Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

After meeting up with the two ladies, Karl had already gotten out of the forest using a path that he had scouted beforehand and had judged to be relatively safe for a knight like him.

Following that path, they had managed to get out of the forest in a very short amount of time if compared to before. And as all the battles were handled by Karl and his overpowering strength, these battles lasted for a very short period of time.

After coming out the forest, Karl met up with Terry and loaded the items with him on the carriage. There were quite a lot of valuable things among the items so Karl was very cautious about handling them.

With four people working together, the task of loading the carriage did not take too much time. And after they were done, now they just needed to wait for Weiss to come back.

While waiting, Peria started to ask Karl some questions after getting his permission. As she would be starting a brand new life soon as Weiss’s subordinate, she wanted to know more about her workplace and about her mistress.

Karl was very open about the questions and answered whatever he could. Peria was an intelligent lady so she was aware of what she should ask and what she should not ask about. So she made sure to only ask Karl about things that he should have no trouble telling to others.

Eve and Terry also listen to this conversation very keenly as they would also be going to the same place as Peria. And when the discussion was over, all three of them had hopeful looks on their faces.

One of the main information that had attracted everyones attention was the existence of another official knight level powerhouse other than Karl and Weiss. This gave Weiss’s promise of turning the ladies into official knights more ground.

And any house with three Knights were definitely not the bottom tier and were very secured. So it looked like even though the ladies had made the decision in a very peculiar situation, this decision had turned out to be correct at the end of the day.

...

As all of them continued waiting, a decent amount of time passed. And after so much time had passed, everyone started to feel worried.

Normally Weiss should be out by now. But as she was still not here, Karl and the others could not help but think about the worst possible situations.

The two ladies and Terry had learned about how large and frightening the Earth Overturning Great monster was. And as they remembered this fact more and more, the fear in their heart grew.

Karl even started to get ready to go inside the forest once more to see what was the case. Even he was getting worried now. He did have a lot of trust in Weiss’s strength but at the same time, he had seen with his own eyes how frighteningly the Earth Overturning Great monster could be.

But fortunately before all of them went mad in anxiety, Weiss returned with three more men with her. They were carrying several bags and Weiss also had a super heavy looking bag with her.

Peria and Eve were familiar with these men. They were none other than Feberend and his friends. So it looked like they had also joined Weiss just like the two ladies.

Even though Weiss looked a little injured here and there, they were not serious injuries especially for a knight like her. So seeing this, everyone sighed in relief.

...

After that, the carriage started to move and Weiss finally managed to get some rest. They were not returning back to the city and were directly going to the Souran territory.

In this operation with the count, most of the knights who had went with him had died. And Karl was also one of them.

So now as he was technically a dead person, there was no way he could get back to the city. This way, his connection with the Night Crow organisation was also over.

After traveling for some time, the carriages reached a village. From here about 80 or so villagers joined the group. They all were the people who had accepted Weiss’s invitation to go to her territory.

Weiss had already prepared for this matter and even before she had left for the expedition to hunt the Earth Overturning Great monster, she had hidden a few carriages and horses in this village.

Now with five carriages with them, the journey had become much easier. So after taking away the villagers, Weiss and her group did not stop and continued the journey in full force.

...

In the Souran Territory, even without Weiss, everything was functioning without any trouble. Elise had done a very good job of taking care of everything in Weiss’s absence.

As she was also a from a noble family, this kind of responsibility was not unusual for her. That was the reason why she had managed to do such a good job when Weiss was away.

But still, without her mistress, Elise herself was feeling a bit lonely. That same was the case for the maids of the castle.

Now that it had been several weeks since Weiss had went away, all of them were really missing her and wanted her to return as soon as possible.

As Elise was taking care of some paperworks and was looking at some troublesome information that the hunters had brought back from the forest, suddenly Robin came to her office and gave her a very good news.

Karl had already returned as an advanced massenger and baroness Weiss would also be returning tomorrow. As soon as Elise heard this news, she became super happy and excited. Then she went to meet with Karl in order to ask him about if everything was fine or not during their travel.

...

The next day, Souran village became festive again as they welcomed about 80 or so new villagers. Now their small village was looking very full.

But the festive atmosphere of the village was nothing if compared to the festive atmosphere that the castle had. As Weiss had returned with a lot of loot, everyone was celebrating this incident by throwing a big party.

The main attraction of this party was the meat of a mighty Earth Overturning Great monster. One soup based like dish was made using this legendary meat.

But only the official knights were eating this meat. That was because if anyone weaker ate this, their body would not be able to handle it.

Other than Weiss, Karl and Elise, the only other people who would be eating a little bit of the meat were the two ladies Peria and Eve. Feberend and his friends were also getting a share. As they were high level knight apprentices, they were capable of handling it as long as the amount they ate was very low.

...

While the Souran territory was in a festive mood, the opposite was true for the Falgur territory. As quite a few days had passed, the news about the failure of the expedition army had already reached this territory. And even more importantly, the count had disappeared during this mission.

But it was not just the count, several more knights had also disappeared. So currently the strength of the Falgur family had hit rock bottom.

The duality in two sides was truly something astonishing.
