Ghost Catching System

This time, the Yellow Weasel completely transformed from a demon into a Ghost Demon.

Chu Hao walked over, picked up the Yellow Weasel’s corpse, and grinned, ”Tonight’s roast is sorted.”

In the burial ground, the Yellow Weasel went completely mad, roaring, ”I’m going to kill you, kill you! AAAHHH...”

After waiting for a while and not seeing the Yellow Weasel emerge, Chu Hao gathered some firewood.

Seeing this, the Yellow Weasel’s Ghost Demon soul was utterly infuriated. Without its physical body, it no longer had any chance to turn the tables. It almost exploded with rage, especially when it saw Chu Hao skin it, wash it in the clear stream behind the mountain’s lower slope, and then put it on the fire to roast.

Chu Hao knew the Yellow Weasel was secretly watching and was also trying to pinpoint its location. The Yellow Weasel was very cunning. If not thoroughly killed, it would very likely return to cause trouble, perhaps even targeting his loved ones.

The Yellow Weasel was enraged.

Chu Hao grilled the meat for a while. The Yellow Weasel’s meat was very fragrant. True to it being a demon with cultivation, after roasting for some time, the meat glistened with golden oils, and a tempting aroma pervaded the ancestral lands.

Chu Hao exclaimed in admiration, ”Yellow Weasel, your meat is really fragrant when grilled, isn’t it? Do you have any brothers or sisters you could introduce? I’d like to take more with me when I leave the mountain.”

Hearing Chu Hao’s words, the Yellow Weasel felt like it was about to die from fury. It silently vowed in its heart to make Chu Hao suffer a terrible death.

Chu Hao kept observing, but it still wouldn’t show itself.

Finally, the roast was a success. This was the most primitive way of grilling, without any seasoning. Chu Hao tore off a large piece of meat. It was delicious beyond measure, tender and succulent.

Chu Hao took a bite, and his eyes suddenly brightened. The taste was incredibly delicious. The texture of the meat and the golden juices flowing down with each bite felt almost heavenly.

Only then did Chu Hao realize that demons were so delicious. It looked like he was in for some enjoyment in the future.

Chu Hao said, ”So tasty! Yellow Weasel, won’t you come out and have a bite?”

In the shadows, the Yellow Weasel was close to going mad. Seeing its own flesh being eaten by someone else brought on feelings of rage and deep fear. It realized that humans were the most terrifying beings of all.

DING... Task completed. Acquired 6,000,000 Experience Points.

DING... Task completed. Acquired 80,000 Merit Points.

DING... Task completed. Acquired a Green Diamond Treasure Chest.

Chu Hao was completely satisfied. Having good food to eat and having completed the task was sheer bliss.

Then, Chu Hao felt a warm sensation in his abdomen, as if a stream of energy was circulating. He was filled with surprise.

”What’s going on here!”

This stream of energy made Chu Hao quite uncomfortable, so he circulated his True Qi in an attempt to neutralize it. Unexpectedly, when his True Qi contacted the stream of energy, it devoured it completely. At that moment, his True Qi grew noticeably purer.

Chu Hao was overjoyed. As the System had said, this flesh indeed had the effect of enhancing True Qi, and it had significantly improved it. He laughed heartily again.

Chu Hao said, ”Yellow Weasel, thank you for the body you cultivated over so many years; it has helped me improve my cultivation.”

Hearing this, the Yellow Weasel could no longer hold back. Even if it meant being utterly annihilated, it refused to let Chu Hao get off easily.

Suddenly, a grave mound in front of them split open, and a withered hand crawled out from the soil. Chu Hao jumped in fright. Upon closer inspection, he found it was the Yellow Weasel causing trouble. It had latched onto the corpse of a Tai Ding Ancestor and was pouncing towards Chu Hao.

”You think you can get revenge with just this corpse!”

Chu Hao sneered, wielding the Ritian Stick, and smashed down hard. The might of the Ritian Stick was indeed tremendous. With one blow, the corpse shattered and flew far away.

However, the Yellow Weasel’s voice continued to echo, ”You will die a horrible death!”

Other grave mounds began to crack open in succession, corpse after corpse climbing out, all controlled by the Yellow Weasel.

Chu Hao was somewhat surprised. The soul power of this Yellow Weasel was exceptionally strong, far beyond what ordinary souls could achieve—truly worthy of a peak Semi Demon King.

Chu Hao destroyed quite a few, but this was not a sustainable solution, as he still couldn’t find the Yellow Weasel’s location.

Chu Hao said, ”System, are there any item recommendations?”

The System replied, ”It is recommended that the Host purchase a Soul Locking Bead for 5,000 Pretentiousness Points.”

”Purchase.”

DING... Host has purchased a Soul Locking Bead, consuming 5,000 Pretentiousness Points.

Item: Soul Locking Bead

Rarity: ★★

Ability: Absorbs souls within a one-mile radius, locking them inside the bead.

Chu Hao said, ”Yellow Weasel, don’t think that just because you’re hiding, this Taoist Master can’t do anything about you. Wait until I catch you—I’ll eat your soul as well!”

The Yellow Weasel was genuinely terrified. This person had already eaten its flesh and now wanted to eat its soul too; he was simply too evil. Should I just run away now, far, far away, and never see this person again? it wondered.

However, Chu Hao raised his hand, revealing a black bead the size of a thumb. He tossed it up while chanting an incantation. The black bead floated above Chu Hao’s head and began to spin.

The Yellow Weasel, hiding in the shadows, felt a force pulling it towards the bead. Terrified, the Weasel turned and fled. It had no intention of fighting Chu Hao anymore.

But the pulling force grew stronger. It was sucked out and drawn into the Soul Locking Bead.

Chu Hao chuckled, holding the Soul Locking Bead. It was quite useful. The Yellow Weasel’s Ghost Demon soul was sucked into the bead and couldn’t escape.

The Yellow Weasel cried out in agitation, ”Heavenly Master, please spare my life!”

Chu Hao responded indifferently, ”It’s a bit too late to ask for mercy now.”

The Yellow Weasel was truly frightened this time. ”Heavenly Master, I... I’ve never done anything bad in my life. I’ve never eaten a single human. Please spare me.”

Chu Hao said coldly, ”You wanted to eat my sister.”

The Yellow Weasel was speechless. In fact, this was its first time trying to eat a human. After all, Qiu Yun’er had a unique constitution. But fate had it that before it could even taste human flesh, it ended up being devoured itself. To the Yellow Weasel, Chu Hao was now as fearsome as its nemesis, the hawk in the sky.

Chu Hao asked, ”Tell me clearly what you and Min Ran really intended to do. Perhaps this Taoist Master will let you off.”

The Yellow Weasel hurriedly replied, ”Min Ran wants to become the Temple Master of Tai Ding Taoist Temple, and I was only helping him.”

Chu Hao asked coolly, ”Is that all?”

The Yellow Weasel was startled. Could Chu Hao know something? Otherwise, how would this human know that Mount Taiding was infested with demons?

The Yellow Weasel said with a trembling voice, ”It was... the Demon Wolf King who sent me.”

Chu Hao was surprised; this matter had escalated to involve a Demon King.

He asked with interest, ”The Demon King wants to bring disaster upon Mount Taiding?”

The Yellow Weasel was puzzled. Does he genuinely not know, or is he just pretending?

Chu Hao demanded sharply, ”Speak quickly!”

The Yellow Weasel stammered, ”We demons have always been at odds with the righteous path. We have been in conflict for a very long time. The Tai Ding Taoist Temple is an extremely powerful branch of Taoism. If we could destroy it, we would deal a heavy blow to Taoism. We could even leave our sleeper agents in place to facilitate future operations.”
