Ghost Catching System

Was it really necessary for this guy to be so fierce when speaking? Do I owe him money? Chu Hao nodded slightly with a smile.

Hei Wuchang bit his tongue and said, ”Come with me.”

Come with you? Where to? This Hei Wuchang is also baffling. This seems like our first meeting, right?

Arriving deep within the Impermanence Palace, this was an office area in the Underworld, much like the judicial departments of ancient times.

”Sit,” Hei Wuchang said succinctly, unlike White Impermanence who was more talkative. If this were in the Yang Realm, he would definitely be seen as a brooding man.

Then, Hei Wuchang took out a painting and asked, ”What’s your name?”

”Chu Hao.” Chu Hao felt somewhat uncomfortable. What was this Hei Wuchang up to? Is he interrogating me?

Hei Wuchang glanced at Chu Hao and then back at the painting, his face still void of any expression. His behavior was quite odd, and Chu Hao couldn’t help but lean forward to peek at the painting.

Hei Wuchang quickly put away the scroll and said, ”Alright, you can go back now.”

What does that mean?! Chu Hao felt frustrated. This Hei Wuchang is inscrutable. What exactly was the painting he had been holding?

BOOM!

A commotion erupted outside, startling the Netherworld Soldiers guarding the Ghost Gate Pass. Hei Wuchang and Chu Hao both walked out. They immediately saw Netherworld Soldiers and Ghost Officiants gathered outside the Ghost Gate Pass.

”What happened?” Chu Hao asked, puzzled.

Just then, at the mouth of the Ghost Gate Pass, a huge dragon turtle let out a roar, ”I am the Dragon King’s sixth son! I demand to see my Royal Father!”

Baxia!

It had actually come to the Underworld as well! A strange expression crossed Chu Hao’s face. First, it was the Dwarf Kingdom’s little mantis, and now Baxia.

Baxia, a Ghost General Level creature of mountains and seas, was undeniably powerful. White Impermanence, leading a group of Netherworld Soldiers and Ghost Officiants, shouted, ”Baxia, you’re already dead! It’s no use even if the Dragon King comes!”

Baxia roared, its indignation at its death palpable, its foot stomping hard enough to shake the ground. Even in death, its strength was tremendous, sending a group of Ghost Officiants flying.

Baxia was a good hundred meters long and was said to be a Son of the Dragon Clan. Even White Impermanence was troubled by it.

White Impermanence bit his tongue, his voice shrill, ”This is the Underworld, no longer the Yang Realm! If you continue to make trouble, don’t blame Seventh Master for being impolite!”

Baxia roared, its voice shaking the heavens, ”White Impermanence, who do you think you are?! Get Ox-Head and Horse-Face to see me!”

The very mention of Ox-Head and Horse-Face incredibly irritated White Impermanence. Who in the Underworld didn’t know that Black and White Impermanence were at odds with Ox-Head and Horse-Face?

Black and White Impermanence were heads of the judicial Ghost Officiants, while Ox-Head and Horse-Face were the Ghost Officiants of Hell, managing all other Ghost Officiants there.

Generally speaking, Ghosts dreaded Ox-Head and Horse-Face more than Black and White Impermanence. Black and White Impermanence were, at most, responsible for capturing souls and bringing them to justice, while Ox-Head and Horse-Face were the judicial executioners in Hell, specifically tasked with punishing evil spirits.

A furious White Impermanence pulled out a white mourning stick and shouted, ”Baxia, do you really think Seventh Master has no way of dealing with you!”

”Spare your hand, Brother White.”

At this moment, Ox-Head and Horse-Face appeared, towering at three meters tall—one with the head of an ox and the body of a man, the other with the head of a horse and the body of a man.

Ox-Head and Horse-Face had not known Baxia had arrived. Having heard from Gao Jingshou that the killer of two of their disciples had come to the Underworld, they had come over.

Seeing Ox-Head and Horse-Face, Baxia exclaimed joyously, ”Ox-Head, Horse-Face, we have quite the history! You must help me!”

Ox-Head and Horse-Face were equally shocked. Baxia was dead! Who could have killed it?

White Impermanence, very displeased, eyed Ox-Head and Horse-Face and said, ”Ox-Head, Horse-Face, what are you doing away from Hell and at the Ghost Gate Pass?”

Horse Face replied, ”Brother White, Baxia is my friend. Please hand it over to us to deal with.”

White Impermanence bellowed, ”Ox-Head and Horse-Face, you have overstepped your boundaries! This is above, not your Eighteen Layers of Hell!”

Ox Head’s voice rang out hollowly, ”Brother White, even if Baxia dies, it won’t go to Hell. Don’t forget its merits in assisting Yu the Great in controlling the waters.”

Indeed, Baxia had saved tens of thousands of people by controlling the waters in ancient times.

Baxia, excited, said, ”Brother Ox, Brother Horse, this time you must help me. Otherwise, I won’t die content.”

”Take your time and tell us,” Horse Face prompted.

White Impermanence was about to explode. He, a revered Ghost Officiant tasked with capturing fugitives, now found the judicial authority of Hell imposing upon him—which was unbearable.

At that moment, Hei Wuchang arrived, followed by Chu Hao.

Baxia, feeling aggrieved, said, ”My fate is truly bitter! In the Yang Realm, there is a Demon Slayer who broke the rules and killed me. I want to file a complaint!”

Horse Face also said coldly, ”Rest assured! You have merit from controlling the waters. Even if you go before Yanjun, he will surely show you some leniency and help you.”

Baxia breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”His name is Chu...”

Suddenly! Baxia’s voice stopped abruptly. Its gaze turned incredulously toward the distance, its breathing heavy, pupils dilated, as if it saw something terrifying. Its body began to tremble violently.

The Ghost Officiants were also puzzled, and then they saw Hei Wuchang approaching.

Behind Eighth Master came a living person, his Yang Fire intense, burning steadily like a candle flame. Chu Hao smiled gleefully at Baxia.

”Little Wangba, what did you just say? Who do you wish to complain about?”

Little Wangba!

Since Baxia became known, who would dare to address it like that? Moreover, Baxia was one of the Dragon’s Nine Sons!

The Ghost Officiants could already imagine Baxia’s impending fury. The creature was enormous and would be difficult to restrain.

However, they suddenly noticed that something was off with Baxia. It was shaking violently, its pupils sharply focused—clearly terrified to the extreme.

All the Ghost Officiants were astonished.

Chu Hao stood there, exuding a sense of calm. Why is Baxia so frightened? It’s many times more terrified than if it had seen the Yu Emperor himself!

So satisfying! I never thought a trip to the Underworld would let me see Baxia again!

Baxia let out a strange cry, its four legs retracted, its head shrunk back, and it hid inside its Dragon Turtle shell, shivering.

All the Ghost Officiants’ eyes rested upon Chu Hao, filled with utter disbelief.

Gao Jingshou tugged at Ox-Head and Horse-Face discreetly, saying warily, ”My Lords, it’s... it’s him.”

Ox-Head and Horse-Face were about to rage. For the living person who killed their disciple, they would not let him go easily. At the very least, they wanted to send him to the Eighteen Layers of Hell for severe punishment.

Ox-Head and Horse-Face were about to speak.

Then they heard Chu Hao say indifferently, ”Little Wangba, say it again. Whom do you want to complain about?”

Baxia was almost driven mad. It couldn’t forget the scene of its own death—it was too terrifying! This living person was too dreadful!

Seeing that Baxia gave no response from inside its shell, Chu Hao shouted, ”Come out! This Taoist Master is speaking to you!”

Ox-Head and Horse-Face were stunned. What in the world is going on?

Baxia, even in death, was not someone who could be berated at will, not even by them. This was because Baxia’s cultivation was at the Ghost General Level, and furthermore, it was a Son of the Dragon Clan, as legend told.

”I... I won’t come out,” Baxia, nestled inside its shell, said with the sullenness of a child.

All the Netherworld Soldiers and Ghost Officiants were rendered speechless as they looked at Baxia, large as a hill. Where did its mighty and domineering aura from just now go? It didn’t even give Lord Impermanence face, and now it’s turned into a complete pushover!

Horse Face shouted, ”Who are you!”
