Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 490: Chapter 451: If we want to establish a foothold in Liaodong, we must first eliminate Yang Zhenshan!

”The ledger is real, then that means this confession is fake!

No, not entirely fake, it should be half true and half false.

Ning Dongsheng is in their hands, there should be Ning Dongsheng’s confession above, but it should also include crimes they have fabricated.

The part about raising grain prices should be true, as for inciting the populace to rebel!

An Ruhui figured it out in an instant.

This is quite normal, inciting the populace to rebel, coercing the court to allocate money and grain for disaster relief!

This is definitely not something ordinary people could pull off.

Although Zhao Yunxing is greedy, he is not so monstrously insane yet.

That’s right, inciting the populace to rebel was added by Yang Zhenshan.

To be precise, Yang Zhenshan merely gave an example, according to his orders that was to escalate the issue, and Ding Qiu loyally executed his orders.

Without any hesitation, he added this item, and even had Ning Dongsheng put his handprint on it.

As for whether Ning Dongsheng will recant later, that’s a matter for the future.

”Ning Dongsheng has disappeared, are you sure this won’t cause trouble?” An Ruhui said with some worry.

”So please, Lord An, quickly write a memorial and send it to the Capital City!” Ding Qiu smiled.

At this moment, how could An Ruhui not know what Ding Qiu was plotting.

This was using him as a sword!

But could he refuse?

He wasn’t afraid of Yang Zhenshan, Yang Zhenshan was formidable, but he was not without his own backing.

He looked again at the ledgers inside the wooden box.

Putting aside everything else, these ledgers alone can prove that the officials with Zhao Yunxing at the helm are a group of corrupt officials.

”I understand, I will submit the memorial as soon as possible!” An Ruhui said solemnly.

”This humble servant can help Lord deliver the memorial to the Capital City!” Ding Qiu said.

An Ruhui looked up at him, ”Good!”

He didn’t refuse, even though he knew Ding Qiu was guarding against him backing out, but he had no reason to refuse.

Because he won’t back down, and also because this matter involves too much, and he doesn’t have enough reliable hands around him.

Since Ding Qiu was willing to send someone on the errand, he naturally would be more than happy to relax.

Without much hesitation, An Ruhui immediately entered the study and wrote a memorial.

In just about an hour, he finished writing the memorial.

”Be careful on the road!”

He handed over the memorial and all the evidence to Ding Qiu.

”Rest assured, my lord!” Ding Qiu said.

...

Zhao Mansion.

Zhao Yunxing paced back and forth in the hall like an ant on a hot pan.

These past few days, he received a lot of bad news, black-clad masked Martial Artists infiltrated the homes of various major merchants and took away their ledgers, Deputy Inspector Ning Dongsheng disappeared, and the Hengdao Sect in Jizhou suddenly made a move against the Luo Family, and so on.

Each piece of news gathered in Zhao Yunxing’s hands gave him a feeling of impending disaster.

If it were just one or two families, he might not care, but now it was more than a dozen, and these dozen merchants all had more or less connections with him.

”Who on earth could it be?”

”Secret Martial Guards? Impossible, the methods of the Secret Martial Guards can’t be so crude.”

He speculated in his mind about the force behind these actions.

He negated the Secret Martial Guards first.

Because the way the Secret Martial Guards operate is always covert; they couldn’t possibly expose so many traces and flaws.

As for whether there was surveillance by Secret Martial Guards around him, he of course knew there definitely was.

It was precisely because he knew that he had taken precautions early.

In fact, in the hearts of the court officials, the existence of the Secret Martial Guards is almost public knowledge; everyone knows the Secret Martial Guards will arrange Hidden Guards around themselves, although few know in what capacity these Hidden Guards lurk near them, but just knowing that the Secret Martial Guards exist, they have ways to avoid them.

Therefore, he was not afraid of the Secret Martial Guards, but he was afraid of others.

”Besides the Secret Martial Guards, who else could have such capability?”

”So many Martial Artists, each one a Postnatal expert~~”

Zhao Yunxing’s steps halted, his narrow eyes suddenly narrowed.

”Marquis Jing’an!”

His guess had some basis.

Because in the entire Liaodong, only Yang Zhenshan, this Marquis Jing’an, would have so many Postnatal experts around him.

Given that they could be called Postnatal experts, they naturally weren’t just Postnatal First or Second Layer Martial Artists.

The soldiers of the Personal Guard Camp nowadays have cultivation mostly at Postnatal Fifth Layer or above; let alone the whole Liaodong, even the entire Da Rong, few individuals or forces could mobilize so many Postnatal Fifth Layer or higher Martial Artists in such a short time.

Thinking of Ning Dongsheng’s disappearance, Zhao Yunxing became even more certain that Yang Zhenshan was behind this.

”What to do?”

Zhao Yunxing hesitated whether to send someone to find out about Yang Zhenshan’s situation.

At this moment, one of his Personal Followers, Liu San, hurriedly ran into the hall, ”Master, I’ve found Mr. Yan!”

”Where is he?” Zhao Yunxing asked eagerly.

Liu San said somewhat nervously: ”He said he can’t help with this matter, that it’s all up to the master himself!”

”Damn!” Zhao Yunxing cursed.

The Mr. Yan they were talking about was Yan Huichun from the Zhen family of Dongyang, and this time their joint manoeuvre against Yang Zhenshan, planning to raise the grain prices in the opportunity, was orchestrated by Yan Huichun.

Zhao Yunxing was persuaded by Yan Huichun under the huge temptation of profit.

If not for Yan Huichun’s persuasion, Zhao Yunxing wouldn’t have directed Ning Dongsheng to submit a memorial impeaching Yang Zhenshan, let alone have the courage to raise grain prices under the guise of a drought.

But now the matter was exposed, and Yan Huichun was utterly indifferent to him, how could he not be furious?

”Master, Mr. Yan also said that if you want to survive, you can only, only--” Liu San stuttered.

”Only what?”
