Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao said, ”Wait a minute. If he doesn’t hire you, I will.”

The bodyguard turned his head, eyes brightening. ”Are you serious?”

Chu Hao replied coolly, ”20,000 a month. Is that an acceptable hiring fee?”

Both men gasped. An employment fee of 20,000 a month! Although they knew skilled bodyguards earned high salaries, they had never expected to earn that much after only half a year in the business. Naturally, they were very excited and said, ”Okay!”

Chu Hao shook his head. ”Let’s get one thing straight. This 20,000 isn’t just for showing up. Do the job I ask, and you won’t miss out on the benefits.”

The other bodyguard patted his chest, assuring him, ”No problem, Boss. We brothers know credibility is essential in this business; we can’t survive without it. Our previous boss was just too stingy; we’d been putting up with him for a long time.”

”Besides,” he continued, ”when we arrived earlier, we’d already decided to rescue the person and then leave. Kidnapping is something we wouldn’t do, even if it cost us our lives.”

It was true. Upon learning Boss Zhang was involved in kidnapping, they had already agreed to quit after rescuing the person.

Chu Hao was amused. These twin bodyguards were quite interesting. He said, ”Judging by your accent, you seem to be locals?”

The bodyguard nodded. ”We’re from Xiaoxi Village in Jiulong Town. We’ve been back from the army for six months.”

Chu Hao was taken aback. ”I’m also from Jiulong Town. How come I’ve never seen you before?”

Hearing Chu Hao was also from Jiulong Town, the two bodyguards grew excited. ”We joined the army at sixteen and served for ten years. We were discharged for causing trouble, so it’s normal that someone as young as you wouldn’t know us, Boss.”

Chu Hao nodded and smiled. ”Since you’re fellow townsmen, I won’t say much more. First, beat him up for me.”

He gestured towards Boss Zhang.

Boss Zhang trembled in fear. ”Wait… I’ll give you money, lots of money! Just let me go!”

The twin bodyguards stepped forward, cracking their knuckles. The elder brother sneered, ”What kind of people do you take us for? Offering money when you need us and treating us like dogs when you don’t? Beat him up!”

The elder brother charged, delivering a perfect flying kick to Boss Zhang’s face, who let out a scream like a stuck pig.

”Dad!” Ma Qingyu ran to Ma Bozhen’s side, clearly overjoyed to be rescued.

”My girl, it’s all right now. Dad’s here,” Ma Bozhen said, equally happy.

Chu Hao looked at Xiu Lan. ”In this life, this Taoist Master detests this kind of trash the most. Since you were forced to kill, I can help you.”

Xiu Lan knelt, her face now restored to its original delicate beauty, like that of a pure young maiden. She cried, ”Please, Taoist Master, help me! Xiu Lan doesn’t want to kill anymore!”

Chu Hao nodded and walked towards Brother Shen. Though his physique was decent, Brother Shen’s head was still woozy after being sent flying by that powerful slap.

”What do you want?” Brother Shen cried out in fear.

Chu Hao kicked him. Brother Shen screamed as he was hurled through the air, smashing into the factory wall, which sent dust billowing. He coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Chu Hao hauled him up. ”Tell me, where is Xiu Lan’s family?”

In pain and terror, Brother Shen stammered, ”I… I don’t know.”

”Still trying to be tough, huh?” Chu Hao sneered.

He threw Brother Shen again like a sack. The man slammed into the wall, landed in a heap, and was knocked out cold.

”Xiu Lan, what are you doing?”

While Chu Hao dealt with Brother Shen, another thug tried to escape but Xiu Lan blocked him.

Before Chu Hao could even react, he saw the twin bodyguards rush forward.

The man sneered. He was no ordinary person; Chu Hao had been an anomaly. Against regular people, what did he have to fear?

”OUCH!”

However, after a brief exchange, the man screamed as the twin brothers, with their remarkably swift and precise moves, took him down and pinned him to the ground in seconds.

Chu Hao was surprised. These twins are quite skilled. They claimed they served in the army for ten years and were discharged for misconduct. There are many types of soldiers, and a regular soldier is a world apart from a Soldier King.

”Boss, how should we deal with him?” asked the younger twin.

Chu Hao walked over and stomped on the man’s face, distorting it. It felt as though the man’s facial bones were about to shatter. ”Why don’t you try running now?” Chu Hao said.

”I won’t run! I won’t run!”

Chu Hao asked coldly, ”Where is Xiu Lan’s family?”

In agony, the man replied, ”They... they’re with the Gui Yin Sect. Their souls are trapped deep within.”

Xiu Lan said, ”Heavenly Master, the Gui Yin Sect cultivates ghosts like me. Many of us are forced to kill. They often target people with unique destinies, orchestrate their deaths, ruin their families, and then transform them into Fierce Ghosts to serve as tools.”

Hearing this, Chu Hao seethed with rage. These evil sects truly deserve to die!

Xiu Lan added, ”As far as I know, the Gui Yin Sect has slaughtered over 3,000 people just to cultivate a single powerful Fierce Ghost.”

Slaughter over 3,000 people?

This time, not only Chu Hao but also the twin brothers turned pale. Ma Bozhen and Ma Qingyu, who also heard, were utterly horrified.

As ordinary people, they had never heard of such atrocities—killing over 3,000 individuals just to cultivate ghosts.

Hearing the System’s notifications, Chu Hao’s heart stirred. Finally! An S-rank mission! To exterminate the Gui Yin Sect? This is exactly what I want!

Xiu Lan was incredibly excited. Kneeling, she pleaded, ”Heavenly Master, you must help us! I beg you!”

Ma Qingyu couldn’t hold back any longer, her face flushing with anger. ”Such vile deeds still lurk in our society today! I’ll write an article right now and expose the Gui Yin Sect!” As it turned out, Ma Qingyu was a reporter.

Ma Bozhen quickly said, ”Daughter, you don’t need to get involved in these things. The authorities will handle it, won’t they?”

He was truly terrified, especially after this ordeal, that his daughter might encounter another calamity.

Ma Qingyu shook her head. ”Dad! When faced with such things, I can’t just ignore them. Don’t say any more.”

With that, she looked towards Chu Hao, wondering if this young Taoist Master would help Xiu Lan.

Chu Hao stood with his hands clasped behind his back, a sharp glint in his eyes. He cut an immensely imposing figure as he stated coolly, ”Heaven entrusts great responsibility to those capable of bearing it. If even I, this Taoist Master, do not take action, then who will? It is time for the Gui Yin Sect to pay their debts.”
