Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 2043: Chapter 2042: Matchmaking

Zhang Minghui’s words made Jing Xiaocha embarrassed and angry, and Ou Yihan’s expression changed slightly because of his words.

Jing Xiaocha was afraid that Ou Yihan would misunderstand, and even more afraid of Zhang Minghui saying something else, so she hurriedly stopped him, “Little Hui, if you keep talking nonsense, your aunt will get angry… Sister Ou, don’t misunderstand, Little Hui is just being childish.”

Zhang Minghui glared at Ou Yihan, clearly thinking she was the bad woman who stole Uncle Wen away.

But under Jing Xiaocha’s stern gaze, he dared not say anything more.

Hearing Jing Xiaocha’s apology, Ou Yihan graciously smiled, “I won’t hold it against a child. Besides, Wen Jin and I only officially confirmed our relationship a couple of days ago, so I wasn’t technically his girlfriend before.”

As she said this, Ou Yihan glanced up at Wen Jin.

“You all get in the car,”

There was a honk at the villa gate, and Wen Jin spoke calmly, advising Zhang Minghui, “School is starting soon; check if there’s anything you need to prepare when you get home. Don’t make your aunt worry all the time.”

Zhang Minghui immediately nodded obediently, “I understand, Uncle Wen. I’ll behave and listen.”

In the car, Jing Xiaocha softly scolded Zhang Minghui again, “Don’t talk nonsense like that anymore in the future.”

In that earlier situation, Zhang Minghui, this kid, said Ou Yihan was still trying to steal Wen Jin away.

He even said she was competing with her.

It made it seem like there was something between her and Wen Jin.

Brother Wen treats her well, but only considers her a sister. He has finally managed to get a girlfriend, and even though Jing Xiaocha feels a bit sad seeing them together, she will not allow Little Hui to ruin his happiness.

Zhang Minghui pouted, unwilling to let it go, “Auntie, don’t you like Uncle Wen?”

“What nonsense are you talking?”

Jing Xiaocha’s face changed dramatically as she reached out to cover Zhang Minghui’s mouth. They were in the car, and the driver was Brother Wen’s family driver.

This child was becoming more and more indiscreet with his words.

Zhang Minghui, mouth tightly covered by her, was glared at angrily, but in his heart, he thought: Auntie clearly likes Uncle Wen but doesn’t dare to admit it.

His aunt could tell him, and he would help her win Uncle Wen over.

“No more nonsense, you hear me?”

Jing Xiaocha warned, and seeing Zhang Minghui nod, she finally let go of his mouth.

In the Wen Family garden, after seeing Jing Xiaocha and Zhang Minghui off, Ou Yihan and Wen Jin didn’t immediately go into the living room. Instead, Ou Yihan said to Wen Jin, “Wen Jin, let’s go buy groceries. I saw a mall not far away when I was coming here. We don’t need to drive, let’s walk.”

“Aren’t you afraid of getting sunburnt?”

Ou Yihan smiled and looked up at the sky, “There’s shade from trees all the way, so it’s not too bad. Or are you afraid of getting a tan?”

Wen Jin chuckled, “If you’re not afraid, then let’s go for a walk.”

They walked out of the villa and along the fragrant green-shaded pedestrian path.

Ou Yihan looked at Wen Jin walking beside her, handsome and gentle, with an elegant demeanor. A trace of joy quietly grew in her heart.

“Why are you looking at me while walking?”

Feeling her gaze on him, Wen Jin turned to look at her.

Ou Yihan playfully smiled, “You’re too good-looking, no wonder even that kid Zhang Minghui likes you.”

“What do you mean by that?”

Wen Jin raised an eyebrow, a slight smile forming on his lips.

Ou Yihan said, “I can tell, Zhang Minghui really likes you, so he hopes you and Xiaocha will be together as his uncle and aunt. No wonder when I met him in the garden earlier, he looked at me with such hostility.”

“Don’t take a child’s words seriously,”

Wen Jin smiled nonchalantly, and Ou Yihan playfully said, “Of course, I won’t take it seriously. I know you’ve always considered Xiaocha as your sister. To be honest, I actually want to introduce Xiaocha to Shi Tian. Whether or not they’d be a good match, they’d only know after getting to know each other better. “

With that, Ou Yihan held onto Wen Jin’s arm and gave it a playful shake, “Wen Jin, what do you think?”

Wen Jin didn’t answer immediately, his handsome brows furrowing slightly in thought.

“I assure you, Shi Tian is of good character.”

“Find an opportunity to ask Xiaocha first. If she’s willing, you can introduce them.”

Maybe Ou Yihan’s coquettish manner softened Wen Jin’s heart, or maybe he felt that since he’s now dating Ou Yihan, he wouldn’t be able to look after Jing Xiaocha as much, and it’s time for someone else to take care of her.

With his approval, a brilliant smile appeared on Ou Yihan’s face, and she said cheerfully, “Okay, I’ll ask Xiaocha another day. If she’s not interested, I won’t force her.”

“Hmm.”

Wen Jin responded lightly, not quite used to having Ou Yihan hold his arm this way.

However, after wrapping her arm around his, Ou Yihan didn’t plan on letting go. Instead, she joyfully talked about another topic, “I’ve been thinking, if we have a one-week vacation, we should go somewhere a bit farther.”

“Are you sure you can arrange a week off?”

She said, looking up at Wen Jin again.

Wen Jin warmly responded, “I can.”

That night, Jing Xiaocha lay in bed, holding a small clay figurine in her hand.

Her mood was like a calm lake stirred by a gentle breeze, ripples spreading and leaving her emotions in disarray.

She thought about what happened at Wen Jin’s house that morning. When Ou Yihan said they were going on a vacation in a few days.

A part of her heart subtly ached.

An inexplicable, indescribable feeling of pain bubbled up, causing her to subconsciously press her lips together.

Jing Xiaocha, Brother Wen is like your closest family member; no matter who he is with, as long as he is happy, you should be happy for him.

Yet, even telling herself this, that invisible, intangible ache wouldn’t diminish.

Perhaps within this year, Brother Wen and Sister Ou would get married.

As these thoughts drifted, her eyes suddenly became moist, and she couldn’t bear to look away from the small clay figurine in her hand— a gift from Brother Wen.

The clay figurine wore a cheerful smile, carefree, but her heart was filled with endless bitterness…

Something slipped from her eyes, trickling down her cheeks, finally landing on the little clay figurine in her hand.

Jing Xiaocha raised her hand to wipe her eyes when her phone began to vibrate, followed by its melodious ringtone.

With one hand holding the clay figurine, she picked up the phone with the other, a hint of confusion and surprise flashing in her eyes when she saw the caller ID.

Quickly placing the clay figurine on the small bedside table, she wiped away her tears and calmed her mood before pressing the answer button, “Hello, Sister Ou.”

Her voice cautiously devoid of emotion, feigning cheerfulness.

Ou Yihan’s gentle, joyful voice reached her ears, “Xiaocha, I’m not disturbing your work, am I?”
