Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 605: Chapter 511 Elixir Refinement

After returning to the capital from Cui Xia Valley, Yang Zhenshan resumed his previous life.

Every few days he would visit the Martial Arts Pavilion, leave some Spiritual Spring Water there, and also provide some guidance to the disciples of the Martial Arts Pavilion.

The subjects of the Martial Arts Pavilion are divided into Martial Arts, Training, Military Strategy, Weaponry, and Medicine; among them, Martial Arts and Training are compulsory subjects that each disciple must participate in, while Military Strategy, Weaponry, and Medicine are electives.

Today, Yang Zhenshan came to the Martial Arts Pavilion. First, he went to see the still-under-construction site of the Martial Arts Pavilion. The Ministry of Industry was moving quickly, but the new site for the Martial Arts Pavilion could only be inhabited by next year at the earliest. This year the Martial Arts Pavilion could only stay in that simple village.

After checking the progress of the Ministry of Industry, and urging the officials a bit, Yang Zhenshan then went to the temporary residence of the Martial Arts Pavilion.

At this moment, in the training grounds of the Martial Arts Pavilion, three hundred disciples were undergoing military training under the guidance of instructors.

Even though these three hundred disciples were all Postnatal Martial Artists, their training still started from the very basic formation drills.

The Martial Arts instructors and training officers of the Martial Arts Pavilion all came from the border army. However, their training methods were largely the same, as nowadays the military training methods of the Da Rong border army almost all stemmed from ”Military Training Records”.

Indeed, it was the ”Military Training Records” written by Yang Zhenshan ten years ago that had now become the outline for military training in the Da Rong border garrisons.

Of course, compared to the military training methods of Yang Zhenshan, they were still somewhat inferior.

Although ”Military Training Records” were written by Yang Zhenshan, it was the version from ten years ago. At that time, Yang Zhenshan mainly referred to some previous life’s military training experiences, coupled with some of his own ideas.

But now, after leading troops for over ten years and training hundreds of thousands of elite soldiers, Yang Zhenshan has gained much understanding of both training and utilizing troops.

Thus, he had made some revisions and adaptations to the previously written ”Military Training Records”.

Especially in this kind of training method tailored for Martial Artists, his experience was even more extensive.

Formation drills are the foundation of military training, crucial for enhancing the collaborative combat capabilities of soldiers, bolstering trust and communication among them, and serving as an important method to enforce military discipline.

It can be said that formation drills are the essential path for ordinary people to transition into soldiers.

This is also why Yang Zhenshan always insists that military training must begin with formation drills.

Upon arriving at the training ground, Yang Zhenshan looked at the three hundred disciples standing neatly in the field and nodded with satisfaction.

In about a month, these three hundred disciples had already completed their basic training, and it was time to proceed with practical combat training.

Seeing Yang Zhenshan enter the training ground, several instructors supervising the training hurriedly ran over to pay their respects: ”Greetings, Lord Wu Zheng!”

Yang Zhenshan slightly nodded, ”Carry on with your duties, don’t mind me!”

”Yes!”

The instructors responded and no longer followed Yang Zhenshan, accustomed to his casual demeanor.

Meanwhile, Yang Zhenshan strolled among the queues, his gaze sweeping across each disciple.

Most of these disciples came from noble and official families, with a minority from civilian Martial Arts Families and Jianghu Sects, all of them could be considered exceptionally talented talents.

However, they also had many flaws. The children of nobles and officials were accustomed to luxury, while those from Martial Arts Families and Jianghu Sects often carried an unruly streak.

Yet these flaws weren’t really an issue. Once they arrived at the Martial Arts Pavilion, any temper must be controlled, and any flaws must be corrected.

Martial Arts Pavilion is not the Imperial College, in the eyes of Yang Zhenshan, the Martial Arts Pavilion is a military institution, and a military academy is also a military institution, all disciplines are to be managed according to military standards.

Over this month, it wasn’t without troublemakers, but under Yang Zhenshan’s command, their outcomes were predictable.

Not directly executing them was because Yang Zhenshan valued talent.

After inspecting the Martial Arts Pavilion, seeing that there was nothing else that needed attention, Yang Zhenshan then headed back home.

Upon returning to the Marquis Mansion, Yang Zhenshan secluded himself in his study room, researching the elixir recipes of True Essence Pill and Jade Bone Ice Heart Pill.

He had already planted the Star Origin Fruit in the Spiritual Spring Space, and both pieces of fruit had been planted.

Although he now had no Star Origin Fruit in hand, it did not hinder him from studying the elixir recipe of True Essence Pill.

In fact, the art of Alchemy isn’t as magical as imagined.

The art of Alchemy requires an understanding of pharmacology, the elixir recipe must follow the principle of sovereign, minister, assistant, and messenger. Alchemy doesn’t need an Alchemy Furnace or Heavenly Fire, Earth Fire, Samadhi Fire, instead, it utilizes the method of decoction, boiling the ingredients into a paste, then rolling them into pills.

Yes, the so-called art of Alchemy is just making pills.

What matters is the pharmacology, not other miscellaneous things.

Of course, this does not mean that making elixir pills is easy. In fact, the process of making elixir pills is very meticulous, and medicinal proportions and decoction processes need to be handled with precision and care.

Making elixir pills is a process that requires patience.

Yang Zhenshan had not made elixir pills before, but he was quite proficient in pharmacology, having spent years studying it.

Two elixir recipes, but now he lacked the main ingredients, so he couldn’t make them.

However, that wasn’t a problem. If these two elixir recipes couldn’t be made, then he could opt for a more common elixir recipe to practice with.

Bone Strengthening Pill, which dispels rheumatism, nourishes yin and yang, and strengthens sinews and bones, is useful for Martial Artists in the Body Refining Realm and Postnatal Realm, aiding in stretching muscles and bones and enhancing physical constitution.
