Ghost Catching System

Others were collapsing, too.

Then, they saw Chu Hao draw an oval at the top of the S-shaped line—an oval just like this: O.

Everyone was petrified.

What the hell is this? they wondered. Is this a snake? Are you sure this isn’t a tadpole with a long tail?

Especially Teacher Yan; he almost fainted when he saw that stroke.

Ma Dehua was on the verge of tears. ”My Brother Hao, is this your so-called soul drawing? You think you’re some magical artist? What the hell!”

The people from the Dwarf Kingdom were not relaxed at all. Akiyama Hengoku said thoughtfully, ”His rhythm is beyond my expectations. His painting is the most unique I have ever seen in my life.”

Unique? Zhongjin couldn’t hold back his urge to complain. The S-shaped line looked perfect, but what the hell was that added O? Is he blind?

Akiyama Hengoku exclaimed, ”Huaxia culture is indeed profound and extensive. Let’s keep watching; maybe he really is drawing a snake.”

Chu Hao nodded at his ”snake” and said, ”Not bad. Brother Hao truly is a Soul Drawing Hand.”

However, he then dotted small eyes onto the O-shaped oval—those were the snake’s eyes.

Everyone was petrified once again.

Zhongjin looked at Akiyama Hengoku, waiting to see what he would say.

Akiyama Hengoku’s mouth twitched as he cursed, ”Damn it! This is an insult! Bring me my knife!”

The people from the Dwarf Kingdom were utterly speechless, all smirking at Chu Hao. So this kid really can’t draw, huh?

Zhongjin burst out laughing. ”Classmate Chu, is this your painting? Truly, Huaxia culture is profound and extensive; you’ve broadened our horizons!”

Hearing his sarcastic remark, the crowd grew angry.

They too were speechless. What on earth is Chu Hao drawing? Anyone could draw better than him.

Chu Hao sneered, ”Little devils, you’ll see what a Soul Drawing Hand truly is.”

Li Yin covered his forehead. Brother Hao, can we please not show off like this? It’s obvious to any fool that you can’t paint at all.

Then, Chu Hao added a dash to the side of the O, forming the snake’s mouth. He then added two V-shaped fangs to make the snake look even more ”ferocious,” leaving everyone utterly speechless.

Chu Hao nodded to himself and muttered, ”Hmm, much more ferocious.”

The crowd wanted to cry. Is this ferocious? Are you sure it’s not incredibly cute?

”HAHA… I’m dying of laughter! So this is the Soul Painter of Huaxia, truly exceptional!” Zhongjin laughed so hard his stomach hurt.

Akiyama Hengoku sneered and said in broken Japanese, ”Soul Painter, you’ve definitely lost.”

Chu Hao glanced around at everyone and said indifferently, ”The true essence of a painting isn’t how well it’s executed, but whether it’s imbued with a soul.”

Does he have to be so pretentious?! the crowd thought. He thinks he can actually give a painting a soul? This painting is already a disaster to look at; if it had a soul, it would probably cry itself to death!

Chu Hao maintained his pretentious pose. ”Mortals, you know nothing of a Soul Drawing Hand.”

”Ding! Host has provoked anger by showing off, earning 500 show-off points.”

The people from the Dwarf Kingdom were furious. Even at this point, he still has to show off! There’s an old saying in Huaxia: ’One doesn’t shed tears until one sees the coffin.’ We’ll just wait and see how he courts his own doom!

It wasn’t just the people from the Dwarf Kingdom; the crowd was speechless too, really wanting to slap him.

Then, they saw Chu Hao point his brush at the snake in the drawing and shout, ”Wake up!”

An unbelievable scene unfolded.

The ”snake” from the painting actually started to move, burst out of the canvas, and darted towards Akiyama Hengoku to bite him!

Its two V-shaped fangs sank fiercely into Akiyama Hengoku’s buttocks. A piercing scream tore from him as the fangs bit deep into his flesh, causing him to wail in pain.

”AAAHH!! Itai! Itai!”

The young man from the Dwarf Kingdom couldn’t bear the pain and kept screaming miserably.

Chu Hao folded his arms and sneered, ”Even I am sometimes scared by the paintings I create! What makes you think you’re anything special?”

”Ding! Host has successfully shown off, earning 500 show-off points.”

”Ding! Host has made a shocking display, earning 1000 show-off points.”

This round of showing off felt really satisfying, Chu Hao thought.

Shocking!

The entire venue was stunned. That snake, which resembled a tadpole, actually came to life?

One by one, they rubbed their eyes hard, wondering if they were dreaming. They gasped, utterly bewildered and no longer knowing what to say.

The people from the Dwarf Kingdom turned pale with fright and rushed to pull the ”snake” off, but its bite was firm, and it wouldn’t let go.

Instead, the harder they pulled, the tighter the snake bit. The flesh on Akiyama Hengoku’s buttocks was nearly torn off, and he was bleeding profusely.

”Save me! Save me!” Akiyama Hengoku cried.

Chu Hao looked down at him. ”Are you convinced now?”

”Itai! So-ri-ma-le... Baka yarou! Sawadika!”

What on earth is this gibberish? Brother Hao couldn’t understand a thing. But isn’t ’baka yarou’ the word for ’bastard’?

Chu Hao’s expression was cold. ”As a Soul Drawing Hand, I declare that trash like you is beneath my notice.”

”I concede! I concede! SOB... SOB... Itai! Itai!” Overwhelmed by pain, Akiyama Hengoku knelt on the ground, kowtowing and begging Chu Hao for mercy.

He was losing so much blood from his buttocks; he might actually bleed to death.

Chu Hao smiled and commanded, ”Disperse!”

At his command, the painted snake turned back into ink and vanished.

”I concede... I concede...” The young man mumbled before passing out from the pain.

The entire venue fell deathly silent.

Then, cheers erupted. The contest was too thrilling, featuring a comeback, a reversal, and a complete turnaround—all because of Chu Hao alone.

Even more astonishingly, this man was truly a Soul Painter; he had actually brought a painting to life!

Is he even human? He’s clearly a deity!

Zhongjin’s sour expression turned to one of apprehension. Even a fool would realize Chu Hao is no ordinary person. I just never imagined anyone could actually make a painting come alive! I’d long heard that Huaxia is home to many extraordinary individuals, but I never expected Chu Hao to be one of them.

Zhongjin began to feel a sense of fear. Dealing with someone like him is the most unnerving; you can never predict his next move.

Teacher Yan, serving as the judge, immediately announced, ”It’s now a two-two tie!”

Chu Hao waved his hand. ”What’s next? Brother Hao will see this through to the end.”

Zhongjin hesitated. Music, chess, calligraphy, and painting have all been contested. Now for the final round!

Zhongjin then said, ”I’ve long heard that Huaxia’s culture is profound and extensive, and martial arts are also a treasured part of Huaxia’s cultural heritage. Let’s have a martial arts challenge next.”

Heh, martial arts? Who gave you the courage to suggest that? Chu Hao thought.

Zhongjin looked behind him, and a man stepped forward. He was dressed in a karate gi, tall—around 1.86 meters—and looked quite formidable.

Wang Qi exclaimed, ”The quarterly karate champion, Yamamoto?!”

Yamamoto was well-known in the karate world, having won numerous awards. This very young man was reportedly still a high school student.

Yamamoto cracked his neck and began to warm up. He gestured to Chu Hao with a beckoning finger, his eyes filled with fighting spirit and disdain.

Chu Hao walked over and sneered, ”Just this one loser?”

The people from the Dwarf Kingdom, thoroughly incensed by Chu Hao’s arrogance, listened as Zhongjin said coldly, ”Yamamoto, it’s up to you now. We cannot afford to lose this time.”
