Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1617: Buddha’s Wrath

’Ice, I don’t think we have much of a choice left,’ Primal Arcane Flame said through divine sense. He was a handsome middle-aged man, dressed in red, tattered clothes, with red hair and hazy silver eyes. Blood dripped from his face and body as he blocked each of the Battle Ape Chief’s punches.

’We knew this day could come ever since we hatched out of that egg. We’ve just been prolonging the inevitable,’ Primal Mystic Ice replied. Unlike her counterpart, she was young and beautiful, with an angular face and luscious, ocean-blue hair that matched her loose hanfu. Her gilded eyes formed a great contrast with Arcane’s silver. Stars continued to explode around Mystic Ice, but the two continued their conversation as if this was the last time they would be speaking.

’Is it really wrong to want to exist? Why is fate so unfair to us?’

’No plan in complaining. We tried everything, but some things are just destined,’ Mystic Ice said. ’Anyway, we’ve had plenty of time — we should be happy about this.’

’I wish I could accept things as calmly as you,’ Arcane Flame sighed. ’I just feel so unwilling.’

’Alright, no more stalling. We cannot wait any longer,’ Mystic Ice also sighed. There was an enormous hole in the cave’s formation, allowing the demon race to enter. Unfortunately, the demons have always been slightly stronger, so after losing the home advantage of the array, they started suffering great casualties. It also did not help that many loose cultivators used this opportunity to cause chaos and plunder.

After steeling their nerves, the two Primals suddenly released a visible red and blue aura, which then transformed into black and white. However, just as they were about to do something, a terrifying aura spread to every corner of the world, followed by a magnificent change in the sky.

Ten Thousand Buddha Haven, Secret Room:

Maitreya suddenly opened her eyes, releasing an intense burst of the power of destiny. ”Our enemy is the Land of Exile? This complicates things. Huh?” She raised her head and, with one thought, everything that occurred during her divination flashed in her mind. A burst of golden light flashed from her body, shaking the entire room. Luckily, she set up the array herself.

”I’ve had enough,” Maitreya muttered. A terrifying aura spread to every corner of the Eternal Ascension World, followed by a colossal Golden Buddha manifesting above Heaven and Earth. The pressure instantly forced anyone who was not a Primal or Primal-adjacent to kneel or press on the floor.

”Since you want to act like children, I will treat you as such.” Her voice spread to every ear in the world. With a thought, all the world’s primals — except Buddhism — Lin Fan, Kong, and Wang Wei appeared above the Golden Buddha’s palm. The Buddha’s eyes then shifted to Qin. ”Will you come yourself, or do I have to fetch you myself?”

Ying Zheng did not utter a word, but a magic circle that resembled a butterfly materialized in the sky; to ensure the power was more condensed, the array only protected the Ancestral Dragon Domain. The Golden Buddha calmly raised her hand and slapped the array. Ying Zheng, the Human and Heavenly Emperor, should be proud that his array lasted an entire second before crumbling, and he was forced to be teleported to the golden palm just like everybody else.

Maitreya calmly looked at everybody in her palm. No matter who it was, they felt tiny when those golden eyes silently pierced into their souls. The quiet was not helping. ”I tried to be nice and played politics with you, but since that did not resonate, I’ll use a language you can all understand: power.

”Let’s start with you. First, I will strip you of your Heavenly Emperor Position.”

As soon as she uttered these words, a light flew from Ying Zheng’s eyes and flew into the sky before fusing with Heaven and Earth. Ying Zheng remained calm, but no one knows whether this was his true emotions or if he was just controlling himself really well. Regardless, some people increased their evaluation of him.

”Secondly, from now on, Qin will be the vanguard for this war.” The Buddha’s hand reached out and rearranged the world’s territory and placed Qin’s border right next to the gate that Wu Hong discovered — the gate through which the invasion is most likely to occur. Before, the dimension where the gate was located was on the border of the Grand Sect Alliance and Union’s territory, but Maitreya essentially moved things to ensure Qin was right next to it.

”If you or any other Qin cultivator dares abandon their post and run away, you will suffer judgment.” A golden chain immediately embedded itself deep into Qin’s white Qi Luck Dragon. The Buddha continued staring at Ying Zheng, but this time, she was looking at the Jade Butterfly. After thinking about it briefly, she did not say anything and just sent him back. Maitreya then shifted his attention to Dugu Baitian.

”Really? Killing your own people to maintain power? I knew you were ambitious, but at least, I thought you had a bottom line.”

Dugu Baitian did not utter a word. Words were meaningless now.

”I’m branding you with a Mark of Sin. It will only dissipate after you’ve paid your dues in the war.” The characters for [Sinner] appeared on Dugu Baitian’s forehead, making him clench his fist. When has he ever faced such a humiliating experience? However, he did not dare object. The ultimate truth of the cultivation world is that power is everything.

Things were not finished for the Grand Chancellor. A golden light entered his forehead despite his attempt at resisting before taking out the red embryo attached to his soul. Maitreya observed it for a while before putting it away. ”While I’ve dealt with the main culprit, this thing has already infected your [Existence]. Do as you want with that information.”

Maitreya turned to the Heavenly Serpent Empress. ”You’ll also serve on the frontline with Qin.”

”But mighty Saint, I was just a mercenary. I only accepted a contract.”

”You have free will and can say no,” Maitreya rebutted, immediately silencing the cheeky Serpent Empress. Her focus was now on the demon and Innate Demon Gods, especially the Battle Ape Chief.

”What? Dissatisfied that I didn’t let you further weaken our world before the biggest catastrophe the Chaos Universe has ever seen?”

”I don’t dare,” Battle Ape Chief replied, his voice calm and composed.

”So you are dissatisfied, just not daring enough to reveal it,” Maitreya sneered. ”Fine. The animosity between you two is too deep, and forcing you to stop is more harmful than helpful. So, I’ll give you an opportunity. Whoever makes the most contribution in the first 1 million Yuan Epoch can eliminate the other. You can even ask me to do it for you.”

Battle Ape and Myriad Star looked at each other. At this point, eliminating the Demon God Cave has almost become their Heart Demons. They cannot focus on their transcendent path without eliminating these pests. The Saint’s words were an opportunity for them.

Mystic Ice and Arcane Flame felt the same way. While things were looking bleak for them — especially after such an intense loss — a million yuan epoch was a long time, and they still had an opportunity to recuperate and become the final victor.

”In fact, I’m starting a contribution list for factions and individuals,” Maitreya continued. ”The individual list will also be divided into people from a lineage and loose cultivators. The top three will receive a free flawed transcendent method, and the top 10 will receive a free sermon.” Three golden lists materialized above the sky before disappearing. However, everyone could now access them with a thought.

Maitreya’s words resonated with the Heavenly Dao as she initiated a minor vision of purple clouds rising from the east, followed by distributing a small amount of merit. Although it wasn’t much, it showed Heavenly Dao’s sincerity and favor.

”Do you think I would forget about you?” Maitreya sneered. She raised her hand to condense a golden grid that covered the entire world. ”From now on, you cannot make any major decision without consulting me.”

Heavenly Dao’s Eye immediately manifested between Heaven and Earth. Every cultivator felt this intense emotion of rage before the eye suddenly started raining truly destructive lightning, trying to remove the golden grid.

”Stop wasting world source,” Maitreya said. ”You’re lucky I didn’t seal your consciousness.” If not for the fact that Grand Dao is already watching the development of the Central Destiny World, she would have acted much more extreme after that stunt Heavenly Dao pulled.

Maitreya ignored the eye. It should calm down after realizing it was pointless to fight. Her focus shifted to the Dao Opening Sect. She observed Yan Hai for a moment: ”It’s good to push yourself, but there should be a limit.” With a thought, she siphoned some World Source from the world and turned it into green water full of vitality before injecting it into Yan Hai’s.

In a matter of seconds, Yan Hai’s mummified body returned to normal, and she slowly woke up. Qiyuan rushed over to help and explain the situation.

”It’s your turn,” Maitreya said to Wu Hong before sighing deeply. ”Do you have any idea how much of your potential you would have wasted if I didn’t wake up on time?”
