Ghost Catching System

One after another, many people received the news that the two would fight at Ancient Pine Cliff tomorrow, and they were all astonished.

”Ancient Pine Cliff? The Ancient Pine Forest there is said to be the site where the Taoist Ancient Pine Master passed away in meditation. Are these two going to have a deathmatch there?”

”One wields the True Word Brush and the other the Ghost and Demon Soldier; this battle is bound to be shocking.”

”What are we waiting for? Hurry to Ancient Pine Cliff to secure a spot. It’ll be too late to watch if we’re slow.”

”Ancient Pine Cliff is probably going to be bustling.”

Anli City’s Seventh District was in an uproar. Who could stop these two from fighting each other?

Chu Hao was an up-and-coming talent, yet his reputation had risen rapidly.

Mad Lion Jiang Yuran was even more remarkable. Only the mysterious top ten S-Level Ghost Exorcists from the 9th District could be mentioned in the same breath as him.

The people of the Seventh District felt helpless; both fighters were human, and no matter who won, it would be bad for humanity.

”Arrange for people to go to Ancient Pine Cliff,” the person in charge of the Seventh District ordered.

Someone swallowed nervously. ”To stop them?”

”It’s too late for that. Unless two S-Level generals intervene, all we can do is try our best to ensure they both survive.”

”Yes, sir.”

Many Evil Demons and Ghosts received the news and headed towards Ancient Pine Cliff.

In this age of information explosion, it was exceedingly simple for a piece of news to spread.

Ghosts, Monsters, and Evil Spirits all had humans as informers, receiving the news instantly.

In the mountains a hundred kilometers from Anli City, within a primordial forest, a Fox Demon emerged. She transformed into a stunningly beautiful woman, barefoot and heading to Ancient Pine Cliff.

Humans, are they starting to kill each other again? she mused.

In the deep mountains was a place known as Gorilla Head Mountain. It was an ancient mountain range that strongly resembled a gorilla’s head.

Atop the mountain range, a giant Ancient Ape, over three meters tall, crouched on a rocky peak.

On the Ancient Ape’s shoulder sat a small old monkey with golden fur and eyes as expressive as a human’s.

Yet, this three-meter-tall Ancient Ape seemed to regard the old monkey as its master.

”It’s not very far. Let’s go and have a look,” the old monkey said.

The giant Ancient Ape burst into motion, moving towards Ancient Pine Cliff at a speed unattainable by humans.

「The next day」

Numerous vehicles arrived at the foot of Ancient Pine Cliff.

Su Muyue stepped out of a car. This stunning woman, with her pale skin and long, wavy, jet-black hair, wore sportswear that couldn’t conceal her curvaceous and striking figure. Any man who glanced at her would feel his soul being captivated.

”Sis, what are we doing here?” asked a young man accompanying her. He was around nineteen, with clear, handsome features and a sunny charisma.

Su Muyue replied, ”I brought you here to witness a duel between masters.”

”Masters!” Su Baoshan smiled faintly. ”What kind of masters are going to duel? As a disciple of the Maoshan Sect, how could I not know about it?”

Su Muyue said, ”This just happened yesterday. Su Changyu asked me to come.”

Su Baoshan’s interest was piqued. ”Who’s going to duel?”

Su Muyue pushed a lock of hair from her face, her intelligent eyes showing a hint of confusion. ”I’m not very clear. The old man just told me there was a duel between masters.”

After all, the news of Chu Hao and Mad Lion’s impending battle had only broken yesterday, so it was understandable that many people were still unaware.

”I just don’t believe it,” Su Baoshan said playfully.

”We’ll see when we get there.”

The two walked leisurely towards the higher ground of Ancient Pine Cliff, following a secluded path. At this time of day, it was usually empty.

Today was different; many people were heading towards the summit.

”There really are a lot of people!” Su Baoshan remarked.

Su Muyue nodded. ”Indeed, there are quite a few.”

He saw some people carrying photography equipment uphill. What are they doing? he wondered, then approached them. ”Hey, what are you guys up to? Is there some kind of filming going on up there?”

The person turned around, smiling. ”We’re from the XX live streaming platform. Isn’t there a duel between two masters today? We came to film and live stream it.”

Su Baoshan was speechless. Damn it! What kind of ridiculous duel between great masters is this? Even people from a streaming platform are here! Could it be some kind of publicity stunt for a movie?

Curious, Su Baoshan asked, ”Are you sure this isn’t for some movie promotion?”

The person replied, ”Why would it be? That person wouldn’t deceive us.”

Deciding to press further, Su Baoshan asked, ”Who’s ’that person’?”

”It’s one of the masters who will be dueling. He’s our live streaming platform’s star attraction. He called yesterday saying he wanted to live stream a duel today, and our station manager told us to come over without a second thought.”

For crying out loud! What master would be so bored as to let you guys live stream their duel!?

Feeling dejected, Su Baoshan walked back to his sister. ”Sis, do you think we’ve been tricked? A duel between masters that’s being live streamed? Isn’t that a bit much?”

Su Muyue was also rather speechless. ”Since we’re here, let’s go up and have a look. The air is fresh here anyway; we can just treat it as a stroll.”

With no other choice, Su Baoshan could only follow Su Muyue up the mountain.

On their way up, they found the place crowded. Many special police officers had blocked off the road; personnel from the Seventh District were managing the site, preventing ordinary people from going up.

The live streaming team was explaining, ”We really were invited by the master to live stream this event.”

The people from the Seventh District were exasperated. If anyone was going to do something like this, it had to be that guy. That person was a live streaming fanatic; he had even live streamed from the Underworld before.

Amidst the commotion, Old Yuan said helplessly, ”Let them go up, but you all stay back. It could be very dangerous.”

The live streaming team was dismissive, thinking, It’s just a fight. How dangerous could it be?

They started the live stream and proceeded up the mountain, filming along the way.

Suddenly, from not too far away, an ancient pine tree trembled as if something had SWOOSHED past.

The live streaming team was startled. One of them gulped and asked, ”Did... did we get that on camera?”

”No, it moved too fast,” the cameraman said.

”What was that just now?” another team member asked aloud.

Su Muyue turned to her brother. ”Did you see it?”

Su Baoshan nodded. ”It was very big. Probably a local gorilla.”

Truth be told, he hadn’t seen it clearly either and was only making a rough guess.

Suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, ”Cameraman, quickly film over there, three o’clock direction!”

The cameraman swiftly moved the lens towards three o’clock. There, they saw an exceedingly beautiful woman, barefoot, standing on an ancient pine tree, gazing upward.

This woman was so beautiful, her charm so seductive and enchanting, it made her seem unreal.

Moreover, standing barefoot on the ancient pine tree, she evoked the image of a celestial fairy.

”Such strong Monster Qi!” Su Baoshan exclaimed in shock.

As a Mao Mountain Disciple, it was impossible for him not to sense Monster Qi. He quickly took out an exquisite Compass, its needle spinning rapidly.

He had never encountered Monster Qi of this intensity before, and his face paled.

With a flash, the stunning woman disappeared. As if employing light body techniques, she advanced toward the mountain top.

Su Baoshan was silent for a moment before he couldn’t help but say, ”Sis, I now believe what the old man said.”

”Let’s go.” Su Muyue was also curious about what kind of masters were dueling.
