Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1745: Chapter 1062: Gathering the Ten Thousand Demons to Fight the Unpredictable Ghost Sect (Part 2)

These White Bone Pillars are the Array Hubs of the Evil Great Array, able to extract Evil Qi from underground and release it into the mountains and forests.

As the Evil Qi increases, the once-vital mountains and forests will transform into lands of Evil.

This is a way of altering the landscape, but here the landscape doesn’t refer to the surface form; it refers to the Spiritual Energy attributes.

The Unpredictable Ghost Sect intends to transform this Land of Spiritual Beauty into a land of Evil, not just a mountain or an area of dozens or hundreds of miles, but the entire Wanhua Mountain Range.

The cold winter wind howled, snowflakes fluttered throughout the heavens and the earth, making the whole world silent.

Except for the sounds of wind and falling snow, there were no other noises.

But just at this moment, a group of figures shrouded in black robes lifted and moved one bone after another to the mountain top.

They first inserted a large bone into the mountain rock, this bone was more than two meters long, and hard as steel, inserted into the rock as if into foam.

After inserting the first bone, they then inserted the second, the third.

One bone after another was inserted into the mountain rock, forming a ring about nine meters in diameter.

Subsequently, they moved a large quantity of bones into the circle, and within just two hours, the foundation of the White Bone Pillar was completed.

Hundreds and thousands of Ghost Soldiers and Blood Puppets moved bones back and forth in the snowstorm, like bricks, bones were stacked into the White Bone Pillars.

As the White Bone Pillars stood seven or eight meters tall, in the distant snowstorm suddenly came a rumbling sound, like an avalanche, like a quake.

Several Ghost Soldiers floated in mid-air, looking towards the direction of the sounds.

”Demon beast army, prepare to engage!” shouted a Ghost Soldier in a hoarse voice.

In an instant, tens of thousands of Ghost Soldiers and Blood Puppets set down their bones, pulled out various broken weapons, and charged at the oncoming demon beast army.

The Ghost Soldiers and Blood Puppets formed a black tide, while the demon beast army in the snowstorm was like a flood over the mountain and forest.

In just a few breaths of time, both sides collided amidst the swirling snow sky.

Evil Qi and Blood Evil Qi stained the snowy world like smoke, streams of light and spells flew everywhere, mixed with the sounds of roars amidst the booming and exploding.

However, this was just a common skirmish, at this time, similar encounters were occurring across the northern regions of the Wanhua Mountain Range.

The Demon Clan army had no fixed command, not even a command structure; Qingyuan Fox Venerable merely gave an order, and numerous Demon Clan members acted on their own, launching attacks independently.

The situation with the Unpredictable Ghost Sect was similar as well, despite the tens of thousands of Ghost Soldier Blood Puppets being led by the disciples and deacons of the Unpredictable Ghost Sect, they didn’t form a unified command, and could only fight independently.

For a moment, it seemed the entire northern Wanhua Mountain Range turned into a battlefield, with fights breaking out everywhere.

Once the battle started, the tremors spread across the wilderness.

The first to be affected was True Yang Immortal City, as most of the battles erupted to the east of True Yang Immortal City, with the nearest battlefield less than a thousand miles from the city.

True Yang Immortal City belongs to Wanhua Demon Court, and the Unpredictable Ghost Sect could launch an attack on True Yang Immortal City at any moment.

Inside True Yang Immortal City, within True Yang Hall.

Shui Ling sat in the main seat, below stood a burly man.

The man had a pair of round, fluffy ears atop his head, which looked very cute at a glance, but his physique and demeanor made him seem quite fierce.

This man was Bai Feng of the Red-headed White Tiger Clan, the actual manager of True Yang Immortal City.

And Shui Ling was the Demon King of Minghai Palace, her brother Shui Ji was slain by Yang Zhenshan.

The council of True Yang Immortal City had seven members, including Xiong Ba, Xiao Shan, and Xuan Ling of Wanhua Demon Court, along with Shui Ling of Minghai Palace, and White Cloud True Monarch and Que Lingyu of Sky Cloud Sword Sect, and Chi Hua True Monarch.

Xiong Ba, Xiao Shan, and Xuan Ling of Wanhua Demon Court took turns managing the affairs of True Yang Immortal City, the management also came from these three clans.

Although the others were on the council, they didn’t participate in city affairs, only in benefit distribution.

Thus, Shui Ling shouldn’t be here managing the affairs of True Yang Immortal City, but Wanhua Demon Court was at war with Unpredictable Ghost Sect, so Xiong Ba, Xiao Shan, and Xuan Ling had joined the war, and thus they invited Shui Ling to manage the affairs of True Yang Immortal City.

The problem now is that the war between Wanhua Demon Court and Unpredictable Ghost Sect might spill over to True Yang Immortal City, and Shui Ling feels stuck here, unable to leave or stay.

Leaving means she would lose the benefits brought by True Yang Immortal City.

Staying means fearing Unpredictable Ghost Sect truly attacking True Yang Immortal City.

”I want to know if Unpredictable Ghost Sect will attack True Yang Immortal City?” Shui Ling asked in a low voice.

Bai Feng scratched his head dumbly, ”Reporting to the Minghai King, I don’t know!”

”Then what do you know?” Shui Ling’s face looked displeased.

Bai Feng chuckled, ”Our King instructed to support the Minghai King in every matter!”

”...”

Shui Ling didn’t know what to say.

What do you mean by this?

Can’t you have your own thoughts?

Or, you could at least give me some advice, so I can have some ideas.

To be honest, Shui Ling was quite confused at the moment as well.

She didn’t know why she came to manage True Yang Immortal City.

Well, maybe it’s because Xiao Shan promised to give her more benefits.

She just didn’t foresee the situation turning out like this.

If she had known earlier, she definitely wouldn’t have come.

”Where are the other council members? Are they not worried about True Yang Immortal City?” Shui Ling felt she should find more help, otherwise with her small stature, she could not fend off Unpredictable Ghost Sect.

”Um, our King said that if True Yang Immortal City faces a crisis, you could seek aid from Sky Cloud Sword Sect.” Bai Feng said honestly.

”Sky Cloud Sword Sect, well, why not invite White Cloud True Monarch to come guard?” Shui Ling knew Sky Cloud Sword Sect quite well.

Minghai Palace lay within Beihai, just eight hundred miles from the coast and a bit over three thousand miles from White Cloud Immortal City.

Though Minghai Palace’s focus was mainly in the deep sea, seldom meddling with mainland matters, it had many connections with mainland neighbors.

Previously, Minghai Palace often sent people to White Cloud Immortal City to trade or procure goods, and now Minghai Palace was a regular guest at True Yang Immortal City.

So she was familiar with White Cloud True Monarch, even possessing some camaraderie.

Of course, that was when she didn’t know Yang Zhenshan killed Shui Ji, if she knew, she would surely see Sky Cloud Sword Sect as sworn enemies.

”Um, our King invited them, but all True Monarchs from Sky Cloud Sword Sect are in closed-door cultivation.” Bai Feng said.

Wanhua Demon Court was going to war with Unpredictable Ghost Sect, naturally, Xiao Shan, Xiong Ba, and Xuan Ling had to invite other people to guard True Yang Immortal City, their first targets were Sky Cloud Sword Sect, White Cloud True Monarch, and Que Lingyu, anyone would do.

But White Cloud True Monarch wasn’t foolish, he wouldn’t come to True Yang Immortal City at such a time, so he proposed an idea to Xiao Shan.

Indeed, inviting Shui Ling to guard True Yang Immortal City was White Cloud True Monarch’s idea.

Minghai Palace belonged to Beihai Demon Court, if Unpredictable Ghost Sect dared strike at Shui Ling, Wanhua Demon Court would have a reason to involve Beihai Demon Court in the fight against Unpredictable Ghost Sect together.

Thus, Xiao Shan went to Minghai Palace, promised some benefits from True Yang Immortal City, and invited Shui Ling over.

At this moment Shui Ling felt she had fallen for Xiao Shan’s trick, involved in this mess for just a bit of benefit.

But she couldn’t just leave now either.

If she leaves at this moment, she would no longer be able to get any benefit from True Yang Immortal City:

When True Yang Immortal City faces difficulty, she refuses to help, does she still expect benefits after the crisis is resolved?

”I understand now, you may leave!” Shui Ling said tiredly, gesturing dismissively.

”Yes, I will take my leave!” Bai Feng obediently withdrew from the hall.

Shui Ling sat on the large chair, brow tightly furrowed.

Will Unpredictable Ghost Sect come?

If they do, what should she do?

Should she request aid from the Demon Court? After all, she shared part of the benefits obtained from True Yang Immortal City with the Demon Court.

Of course, the Demon Court she thought of was Beihai Demon Court, not Wanhua Demon Court.

Unlike Wanhua Demon Court, Beihai Demon Court wielded immense control over the demon clans of Beihai, and its leader was from the Dragon Clan.

Shui Ling hesitated for a long time, ultimately abandoning the idea of seeking aid from Beihai Demon Court.

Because once she asks Beihai Demon Court for aid, all her benefits would have to be handed over to the Demon Court.

At this moment, she clung to the hope that Unpredictable Ghost Sect might not attack True Yang Immortal City.
