Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1606: Ji Lishuan

Ji Clan Mansion:

An elderly man dressed in simple black clothes stared at a chessboard. He looked ordinary, not only in his physical appearance, but with no aura that could give anyone an indication of his personality, Dao, or ambition. The world around this ordinary man was an ocean of blue: from the grass, the trees, the clouds, the mountains, and even the life forms — everything was blue and incredibly peaceful.

Elder Ji Lishuan suddenly felt something and stopped staring at the chessboard. He slowly waved his hand, and Strong Arm slowly materialized in front of him, atom by atom, spirit particle by spirit particle. The latter immediately bowed: ”Ancestor!”

”Show me.”

Strong Arm, whose real name was Ji Lengshi, removed a strange aura from his body, which condensed into an orb. The object flew into Ji Lishuan’s hands, and with a thought, it began to display the fight between Dugu Baitian and Yan Hai.

”This version still cannot assimilate the cultivator’s intelligence and wisdom?” Ji Lishuan talked to himself as he observed. The beast’s strength was between the Immortal and Saint Stage, but it retained the ability to evolve by absorbing more emotions.

’Even if it grew all 12 wings, its strength would still be twice weaker than a one-pillar Saint,’ Ji Lishuan frowned. ’What’s more, this thing has lost the Abomination’s ability to instill fear and madness through emotions.’ He sighed deeply. Ji Lishuan started this project for the same reason all Saints in the clan did: to find a way to break from the limitation of their bloodline and enter the realm of Tribunal Saint. Unfortunately, so far, only a few of these things have bloomed, and the result has been subpar.

’Could I achieve my goal by using quantity over quality for the fusion?’ Different emotions fueled the Sentiment Parasites, so Ji Lishuan hoped that by finding the right host and cultivating them to a high enough level, he could then transform them into the purest form of emotion energy to surpass the limit of his bloodline.

However, his project failed because they could not cultivate a proper Primordial Saint — even the weakest one. Ji Lishuan calculated whether there was a chance of success if he used numerous Primals instead, but he soon shook his head. He would need too many Primals, and even then, the emotional energy he would create would not be nearly enough to elevate him to a higher level; it would just be icing on the cake.

’The good news is this project finally has some use,’ Ji Lishuan thought. The Sentiment Parasite could be modified into a Soldier Training Program for the clan. As long as they find some decent Boundless Paragons that fit the respective emotion of the parasite, they could create an army of mighty armor that can easily conquer any world without a Saint. More importantly, Ji Lishuan can finally receive some reward for this long project.

”Lengshi, you did well,” Ji Lushuan praised. He was not just saying these words. This project has existed for a long time, and since its inception, only 36 people have found the right target that eventually led to its blooming. Above all, rage was one of the emotions with the least amount of data, and his success has completed Ji Lushuan’s first round of experiment.

”I only wish for the clan’s prosperity,” Ji Lengshi immediately said.

”For your reward, you have two choices: The Blond Pond or the Soul Glyph.”

”The Blond Pond,” Ji Lengshi immediately answered with no hesitation. He chose to work for Ancestor Lishuan in this long and arduous mission because of his low talent, which can only be remedied by purifying his bloodline in the Blood Pond.

”Alright,” Ji Lishuan nodded. This was the wrong choice in his mind, but he did not persuade the latter. For clan members with such low talent, the bloodline path was the best approach. So. A token flew from his hand into Ji Lengshi, who held it tighter than if he were embracing the love of his life.

Ji Lengshi disappeared, leaving the ancestor to his thoughts. The next stage of the research can officially begin, and Ji Lishuan has been planning for a while. His idea is to create a parasite with all six emotions and seven desires, and implant it on a talented cultivator in the womb. The Sentiment Parasite can then absorb whatever emotions are needed to grow throughout the cultivator’s life.

Ji Lishuan did not immediately start working on the project. He first sent out a mission to choose the guardian of this new test subject before teleporting to a secret location of the clan. It was time for him to receive his reward for this project.

Eternal Ascension World, Grand Sect Alliance, Primall Hall:

As soon as Dugu Baitian appeared on the throne, the tension in the room intensified. The hall was quiet for a good twenty seconds before Glass Pen Sage spoke: ”Aren’t you going to give us an explanation?”

”No!”

”And why is that?”

”Because it’s none of your business?”

”The leader of our alliance can turn into a rampaging monster at a moment’s notice, and you dare say it’s not our business?” Glass Pen sneered.

”So what do you want?” Dugu Baitian asked calmly while gazing into his eyes. ”Do you want me to abdicate my post? Do you understand the fate that will befall all of you if the alliance falls apart? You will lose control of the Literary Way. Beast King will be hunted down by the sacred mountain and the cave for using the blood of their race, and you, Gentle Soil, will be locked inside a dimension to cultivate rare herbs for the rest of your life.”

”And what will happen to you without us?” Glass Pen retorted. ”How many people have you offended? How many want to tear you apart? Well, you might be able to survive with your ’unparalleled strength,’ but what about the Saint? Will she have any issue eradicating you if killing you has no repercussions on the entire alliance?”

”Exactly,” Dugu Baitian said. ”We need each other to survive, so instead of questioning me, why don’t we focus on how to deal with the current emergency?”

Beast King raised his hand to stop Glass Pen. ”Our goal is the same, but we also need some guarantee that you are not an unpredictable variable.”

Dugu Baitian exhaled as a deep rage and killing intent flashed deep in his eyes. If he had the strength, why would he need to suffer this humiliation? He could have just suppressed these people and forced them to obey.

’After I conquered my father, I swore to conquer the world to prevent anyone from ever taking something from me, from making me feel as weak and insignificant as him, to truly control my fate, but I have a long way to go.’

”I have everything under control — I give you my word. Most importantly, the exchange list has the means to fix the issue permanently. It will be dealt with as soon as I have enough merit.”

”Since the chancellor has given his words, I think we should trust him,” Gentle Soil calmly said, shifting all eyes to her. Despite being the weakest, her role has always been the most important. Sword Earth God is always on Dugu Baitian’s side, and Glass Pen and Beast King usually ally to balance these two.

Therefore, the final vote usually comes down to Gentle Soil. The unfortunate thing is that eight out of ten times, she votes in Dugu Baitisn’s favor. And this time around, she also made her choice.

”Fine,” Glass Pen said, relaxing his brow. The balance of power has forever shifted, meaning there will be plenty of opportunity to weaken control from Dugu Baitian. ”What do we do now?”

”The goal remained the same: eradicate the Emperor Enlightening Academy.”

”Shouldn’t we focus on how to retrieve Earth Sword God?” Gentle Soil asked.

”For now, there is no feasible way for that to happen,” Dugu Baitian replied.

”What if they kill him?” Beast King asked.

”They know that sending him to Limbo is pointless, and I have access to his ChronoSpirit to help him fight. He’ll be fine for a while.” The others squinted. How close must they be for a Primal to hand over access to their Chrono Spirit? Even Dao Companions who have been married for trillions of yuan epochs might not be this close.

”You said that Ying Zheng would distract Buddhism to prevent them from rescuing Kong. Did it deliver on his promise?” Glass Pen asked.

Dugu Baitian’s eyes flashed red after hearing that name. Today, he had lost so much, all because he agreed to work with that bastard, Ying Zheng. It’s almost as if the moment he made their deal, Dugu Baitian’s luck immediately started to decline.

’Let’s see how things turn out for you. Otherwise, I’ll be the one dealing with you,’ Dugu Baitian thought.

”Let’s see if he kept his words.” A shadow suddenly condensed in the middle of the five thrones and bowed respectfully.

”Report!” Dugu Baitian said.
