Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

’Riding someone else’s Spirit Fire Raft is an option, but it’s much better to have my own...’

Having reached this conclusion, Faraway didn’t hesitate to use his remaining Wax Oil to buy a Spirit Fire Raft for himself.

”Let’s go. The stuff at the port can wait. We need to finish this specific quest first.”

Faraway called out to Li Miao.

They could explore the coastal waters anytime, but their special quest was on a timer, so they had to put it off for now.

Li Miao nodded. After helping the newly resurrected Niuniu pick up his dropped loot, he followed Faraway, and they went off to continue farming Poisonous Mist Birds.

Soon, the two experts left together.

Mushroom went off to kill monsters and save up Wax Oil, while Niuniu also left for the time being after failing to exploit a bug.

That just left Guagua.

Guagua looked conflicted.

She didn’t have much Wax Oil left, only 52 points. If she bought a Spirit Fire Raft, she’d only have two points left, but she really wanted to pilot one and explore.

After hesitating for a long time, Guagua gritted her teeth and bought the Spirit Fire Raft.

Then, she carefully stepped onto it, touched the Rootless Fire on the raft, and began maneuvering it slowly into the distance.

”The sea is so beautiful...”

Guagua sat on the raft, sighing in admiration as she gazed at the azure sea before her.

Of course, it would have been even better if the horizon wasn’t an endless stretch of gloomy black.

After admiring the beautiful seascape for a while, Guagua had already traveled a fair distance. Looking back, she could see that Candle Island had shrunk to a small dot on the horizon.

Suddenly, a few strange fish leaped out of the sea, startling her. But she didn’t panic, calmly dealing with them and killing two.

These strange fish clearly weren’t very strong, not even as tough as the Fish People on Candle Island.

’No more monsters?’

’Looks like the coastal waters are pretty empty, with monsters spread far apart?’

Guagua wondered.

’Oh, whatever. I’ll just fish for a while.’

Without thinking too much about it, she took out her fishing rod and started fishing.

...

On Candle Island, a Long-winged Poison Mist Bird the size of an eagle was impaled and fell limply to the ground.

[You have killed a Long-winged Poison Mist Bird.]

[Obtained: Wax Oil x8]

[Obtained: Long-winged Poison Feather x1]

[Obtained: Poison Feather Hat x1]

After Faraway and Li Miao picked up the loot, they let out a slight sigh of relief.

”We finally finished this quest.”

For the past three days, they had been grinding Poisonous Mist Birds almost as soon as they logged on. They had killed over thirty Leader Level Long-winged Poison Mist Birds and countless ordinary ones just to meet the quest requirements.

Thankfully, the drop rate for the Long-winged Poison Feathers wasn’t too low. Otherwise, they probably would have had to kill many more to finish the quest.

At this point, just the sight of a Poisonous Mist Bird made Li Miao feel a little sick.

Faraway was now also wearing Fishman Scale Armor, with a dark green Poison Feather Hat on his head.

The two of them now looked a bit like tribal natives from some remote region...

”Let’s go turn in the quest.”

Faraway didn’t want to keep farming these Poisonous Mist Birds either. The rewards weren’t great, they weren’t fast to kill, and it was less efficient than farming Sand Worms.

Soon, the pair arrived at the Spirit Candle and called for the Candlekeeper.

A smile appeared on Luo Ge’s face as he looked at the two before him.

These two were practically his most capable agents now. The majority of his Wax Oil commission from the players came from them.

The reason he had sent them to farm Poisonous Mist Birds instead of other monsters was that the birds dropped slightly more Wax Oil, which naturally meant a bigger cut for him.

Of course, in terms of drops from a single monster, the Near-Sea Ghosts were number one. But even Luo Ge himself had a hard time dealing with those things, let alone the players who still lacked an effective means of attack...

”You’ve done very well.”

”This is your reward for clearing out the Poisonous Mist Birds.”

Luo Ge nodded slightly and handed them two weapons.

[Quest Complete!]

[Reward for Requirement One has been distributed.]

[Obtained: Candlefire Scimitar x1]

[Obtained: Rapid Short Bow x1]

[Rapid Short Bow (Fine)]

[Type: Weapon]

[Explanation: A well-crafted Short Bow suitable for rapid attacks. Grants +1 Agility when attacking. (Note: This weapon requires Arrows.)]

Luo Ge hadn’t been stingy with their rewards.

The Rapid Short Bow he gave to Faraway was one he had crafted recently, and it should be a perfect fit for him.

Of course, in addition to that, they had also completed the second requirement Luo Ge had given them, handing over the Long-winged Poison Feathers when they turned in the quest.

”I can process these Long-winged Poison Feathers and craft them into accessories or Arrows.”

”Which would you like?”

Upon hearing this, Li Miao and Faraway discussed it for a moment before giving their answer.

One portion for Arrows, one for an accessory.

Luo Ge nodded slightly and put away the Long-winged Poison Feathers. Crafting with raw materials wouldn’t consume too much Wax Oil.

”Processing the Long-winged Poison Feathers will take some time.”

”For now, you can use Wax Oil to purchase items from my collection. If you need anything, just touch the Spirit Candle.”

”Keep up the good work, you two Warriors.”

With that, Luo Ge vanished.

Li Miao stroked the scimitar in his hand, unable to put it down. ”A Fine Level weapon, and it even has Attributes! This grind was totally worth it...”

Faraway, on the other hand, immediately touched the Spirit Candle to check the Candlekeeper’s collection.

He breathed a small sigh of relief when he saw that Arrows were for sale.

His Rapid Short Bow required Arrows to be used, so he used his remaining Wax Oil to buy a quiver of them.

”So what’s next? We go explore the coastal waters?” Li Miao asked, carefully putting away his Candlefire Scimitar and looking at Faraway.

Both of them had now reached Level 10, which was the current cap, so they couldn’t level up any further for the time being.

That meant exploring the coastal waters was the only thing left to do.

”I’m going to practice my archery first,” Faraway said, shaking his head.

Thanks to the game’s realism, you couldn’t just pick up a bow and arrow and be a perfect marksman; it required practice.

However, it was worth noting that from his observations, the players’ learning Ability and Talent seemed to be influenced by their Candle Spirit Body.

In other words, with the buff from the Candle Spirit Body, even someone who was clumsy or untalented in real life wouldn’t take ages to learn how to use a bow.

As long as they practiced and got real combat experience, they could learn fighting techniques quickly.

It was as if they were natural-born Warriors.

The only thing that could really affect their performance was their own mindset.

”Alright, I’ll wait for you then.”

Li Miao had no intention of blindly exploring the coastal waters by himself; he decided to wait for Faraway to finish his practice.

He had complete confidence in Faraway’s talent for learning.

Besides, his hands were itching to try out his new weapon in the meantime!

’I’ll go kill a couple of Fish People to test it out.’

Naturally, Li Miao set his sights on the Fish People on the shore as his test subjects.
