Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 616: Chapter 515: Teasing an Innocent Girl?_2

Just like steadiness, for the Crown Prince, it is undoubtedly a positive attribute in one’s character, but if applied in the manipulation of Jin Qi, being too steady is also a flaw.

Similarly, being too weak is a shortcoming of the Crown Prince, but in terms of Jin Qi, weakness is not necessarily a flaw.

It’s all about finding a balance.

Powerful and steady, soft but not feeble.

This should be more in line with the Crown Prince’s application of Jin Qi.

Yang Zhenshan patiently and skillfully guided the Crown Prince, who would occasionally practice some movements.

Not far away, Prince Dai swung his long spear, bringing about sounds akin to thunder.

Compared to the Crown Prince, Prince Dai had better Martial Arts talent and was also a Martial Arts fanatic, devoting all his thoughts to Martial Arts.

The Cultivation Technique he practiced was the Kui Niu Skill, and his application of Jin Qi was very similar to the former Yang Zhenshan.

It could be said that Prince Dai’s Martial Arts cultivation was the most similar to Yang Zhenshan, even more so than the three brothers Yang Mingcheng, Lin Zhan, and Wang Mingzhe.

As for An Chenhui, that was a completely different style. An Chenhui cultivated the Shanshui Power, drawing from the idea of ”the supreme good is like water.” His weapon of choice, however, was a pair of straight swords with ring pommels, slightly curved tips, and a length of four feet.

These swords were clearly extremely sharp weapons, but An Chenhui cultivated the Shanshui Power.

It seemed mismatched, but in fact, the contradiction was An Chenhui’s characteristic. Because contradiction represents change, implying both offense and defense, emphasizing adaptability.

In reality, An Chenhui’s cultivation was more similar to An Yuxing. Although Yang Zhenshan had been instructing him these three years, his foundation had been laid by An Yuxing, and Yang Zhenshan did not alter his foundation but instead enhanced and complemented it.

It’s still the same saying, there is no most powerful Cultivation Technique, only the one most suited to oneself.

In two hours, Yang Zhenshan had guided each of the three once.

As evening approached, the three disciples took their leave one after the other, and the younger members of the Yang family also returned one by one.

Now Yang Chengye, Yang Chengmao, Wang Mingzhe, Jiang Ning, and Yang Chengxian were all training in the Guard Camp outside the city. Although Yang Chengye had already undergone three to four years of training, Yang Zhenshan still did not let him stop.

Of course, they did not train at the Guard Camp every day, but rather trained for three days and rested for three days. On their days off, they would not actually rest but learn other things, such as military tactics and reading for Yang Chengye and Yang Chengmao, while Wang Mingzhe went to learn Medical Skill and Alchemy from Sun Wanzhen.

After all, Yang Zhenshan had a clear plan for them, so don’t even think about slacking off.

As for the girls of the Yang family, they could also not idle away their time; cultivating in Martial Arts was the foundation, and they could learn whatever else they wished.

There is still a school within the Marquis Mansion, not only for the Yang family’s children but also for many others from the household servants’ families to learn.

While Yang Zhenshan was returning to the main courtyard to prepare for dinner, Lu Shou hurried over to the main courtyard.

”Marquis, a memorial sent from the palace.” Lu Shou handed a folded document to Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan was slightly startled, ”Who sent this?”

”The man claimed to be the eunuch Li Shangxi from the imperial court. He was in a rush to report back, so I gave him a hundred taels of Silver!” Lu Shou said.

Yang Zhenshan nodded and took the memorial to open it.

He was curious as to why the memorial was delivered to him, but since it was sent, he decided to take a look.

When Yang Zhenshan finished reading the content of the memorial, his face showed an ugly expression, and he understood why Emperor Yanping had someone deliver this memorial.

It was an accusation against him, an issue that had not appeared in a long time in court memorials since he demonstrated his Innate Cultivation. It seemed that no one had accused him ever since.

The matter accused him of poor family discipline and corrupt family morals, alleging that a member of Marquis Jing’an’s household publicly harassed an ordinary young girl.

The accusation was issued by Zhou Ningwei, the City Patrol Imperial Censor from the west of the Capital City, and the harassed young girl was Zhou Ningwei’s ten-year-old daughter.

According to Zhou Ningwei, his daughter was visiting a friend when she was embraced by a half-grown rascal, and this ruffian came out of a bookstore, identified by the servants as someone from Marquis Jing’an’s household.

Harassing an ordinary young girl in broad daylight!

Could this really have happened in Marquis Jing’an’s household?

Yang Zhenshan found it hard to believe, but he had to.

After all, it involved the reputation of a daughter; unless Zhou Ningwei was out of his mind, he would not fabricate such a story.

”Go and call Chengye, Chengmao, Chengxian, Chengyou, as well as Jiang Ning, Mingzhe, and Ming Zhao.”

After a moment of thought, Yang Zhenshan ordered.

The teenagers from the Yang family are only about this many.

”Yes!” Lu Shou responded and went to call for them.

After about a quarter of an hour, all seven of them arrived at the main courtyard.

Among them, Chengye was the eldest at twenty-one years old, while Ming Zhao was the youngest at only eleven.

Among the teenagers, Chengxian, Chengyou, Jiang Ning, and Ming Zhao were the most appropriate. The others seemed a bit too old!

Yang Zhenshan looked at the boys lined up and asked, ”Who among you harassed a young lady from a good family yesterday?”

The boys were first startled, then looked confused, as if they did not understand what it meant to harass a woman from a reputable family. But soon after, their faces showed curiosity as they all turned their heads to look at Chengyou.

Yang Chengyou instantly broke into a sweat. ”Why are you looking at me? It wasn’t me, I didn’t do it!”

Among the children of the Yang family, Chengyou is definitely the most mischievous.

Ever since he was little, he was the most rambunctious.

Yang Zhenshan even had some doubts about Chengyou. He felt that this youngster had the potential to become a dissolute scion.

However, although Chengyou was somewhat unruly, he was not of bad nature and did not turn out crooked.

As for the others, Chengye, Chengmao, Chengxian, Jiang Ning, and Mingzhe, they should have gone out of town to train at the Guard Camp yesterday, leaving only Chengyou and Ming Zhao behind.

Both of them are only eleven years old this year and are not martial artists yet, so there is no need for them to go to the Guard Camp for training.

”Where did you go yesterday?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

Yang Chengyou said a bit nervously, ”Grandpa, I... I didn’t go out yesterday.”

”Really didn’t go out?”

”Really didn’t go out. Yesterday morning I was practicing with my uncle, and in the afternoon I was reading in school. I didn’t leave the house all evening!” Yang Chengyou explained.

Ming Zhao spoke up, ”Dad, Chengyou isn’t lying, we were together all the time!”

Yang Zhenshan nodded, not suspecting they were lying.

Chengyou might lie, but Ming Zhao wouldn’t.

This boy always considered himself a young uncle and held considerable authority among his nephews, so he would surely not cover for Chengyou.

Yang Zhenshan looked again at Chengye and the others. Chengye said, ”Grandpa, we were all together and nobody acted alone!”

If they were going to the Guard Camp outside the city for training, they would all ride out and back together, and they had been there both yesterday and today.

Yang Zhenshan thought about it and felt that the Yang family’s children would not do something as egregious as harassing young girls in the street.

Other than these few, all other boys in the family were under ten years old.

He picked up the official document again and looked at it, then said, ”You all go back first!”

”Oh!”

Upon hearing this, the group of boys left.

”You guys are too much, why did you all suspect me?” Yang Chengyou said aggrievedly.

”Because you’re the one who’s always messing around on regular days, who else are we supposed to suspect if not you!” Yang Chengxian chuckled, and the others smiled in agreement.

Hearing this, Yang Chengyou pouted, ”It’s a good thing my little uncle testified for me, otherwise I would have been falsely accused today!”

”Haha~~ you’ve done too much mischief, that’s what you deserve!”

The boys left the main courtyard jokingly.

Yang Zhenshan took the official document to his study and replied in the document: ”This official has inquired and found that it was not done by anyone from my family.”

It was only a trivial matter, and Yang Zhenshan did not take it to heart. He had someone return the document the next day and put the matter out of his mind.

However, unexpectedly, the Prefect of Shuntian Prefecture came to their door on the third day.

The incident was not a big deal; there were countless profligate youths in the Capital City, and it was not unheard of for women to be harassed in the streets. Usually, such cases were settled by paying some silver.

But this time, the harassed girl happened to be the daughter of Zhou Ningwei, the City Patrol Imperial Censor of the Capital City, who was responsible for policing officials. Since his own daughter was the victim, Zhou Ningwei certainly could not let the matter rest.
