, he started to get way to eager and tried to casually grab Weiss’s butt and hug her. It looked like as his verbal attacks were not working at all, he was trying or use physical attack on her now.

But just as his hands were about to reach her, suddenly he found a sword running through his heart. He had not even seen how this had happened.

As Weiss took out the sword from his body, the man looked at her with a horrified expression on his face and tried to say something.

But Weiss had no interest in hearing the last words of a scum. So he was not given even that opportunity and Weiss slashed her sword and beheaded him.

After that Weiss quickly took his body away and threw it in a location that she had already found when coming here.

This place had clear signs of animal activity, so by night, this dead body of a scum would disappear inside the belly of a monster.

After being done with this, Weiss hid her presence and immediately went to find Karl. At the same time, she also started to open the cloth wrapped object to see what it was.

Both Count Falgur’s and Weiss’s plans were finally reaching the last stage.
