Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao was surprised; demons and Taoism had always been in conflict!

It looked like the Yin and Yang Realm was not as peaceful as he had imagined, with open conflicts and hidden struggles being the norm.

Chu Hao inquired, ”Is that all? Why did you choose Tai Ding Taoist Temple?”

The Yellow Weasel had spilled everything, simply begging Chu Hao to spare its life. It promised that if Chu Hao let it go, it would tell the Demon Wolf King that Chu Hao was too much to handle.

”The ancestral land of the Tai Ding Taoist Temple also conceals a huge secret, about the whereabouts of Laozi, the leader of Taoism. This is a secret we demons want to know.”

Laozi had left thousands of years ago, and these demons wanted to know where he went? This was simply too bizarre.

Chu Hao said, ”You’re looking for Laozi?”

”Yes.”

”Why?”

”Laozi once departed, taking the Demon Emperor Scripture with him.”

Chu Hao was stunned; just hearing about the Demon Emperor Scripture suggested it was a matter of great significance, and it was with Laozi.

Chu Hao asked, ”Have you found it?”

”No... no.”

Chu Hao snorted coldly, shaking the Soul Locking Bead vigorously. The Yellow Weasel screamed miserably, rattled to its core.

Chu Hao said, ”You won’t cry until you see the coffin, is that really the case? Have you truly not found it?”

”It’s true, we haven’t!” the Yellow Weasel cried, having been shaken until it vomited.

Chu Hao sorted through the information he had obtained: the demons were looking for Laozi’s whereabouts, and the Demon Emperor Scripture he carried was very important to them.

If I got the Demon Emperor Scripture, I wonder how many Pretentiousness Points I could exchange for it?

”Any news about the Demon Emperor Scripture?”

”No.”

Chu Hao took out a lighter, lit it under the Soul Locking Bead, and the fire immediately scorched the bead. The Yellow Weasel inside screamed in unbearable pain.

”Where is the Demon Emperor Scripture?”

The Yellow Weasel grew frightened and said in agony, ”There’s only a vague record that after Laozi left seclusion, he headed west. Please stop burning me; I’ve told you all I know.”

Only then did Chu Hao relent, putting away the Soul Locking Bead and leaving the Tai Ding Ancestral Land.

Back in the Taoist Temple, Qiu Yun’er, Liang Qian, and Zhong Minyue had been waiting for a long time. Finally, seeing Chu Hao, Yun’er excitedly threw herself into Chu Hao’s arms, saying, ”Brother Chu Hao, are you okay?”

Chu Hao stroked the girl’s long hair and smiled, ”What could happen to me?”

At that moment, an Old Daoist Priest walked over, bowed to Chu Hao, and said, ”Benefactor, thank you.”

The Taoist priests of Mount Taiding were devoted to their cultivation. The emergence of a traitor like Min Ran undoubtedly weighed heavily on their hearts. They also felt guilty for having troubled Chu Hao previously.

Chu Hao inquired, ”Has Taoist Min Ran been captured?”

This Old Daoist Priest replied, ”He has escaped, but Brother Wu Jian and other martial brothers are in pursuit. He won’t be able to run for long.”

Chu Hao was annoyed. So many people chasing one person, and yet he had escaped. Taoist Min Ran now hated him the most, and his escape was not good for Chu Hao.

Chu Hao declared, ”Yun’er, let’s leave the mountain.”

Qiu Yun’er looked towards her master.

The Old Daoist Priest quickly said, ”Benefactor, Qiu Yun is the Daoist Saintess; she cannot leave.”

Chu Hao’s expression darkened. He, of course, would not agree to Yun’er being the Daoist Saintess. Given these old men’s previous attitude, could Yun’er have a good life?

Chu Hao said coldly, ”So you want to keep her captive! I certainly won’t agree to that.”

The Old Daoist Priest also felt helpless. Knowing Chu Hao’s strength, he said, ”It is the Temple Master’s wish. Benefactor, you are not of our Taoist order, please do not make this difficult.”

Chu Hao said earnestly, ”Then I must take her with me. Whoever wants to stop me, let them try.”

The Old Daoist Priest felt helpless and quickly looked at Zhong Minyue, who was Qiu Yun’er’s master.

Zhong Minyue sighed and said, ”Yun’er, you decide for yourself. Your master respects your choice.”

Qiu Yun’er was in a difficult position; on one side was her master, and on the other was Brother Chu Hao. She didn’t know what to say.

Zhong Minyue added, ”Follow your heart. Although cultivating the Tao is important for us cultivators, our disposition is most important.”

Qiu Yun’er hastily said, ”I... I want to go with Brother Chu Hao.”

Zhong Minyue nodded and said, ”Alright.”

Then, she turned to the Old Daoist Priest and respectfully said, ”Martial Uncle, I feel Yun’er is still young. Let her go down the mountain to temper herself a bit more. Please don’t make it difficult for her.”

The Old Daoist Priest frowned. Zhong Minyue was a member of Taoism, and she too knew the importance of the matter. He didn’t understand why she acted this way.

”It is hard for me to decide,” the Old Daoist Priest said.

Zhong Minyue suggested, ”How about this: when the Temple Master returns, I will personally bring Yun’er back up the mountain.”

The Old Daoist Priest rolled his eyes. The Temple Master hadn’t returned for thirty years. When would he return?

Suddenly, a young Taoist priest ran in and said, ”Martial Granduncle, Martial Granduncle, we’ve received a letter from the Temple Master!”

The Old Daoist Priest was surprised. Upon opening the slip of paper handed over by the young Taoist, he read for a while, then nodded and said, ”The Temple Master said that there is no rush for Qiu Yun to become the Saintess. He will decide when he returns.”

Chu Hao asked, ”What about Min Ran then? What do you plan to do with him once he’s caught?”

Min Ran had bullied Yun’er, and Chu Hao certainly wouldn’t let him off.

The Old Daoist Priest replied, ”Taoist Min Ran betrayed us, and the Temple Master already knows. He said we must capture him and bring him back to Mount Taiding for punishment. Benefactor Chu, you can be assured on this point; our Taoist ways are strict, and we will definitely make this a top priority.”

Chu Hao was somewhat surprised. This Temple Master of Mount Taiding seems incredibly capable. How did he know what happened here?

Without resting on Mount Taiding, Chu Hao and his companions left.

In the end, Zhong Minyue did not come down the mountain. She said her farewells to everyone.

Qiu Yun’er cried, ”Master, come down the mountain with me.”

Qiu Yun’er had a poor impression of Mount Taiding and was worried that her master would suffer there.

Zhong Minyue shook her head and, with a soft smile, said, ”Our lineage has now returned home, so to speak. Even though you won’t be staying in the Taoist Temple, I, your master, need to pave the way for you, awaiting your return.”

Qiu Yun’er was overwhelmed with emotion and cried heavily. She even decided she would stay on Mount Taiding to be with her master.

However, Zhong Minyue said, ”This time you go down the mountain, I, your master, have one important task for you. Listen carefully.”

Saying this, she whispered in Yun’er’s ear.

Qiu Yun’er nodded earnestly and said, ”Master, I definitely won’t disappoint you.”

Zhong Minyue’s eyes brimmed with tears, and she tenderly ruffled Yun’er’s hair. She looked at Chu Hao, bowed deeply, and said, ”Benefactor Chu, I must trouble you to take care of Yun’er. Our promise has not changed.”

Chu Hao touched his nose. He, of course, knew what the promise was. Zhong Minyue had asked him to take care of Yun’er when she left, saying that if necessary, Yun’er should follow him for life, and he should marry her and bring her home.

Truth be told, even without that promise, Chu Hao would take care of Yun’er, treating her like a little sister.

However, when Zhong Minyue mentioned the promise, a great weight in Chu Hao’s heart finally lifted.

COUGH. COUGH. It’s not that Brother Hao is shameless, mind you; they were the ones who made the promise.

Qiu Yun’er asked, ”What promise?”

Chu Hao laughed heartily and said, ”Nothing important. Let’s go.”

The three of them descended the mountain.

On the way, Chu Hao asked, ”Yun’er, what did your master ask you to do?”

Qiu Yun’er had no secrets from Chu Hao and said, ”My master gave me this.”
