Divine Level Witch Doctor

Soon, the morning’s classes were over.

Zhao Yuan had spent the entire morning using the Concentration Technique to memorize the dance moves and musical score for ”Cloud Flying Immortal.”

To do so, he had even secretly lit some Soul-Stabilizing Incense.

The other students and the teacher in the classroom all benefited. Aided by the Soul-Stabilizing Incense, everyone was full of energy, as if divinely assisted. The teacher’s lecture flowed with incredible eloquence, and they were in peak form; the students listened with rapt attention, easily grasping many difficult concepts and points of confusion.

After his last class of the morning, Medical Ancient Texts, ended, Zhao Yuan had just barely managed to rote-memorize the dance moves for ”Cloud Flying Immortal.” Upon leaving the classroom, he didn’t return to his dorm. Instead, he asked Liu Zhu and the others to take his textbooks back for him, while he headed straight for Lin Xue’s dormitory building.

’When you’re asking for a favor, you should be proactive about it.’

Once downstairs, Zhao Yuan sent a message to Lin Xue, telling her he was waiting. He quickly received a reply of just three words: ”Coming down now.”

In her dorm room, Lin Xue put down her phone, pulled a pretty outfit from her closet, and changed into it. She then checked her reflection in the mirror again and again.

Her actions immediately drew the attention of her roommates.

”Xuexue, why are you changing clothes in the middle of the day? Don’t tell me you’re going on a date?”

Yang Zi came up from behind, wrapped an arm around Lin Xue’s waist, and her mischievous hand started to sneak toward Lin Xue’s collar.

”Who’s the date with? Let me guess. Looking at that lovesick expression on your face, it must be Zhao Yuan, right?”

”You perv, get your paws off me,” Lin Xue scolded with a laugh, stopping Yang Zi from feeling her up. ”What date? Don’t be ridiculous. Zhao Yuan just needs my help with something.” She then relayed to Yang Zi what Zhao Yuan had told her on the phone that morning.

”Wow, one playing the music while the other dances? Sounds like a classic romance between a scholar and a beauty,” Qi Xia and Luo Dan chimed in, crowding around to tease her.

Lin Xue’s pretty face immediately flushed red.

After a bit more teasing, she finally escaped her roommates, slipped out the door, and hurried downstairs.

The moment she stepped out of the dorm building, she saw Zhao Yuan, and a sweet smile involuntarily graced her lips.

Zhao Yuan saw her at the same moment and smiled, walking forward to greet her. But before they could reach each other, an unexpected guest suddenly darted out from the side and planted himself in front of Lin Xue.

He was a tall, handsome young man dressed head-to-toe in designer brands—the spitting image of the ”tall, handsome, and rich” guy every girl dreams of. He held a bouquet of vibrant roses and said to Lin Xue with a wide smile, ”Lin, I was wondering if I might have the honor of joining you for lunch?”

Lin Xue’s brow furrowed. Before she could even answer, several nearby girls were already squealing, their eyes practically turning into hearts.

”It’s Ye Feng! Ye Feng from the clinical medicine department!”

”It’s really him! The clinical medicine department’s number one heartthrob! AHHH, he’s so handsome!”

”Not only is he handsome, he’s also rich! He’s basically the perfect man! No, a god!”

The man standing before Lin Xue was Ye Feng, a third-year student in the clinical medicine department. He had also been crowned the department’s number one heartthrob for three years running.

He was not just handsome, but also wealthy, making him famous not only at West Hua Medical University but throughout the entire University City. He had a reputation for going through girlfriends quickly, but that didn’t stop him from being a heartthrob to a certain segment of the female population. In the eyes of his most mindless fans, it even made him seem dashing and free-spirited.

This time, Ye Feng had set his sights on Lin Xue and had been coming to hit on her for several days in a row.

”Sorry, I already have plans for lunch.” Lin Xue rejected his invitation without hesitation and tried to walk around him.

But Ye Feng blocked her with his arm, grinning. ”Plans? Who with? Lin, that’s a pretty lame excuse, isn’t it?”

Just then, Zhao Yuan walked up and clapped Ye Feng on the shoulder. ”Sorry, she has plans with me. If you’ll excuse us.”

Ye Feng froze for a second, and Lin Xue seized the opportunity to slip past him and join Zhao Yuan.

”Hey, beautiful, how about you grace me with your company for lunch?” Zhao Yuan said, playfully mimicking Ye Feng’s earlier tone.

”Okay,” Lin Xue replied with a sweet smile, and started walking with Zhao Yuan off campus.

As they walked, Zhao Yuan asked, ”Who was that guy? One of your admirers?”

Lin Xue huffed, ”Ye Feng, from the clinical medicine department. Don’t even get me started. I don’t know what bad luck I’ve run into lately, but that playboy has latched onto me. He comes to hit on me every single day. It’s so annoying.”

At this, she looked Zhao Yuan up and down, then suddenly smiled and asked, ”Hey, were you jealous?”

”What? Jealous? No way! Why would I be jealous?” Zhao Yuan quickly denied.

”Really not jealous? Hmm, then why is your face red?” Lin Xue teased with a smile.

Zhao Yuan subconsciously touched his face—it really was a little hot. He quickly tried to explain, ”It’s the sun! It’s so bright, I’m just flushed from the heat. Don’t get the wrong idea.”

”Haha, you’re so cute when you’re flustered.” Lin Xue bent over, laughing.

The sight of her laughing was exceptionally sweet, and it made Zhao Yuan’s heart pound. His face felt even hotter, and he hurriedly changed the subject. ”Alright, alright, stop laughing, let’s get going. After we eat, I’ll go over the dance moves with you.”

”What dance moves? Is it something you just found online? I have a high school friend at the dance academy. We could ask her teacher to help choreograph something for us. It would definitely be better than a dance pulled off the internet. After all, who knows how many people will be doing popular dances from online at the New Year’s Gala. It would be so embarrassing if we did the same one as someone else.”

Lin Xue’s attention was successfully diverted, and she began to seriously brainstorm.

”Don’t worry, this dance definitely wasn’t pulled from the internet. It’s... uh... I choreographed it myself.”

The origin of the ”Cloud Flying Immortal” dance was too bizarre to explain, so Zhao Yuan had no choice but to shamelessly take the credit.

”You choreographed it? Really? You know how to choreograph dances?” Lin Xue’s jaw dropped, and her surprised expression was adorably dorky.

”But of course. I’m a genius, you know,” Zhao Yuan joked.

”Show-off!” Lin Xue wrinkled her nose and huffed. ”Fine, we’ll see what kind of dance you’ve choreographed later... Oh, wait, I just remembered! I heard from Liu Zhu and the others that you’re always doing square dancing in your dorm room. The dance you made... it isn’t square dancing, is it?”

”That’s right, it’s square dancing. What, having second thoughts? Too late!” Zhao Yuan said with a laugh.

Lin Xue laughed too. ”Don’t worry, I never go back on a promise. Even if it really is square dancing, I’m committed.”

The two of them walked off, talking and laughing, leaving Ye Feng standing there holding his bouquet of roses, completely ignored.
