Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 997: Chapter 700: Wu Tuo’s Hatred (Part 2)

Due to the great distance, Zhou Lan naturally couldn’t command Chongshan Town at all times.

”That’s right, we shall proceed according to the original plan. As for Chongshan Town, let the Second Young Master handle it!” Yang Chengze said.

Lin Qinghe and Wu Yusheng exchanged glances and couldn’t help but ask, ”Who is the Second Young Master? Is it General Han?”

They knew the current General of Chongshan Town was Han Fei, but they also knew Han Fei was the eldest in his family, so he shouldn’t be the Second Young Master.

Yang Chengze smiled, ”No, you’ll understand eventually!”

Seeing their reluctance to explain, Lin Qinghe chose not to ask further.

He also understood that sometimes, it’s better not to inquire too much, knowing too much isn’t always a good thing.

Song Dashan thought for a moment, then said, ”Very well, we’ll follow our own plan, regardless of them!”

He always operated in a meticulous manner, in contrast to Yang Mingzhi, who liked to adapt and change according to circumstances, making it exceedingly difficult for him to predict Yang Mingzhi’s thoughts.

”We’ll first strike the Wanggu Tribe!” Song Dashan resolutely decided.

The Wuliang Royal Court consists of nine major tribes, with the strongest being the Wuliang Tribe known as the royal family, followed by the Chi Ci Tribe, Kerelie Tribe, Huiba Tribe, Wanggu Tribe, Tatar Tribe, and Alaman Tribe.

The weakest are Cui Liang’s Liang Wang Clan and the Wula Clan.

However, that was the old ranking. Now, the power of the Liang Wang Clan should have increased significantly. Let’s not forget Cui Liang also practices the Spirit Continuation Blood Refining Skill. If he teaches it extensively to his followers, the Liang Wang Clan’s power should have increased rapidly over the years.

Beiyuan Town is most conveniently positioned to attack the Wanggu Tribe, as it is located north of Beiyuan Town, with the nearest Wanggu tribal settlement just under 500 miles away.

On Song Dashan’s command, sixty thousand soldiers from Beiyuan Town and fifty thousand civilian workers began their march towards the Wanggu Tribe.

Meanwhile, Wu Tuo in the Wuliang military camp also received news of unusual movements in Chongshan Town and Beiyuan Town.

Wu Tuo, now over sixty years old with hair going grey, exuded even more vigor than before despite the age showing on him.

Calculating the time, Wu Tuo had been King Wuliang for over twenty years. Though for more than fifteen years, he was only King Wuliang in name, it couldn’t be denied he was a competent king.

From triumphantly leading an army of hundreds of thousands southward, to hastily retreating to Yemi City, an almost disastrous defeat didn’t utterly break him.

He stabilized the tribes within the Wuliang Tribe, even facing the fragmented tribal divisions he managed to reorganize the Wuliang Royal Court.

Now he desires a major victory, to restore his prestige and stabilize his royal court.

He eagerly seeks a major victory, so he chose to ally with Chen Hengchang.

Actually, he’s not clear on the situation of Chen Hengchang in Jiangnan, he only knows Da Rong is already extinct and the Yang family has established a new dynasty over Da Rong’s remains.

The Yang family!

Indeed, they are his enemies!

Against Yang Zhenshan, Wu Tuo harbored deep hatred.

If it weren’t for Yang Zhenshan destroying Yemi City, he wouldn’t have had to spend over a decade rebuilding the Wuliang Royal Court.

Thinking of Yang Zhenshan, he recalled the scenes he witnessed upon returning to Yemi City.

Yang Zhenshan was truly ruthless!

Not only did he kill his wife and children, but also took away all the wealth accumulated by his ancestors, even setting fire to his royal city.

Recalling the billowing flames, a fear rose within Wu Tuo’s heart.

He recalled the great fire at Guanshan Pass valley.

Victory and defeat are common in warfare, actually losing to Yang Zhenshan in Guanshan Pass valley didn’t incite much hatred within him; he merely wanted to defeat Yang Zhenshan to erase the humiliation Yang Zhenshan bestowed upon him.

However, Yang Zhenshan set fire to Yemi City again, making him wish to tear Yang Zhenshan to pieces.

”Yang Zhenshan didn’t come?”

In the large tent, Wu Tuo looked at Cui Liang with a somber expression.

Cui Liang shook his head, ”Probably not!”

Wu Tuo snorted coldly but didn’t say much.

Though he now wished to slaughter Yang Zhenshan, he understood Yang Zhenshan’s current status was different.

Another encounter with Yang Zhenshan seemed almost impossible unless he could reach the Capital City.

Wu Tuo turned to Tang Wuxi, asking, ”Are your preparations complete?”

Tang Wuxi was also old, even older than Wu Tuo, now almost eighty, yet as an Innate Martial Artist, he appeared much the same age as Wu Tuo.

”Rest assured, I’ve arranged everything and await the arrival of Chongshan Town’s army!”

As the saying goes, a fall into the pit, a gain in wisdom. Twenty years ago, they suffered greatly at the hands of Chongshan Town, naturally, they would be prepared against Chongshan Town now.

There was one thing Han Fei misunderstood; the Wula Clan hadn’t actually fled, it was a strategic retreat, relocating to the north of the Monghe Mountains to guard against another northern bypass by Chongshan Town into the Wuliang Royal Court’s heartland.

Moreover, Tang Wuxi fortifies the small path through the Monghe Mountains with checkpoints and forts to prevent Chongshan Town from passing through again.

Simultaneously, the Chi Ci Tribe and Tatar Tribe are ready to provide mutual support.

They’ve been planning for this grand battle for a long time, prepared thoroughly.

Three years ago, they began planning during Da Rong’s chaos, unexpectedly Chongshan Town swiftly stabilized the north, thus delaying their attack to further refine the plan, forming an alliance through Cui Liang’s arrangement with Chen Hengchang.

Now thoroughly prepared, awaiting Chen Hengchang’s move.

The proactive attack by Da’an New Dynasty disrupted their plans, yet they didn’t fear Da’an New Dynasty actively engaging, rather hoping they would.

They acknowledged Da’an New Dynasty’s issues: insufficient troops, resource scarcity, believing this was their best chance to battle Da’an New Dynasty.

Wu Tuo nodded in satisfaction, ”Good, as long as we can hold Chongshan Town back, we can attack Longbei Town without worries!”

”After capturing Longbei Town, we’ll head south, seize Longxi Town, and then divide Suzhou Town and Tingzhou Town!”

Perhaps fearing Chongshan Town too much, Wu Tuo decided against occupying Beiyuan Town, instead aiming for Longxi, Longbei, Suzhou, and Tingzhou Towns.

He didn’t plan to duel to the death with Da’an New Dynasty, he simply wanted to carve out a portion from them to elevate his prestige in the Wuliang Hu Clan, solidifying his control over various tribes.

”We can’t wait any longer, we need to launch an attack soon, also urge Chen Hengchang to act early.” Tang Wuxi glanced at Cui Liang, speaking gravely.

Wu Tuo nodded, since Da’an New Dynasty was already initiating the attack, they couldn’t remain idle for long and must act.

The cooperation willingness from Chen Hengchang wasn’t crucial.

Chen Hengchang’s existence inherently constrained Da’an New Dynasty, regardless if he simultaneously attacks, he aids them by tying down Da’an New Dynasty’s forces.

”Cui Liang!”

Wu Tuo turned to Cui Liang, Cui Liang promptly replied, ”Don’t worry, my King, I’ll immediately send someone to Jiangnan, urging Chen Hengchang to confront Da’an New Dynasty!”

Wu Tuo nodded in satisfaction, ”That’s good!”

He was quite pleased with Cui Liang’s performance, as Cui Liang was always obedient and was his most trusted subordinate.

Though unbeknownst to him, Cui Liang’s obedience was merely a facade, whether genuine or not, only Cui Liang knows.
